My mom takes the 100mg and people call her because u can shoot them and get super high. I have never injected anything. If u snort them it burns like fire! If u are sick DT these help.

Yes any prescribed pain medication can severely hurt or kill you when taking that many a day Sean.100 nucynta is off the charts. no doctor would ever prescribe that much and it sounds like your wife is now dealing with the pain of withdrawal on top of her condition. many people do not understand how painful withdrawal is from some of these pain mess. they can make you feel like you are literally dying. If she really is taking that many a day you need to go to a doctor or talk to someone to get her help, and it may need to be a different one than who you are seeing now. Don't wait until its too late if red flags are going up in your head its time to get help.

I just started taking Nucynta last week (3 - 50's a day). I went to this forum to learn more about the drug. This forum seems to be more about how to abuse the drug and not so much about legally prescribed pain management.

I am not interested in how to get high, but I am interested in personal experiences, good or bad. The manufacturer states that this drug should be prescribed for short periods of time. The manufacturer's reasoning is that it is highly addictive and severe withdrawals if suddenly discontinued. Also, I know this drug is a class 2 drug. Is Nucynta stronger than hydrocodone, oxycodone, or percocet? My pain management doctor switched me from six 10/500 hydrocodone's per day to NUCYNTA. After reading everything provided by the pharmacist, it sound like this is a very "dangerous" drug. Any comments or experiences with this drug would be appreciated. Lots of bad info here. Nucynta doses are 50,75,100. How is 100 off the charts? I am prescribed 100mgx2 daily for my arthritis. Also, many of you guys are very misinformed. Nucynta is a narcotic, and a C2 drug. It most def will get you high, but not as high as oxy. And it can be snorted or injected. Nucynta has a website, and it warns against it because it has no fillers to prevent someone from crushing and snorting. The addiction part comes into play because this drug is one of the only narcotics that also increases serotonin uptake.

Vin I believe he was not talking about 100 mg but a 100 a day. This forum has not only been about that but abuse and people can very likely take that many a day. What you have said about fillets has already been said here and I suggest a new thread for further discussing that topic. Thanks

I HAVE BEEN ON NUCYNTA
for just a week (50mg x 3 times daily) . For demographic purposes, I want to share my information. I am 49 yrs old, white (Caucasian), 5'9", 220lbs. I take one 50mg tablet about every 8hrs. Even for a 220lbs man, if I happen to take another tablet close to an earlier dose, it can make dizzy and a little unsteady. Does anyone know of any overdoses or death's from taking Nucynta? Also, I would love to discuss any problems, side effects or any other facts about the drug, particularly, from people that are on NUCYNTA presently.

Please do not take this drug unless you have chronic pain and only take as prescribed.
I am sitting with my son in the CCU unit because he overdosed on this drug and I found him barely breathing, lips blue. He was 30 mins away from oxygen deprivation to the point of his cellular structure dead. His lungs are filled with fluid and he is on a breathing machine. We are praying for his life. Please don't mess w opiates, Physical addiction is unavoidable.

I slightly disagree with your heated reply there. Pharm. companies producing these medications ppl used to snort lost over 40% of there sales when they were mandated to switch to incl antabuse/gell agents etc they have a huge incentive in the drug abuse society like 100s of millions

To all the people who think you can't snort nucynta, my husband snorts it ALL the time and thinks I don't know it. I'm sick of pain doctors prescribing my husband Oxy, Nucynta, and hydrocodone, etc. He has them ALL fooled and cuts up and snorts whatever he can every single day and there is NOTHING I can do to help him as he loves his pills more than he loves any of his family members, even his own son and wife.

Lucy, I know of your life, I too, I have RA and just got in an accident where I broke my tail bone, Clavicle, sternum, a Rib, and am starting to look like a yellow jelly bean with bruse. I am allergic (get sick) from pain killers. life just to go pee by ones self or stand up, w/o so much pain you want to cry is so beyond most people. Lucky for them. lucky for us, we might have attainable goals, humbling as they are, joy is at a lower threshold....Have you tried Acupuncture? has its reliefs

Is there anything I can take with my nucynta that may make it work a little better? I have a broken jaw and am taking 50 to 100 mgs depending on my pain at the time. It almost seems that the motrin 800 I am taking with it does more for my pain. I just wanna eat something that didn't come from a can. Please help me

well, I was just switched from tramadol to nucynta for chronic nerve pain. I havnt startd takng it yet, tho, but damn, now I dont know if I even want to ask a question...u guys are brutal!! ive nevr heard of it and wantd to know if anyone could compare the two. and, are u serious???!! ive honestly never heard of snorting pain meds!!! call me shelterd,but I thought that was for coke and heroin....!

