Stolen Medication

I picked up my vyvanse last night and ibuprofen someone stole my medicine will welfare replace them if I file a police report

Hi Deb,

Sorry to hear about your medication being stolen. I did a bit of research on the matter and while I cannot speak for Welfare directly, information I'm finding on the topic of stolen meds suggests that you will have to file a police report for controlled substances such as Vyvanse, along with filing a request with your physician for an early refill. I believe you just need the patient's name, patient's ID number, medication(s) requested and police report handy in order to submit such a request.

It is also important to note that some practices do not provide early refills at their discretion and may only offer a plan on how to manage the potential withdrawal symptoms. But it seems every doctor has different policies in that regard.. So you'd probably have to speak with your doctor in person for more specific details pertaining to their individual policy. I'd imagine that they can then work with Welfare on what to do from there as far as coverage is concerned.

Hi I have had the worst happen today I was shopping at local store I had kneeled down to read a label on a item placed on the bottom shelf that's the only time I can think that my purse would have been stolen. I noticed when I went to reach in to get my shopping list and my purse was gone. I had my pain meds inside along with other medication I take such as thyroid meds and nerve pain medication. I just had my pain pills filled on the 9th. I made a police report and called all my cards in stolen also have made a appointment to get a new drivers license. I'm worried my doctor won't refill the medication. I live in California has anyone had this happen before? I have never asked for a early refill and I've never had this happen before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
