What are the most common side effects of Omez tablets?

Some of the most common side effects of Omez, also known as Omeprazole (experienced by over 1% of those taking the drug) are headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, dizziness, trouble awakening and sleep deprivation.

Research I have gathered from clinical trials shows that the incidence of these effects with Omeprazole was mostly comparable to that found with placebo. That said, you shouldn't have to worry much about the side effects of this drug when taken as prescribed.

Is there any possibility of heart disease being related to Omeprazole?

I was unable to locate any side effect of Omeprazole that is associated with heart disease.

I am not an MD, so if you do feel concerned about the side effects of this drug, I would urge you to contact your doctor for any possible alternatives.

Does long term use of omeprazole prevent iron absorption? I've been taking omez for 2 years now and my hb % is 9gms & decreasing gradually. I've also had a few painless enlarged cervical lymph-nodes (less than 1cm). My lymphocyte count is 72% and wbc count is 12000.