I too, am a chronic pain sufferer due to migraines. They started 47 years ago at only one per month and progressed to daily after 25 years. I was a Director at several Fortune 500 corps. and planned to be a Vice President. For 39 years, my GP and Neurologists only prescribed mild pain relievers, Darvon or Vicodin, and warned me against opiates--that might actually relieve my pain.

Lucy, Nucynta is not being discontinued. It's just that you need to be referred to a Pain Management Doctor that can write you prescriptions, like Nucynta, that can really match the pain you have!

Regressing back to me, when I finally accepted that my migraines were disabling and there was no qualify to my life, I had just spent my inheritance earning my MBA from Pepperdine University. Useless waste of money as I couldn't work as either a V.P. or clerk, due to pain.

Cutting to the chase: my Pain Mgt. doctor has had me on Oxycontin and Demerol or Morphine for 7 years. Recently, I switched to Opana and Nucenta. The Opana is to be in my bloodstream 24/7 as formerly was the Oxycontin. Nucynta at 100 mg. replaces my Demeraol of 200 mg. and my prior Morphine at 4 mg. for breakthrough pain. Migraines, as do most causes of chronic pain, can go from a 6 of pain to a ten, whereby I forgo calling 911 as I fear an ambulance ride might be worse than lying still and praying to die.

As tp your comments on junkies ruining pain relief for those who truly suffer: Right ON! I understand the pull of addictions and pray for all whose lives are driven by its relentless pull. But now that I finally have a combination of meds. that address my migraines AND 3 autoimmune diseases, two of which are fatal, but in remission, what happens?

I met with new doctors: GP, Neurologist, and two Rheumotoligists, only to be treated like dirt. No, that was just being polite, as I am actually treated like s***, called a walking pharmacy, have doctors read my chart only to walk in the room in anger, sarcasm, and rapidly shown the door. Three years ago my Ford Focus was totalled by a young gal who ran the red light looong after it turned, as she was chatting on her cell. The car behind her told the police that she never touched her brakes.

The GP and Neurologist I'd seen for 3 years responded with: you'll be fine in 48 hours if you just keep stretching your neck beyond the point of pain, said the former, and the latter refused to see me because his appt. taking nurse advised me, "He doesn't want to get involved in a a law suit."

Thus, I was forced to ask my lawyer to find me a Neurologist as I fell down 6 times in three weeks, I met with a Neurologist they set up for me and he decided I was a hypochondriac and probably "high" when we met.

Yes, after an hour in the waiting room, 90 minutes of answering his nurses questions, I was so thrilled/relieved to finally meet him that it must have showed. His written report challenged my autoimmune diagnosis made by the Directors at Scripps, and he revealed his ignorance of the MOS cancer surgery I had there. His doubt of MOS (micrographic) was expressed as imaginary, although he did right that my nose was disfigured!

So know that so many of us chronic, daily, pain-sufferers share horrible discrimination and even mockery from doctors. I'm at the point where I'm weaning off every med that's not Opana or Nucynta, and will no longer see ANY doctor I can.

Back to Nucynta, I find it does the job at 100 mg. better than Demerol or Morphine. One side effect I have is that it makes me unable to complete a thought or a sentence. Should you share this side effect, go to bed and do NOT talk on the phone or to anyone while under its affects. May God bless you and may He remove the cause of your suffering. In the meantime, enjoy the relief that Nucynta brings!

oh my. that is horrible! is nucynta like hydrocodne n stuff? ive been prescribd it, havnt used it yet, but.....wow. Ii was never a "pill" person.( couldnt evn remembr to take birth control....) wasnt aware people were snorting them!!! I just want my pain to stop or be managable. im sorry for your predicament, hopefully hell open his eyes before he loses everything worth living for. God Bless.

I have taken nucynta for a month. I have started to tapper off. I use heavy scissors to cut the pill in half. this stuff is like tar, hard tar. not possible to snort. Anyway was at half, now I am down to a third of a pill and doing well. no issues with this drug. In fact this is the only pain med I have ever not felt "toxic" from. For me, I have found something I can fall back on when I need pain relief.

Nucyenta had do bad effects, I tappered off them, I consider this a fall back if I need pain relief. I just re focus my thoughts away from pain and hope for the best.
