Side Effects Of Epitec (Page 4)

Updated

I am bipolar 2 or so they say. I have been taking epiec 200 and rispadol. I have lost the will to live without the depression of course and i have become an angry horrible person that no one can be around. I have shakes in the head and tiredness that is so not me. I have started to reducing the meds and is on 50 now. I am feeling much better and the old me is returning. Why do people think epitec is such a wonder drug?

Was on Camcolit for years since the late 80's till Dec2010 now on Epitec, thanks to my new psychiatrist. Hair growing back on old baldy head and also eye vision improving. Must also add that a healthy life style, no smoke/alcohol and lots of cardio exercises pulled me through that Camcolit stage and still is now, and there were hell times. Now 58 years and now back to where I was prior to the late 80's and the Camcolit

Instead of Zolpidem, try Molipaxin. Zolpidem gave me night terrors so I would eventually wake up and still feel tired.

Seroqual was an absolute disaster for me. I went apes..t. I couldn't speak properly-promise. I also experienced restless legs. My new doctor referred to it as a psychotic drug. Your choice, it may be different for you.

I was on this medication for years and had problems with my weight , feeling sick and the dizzyness and lack of empathy. Completely off medication and feel more alive and have my sense of humour back . I use a medical strain of cannabis with a high CBD content and have much better results . I'm in control of my weight and medicate just like i would with my previous meds with great results . I stay away from alcohol completely as it can change my mood with the first drink and be a nasty person .
I don't care anymore what people think because it works for me and I don't see it any different from these drugs and feel much healthier

Hi there,
I have been on Epitec for roughly 3 + years now and I can safely say that I have not picked up weight on it. I actually lost the weight that I had picked up whilst on other medication. As for epitec making one feel "out of sorts" I don't experience that either. I remember feeling a little tired when I first started taking it (maybe for about a week) but I have been feeling NORMAL since being on it. Hope this helps!

Perhaps its the rispadol or taking the two/both. Hey good luck but a healthy life style with lots of exercise, not much smoking and alcohol and processed sugars/foods and more naturals/organics ......all these go a long way ........and reduces the stress levels and keeps da blood flowing with lots of oxygen

Hi. As I said in a previous post, I have been on Epitec for 3+ years. Before I was diagnosed with Epilepsy, I was prescribed all different meds. They just made me lose the will to live. I tell anyone who tells me that someone is on Risperdol, I tell them to get off!!!!! That and Seroquel and Rivotril (just to name a few) messed me up! Since I've been taking the Epitec, I have felt so much better! These benzo's etc are dangerous!
They also made me "lose time" where I would not remember anything I did on particular day. Or I would remember snippets of the day, that I went somewhere but could not for the life of me remember how I got there. It's really scary!
Also made me the biggest b*tch. Not easy to live with!

I agree that being diagnosed with BMD and borderline (part of the spectrum) made me figure out why my life was so buggered for more than 30 years. I saw a deadful psychiatrist who put me on antidepressants, Epilem and then Epitec, 2 anxiety meds, 20 mg Zolpidem !!!!!, Risperdal, nd Stilpayne. All on six mths repeats. I got completely addicted to Zolpidem. At one I got through 60 ten mg in 3 days. I had about 4 fits, falls, and extra pyramidal effects. Now on 200 mg Epilem bd. It has a range of awful side effects and I gained more than 20 kilos. i don't get onto a scale, intimacy or look at my body. Very depressing. After rehabs I read a brilliant book called The alcoholism and addiction cure by Chris Prentiss and his son, Pax, a former addict. Please read it. Check libraries or pay R100. It's a great investment. And please stay away from Zolpidem. You lose your memory, sleep walk, sleep talk, even sleep cook and drive ! The next day you have no clue. Good luck.

Hi there,

I've been diagnosed with bipolar, ADHD and OCD. I am on epitec 50mg 1 x day, urbanol 10mg 2 x day, concerta 54mg 1 x day and 50mg dopaquel at night. I have been on this medication routine for a month now. I am more suicidal than ever and I feel like I'm always lost in another zone. I was in a psychiatric hospital for 3 weeks and my progress was great. I've been out for just over a week now and I feel like I cannot cope with 'normal' life. Is the medication making me feel this way or is it due to the therapy I had having opened deep and old wounds? I am only 24 and I am sick of living like this. Nothing is working/helping and I am close to giving up for good.

Not sure how to put this. I have little medical knowledge. So, I can only speak from my experience. I am now 43 years old and have, as far back as I can recall, been prone to anxiety and panic attacks. Somehow this led to addiction over the years, and fortunately to rehab, for benzodiazepines. Reading some of the comments on this site makes me concerned. So, my advice, seek professional advice but stick to the basics-rest, excercise, healthy eating, and of course, the most difficult, avoiding stress. Never underestimate the help of a good, "drugwise" therapist. Be very sure before taking benzo's or similar drugs like zolpidem. Those thingies apparently are not intended for long term use.

I have been diagnosed with Bipolar years ago. I currently take Fluanzol, Cilift, Epitec, Dopuqual, and Zolnox. I have also gained a good 20kg. I have been on Herbalife to try and help with the weight loss. Eish I only lost about 5kgs in almost 3 months. I have also been on the contraceptive injection which I have now stopped. Also another weight gain fact. Since December I have developed an itchy skin. Been to the doc a few times and every time they say its something else. I do think the meds are attributing to the itch. The only problem is that this is the most stable I have ever been so do I sit with the itch or change meds? Also without my meds I used to cut and harm myself. So understand my reluctance. I will be seeing my phsyciatrist the end of the month. other issues I have picked up on is that my eyesight has weekend. My heart pumps faster and harder at times, I have a very dry mouth, to name what I can remember.

I am on 400mg of epitec and ritalin in the day with Zolpidem at night.
I very rarely have episodes - ie 1 a year.
I was diagnosed when I was 15 years old and I'm now 30.
It seems by everyone's posts that I'm on the highest dose here but I must say that it has given me a normal life.
