Suboxone Is Bummin Me Out

I switched last week Sunday(today is Saturday 6 days later) from a daily dose of 60mg methadone to a daily dose of 8mg suboxone. I went 4 days of detox hell and even though I thought I was going to absolutely die, I did it because I thought that switching to subo was a better option than the many downfalls of daily trips to the methadone clinic. I have taken subo before and it worked well, gave me that energetic upbeat feeling that methadone gave me. Made me feel good, but normal good. Well, since I started the suboxone again a couple days ago I feel NOTHING. I feel tired, achy, no energy, and no lil boost of pep like I did on the methadone and like I did the last time on subo. What gives? Im crabby, tired, cold, achy, have I made a horrible mistake and should have stayed on the methadone?e switching

Dear Joeyd, I use 2 b on methadone then switched 2 subs myself. I was on 110 of the methadone 4 almost 5 years. Got sick of the travel 2 the clinic and decided I would get off. Once I got down to 24 I was a mess. Withdrawing SO bad. I went 2 a sub Dr and he put me on subs that day. I had 2 increase my dose twice n 4 getting it right. Maybe, what u r feeling is withdrawals still from the sound of your symptoms. U may need an increase in your dose. Sometimes, I wish I never got off the methadone 2. It helped way better with the pain I suffer everyday. And, I had 2 weeks take homes. But, like I said."the traveling stunk. I know what your going through, been there. Seriously , talk 2 your Dr, u may need an increase. Let me know how u make out. Good Luck!

Thanks for your input. How much subo did you get up to before you felt good? I'm wondering if I'll need upwards of 24mg/day? Also curious if you would know why the subo worked so great for me before I ever got on the methadone but now it's like null and void ever since having been on methadone. And I was only on the done fer 2mos (barely!) It's like I have nothing in my system at all, PLUS I feel like crap whereas b4 I could get a very nice energetic buzz on the subo and feel no pain. The done' did the same, nice energetic buzz and no pain. Now that I quit it and am back on subo I have zero energy zero anything except ickies. methadone

Hi...you`re switch from 60mg Methadone to 8mg of Sub is way too low...but you know that right...you ought to reduce the Methadone to 30mg before attempting the switch (this is because of the withdrawals and conflict between the 2 substances as the Subutex will remove the Methadone from your system) you need to be on at least 16mg of Subutex coming from 30 mg methadone and do NOT take it before at least 36 hours after your last Methadone intake,and longer if possible (the longer the better to lessen any chance of the Subutex kicking out the Methadone from your system,leading to withdrawal)...above 12mg of Subutex is a "blocker" and will stop any opiate from being taken in by your brain receptors...good luck...you`ve a far better chance of coming off from Subutex than Methadone...reduce from say 16mg over the course of at LEAST a year and come down to the 0.4mg Subutex pills.
