Saved My Life

Updated

i have been on suboxen for 5 months. I have been addicted to pain pills (anything..lortab etc.) for 12 years. At my worst i was taking 30 ten miligram lortabs a day. then i was introduced to the internet, where i could get tramadols without a prescription! i was up to 40 a day when i started getting seizures. unfortunately, that didnt stop me. It took 4 seizures and my 2 kids to finally say enough. Everytime i started to detox off of pills, the withdrawal was too severe. Thats when i heard of suboxone. It has truly saved my life! I am on a high dose of 3 to 4 8 miligrams a day. I am not thinking about the addiction to the subs, for the first time in my life, i dont crave pills, i dont think about going thru anybodys medicine cabinet. I did anything to support my habit and i dont have to do that today. My whole family sees such a difference....I have a full time job and ive never called in sick which i used to do all the time cuz of my addiction to pills. I know im rambling, but ive never shared this info with anyone, ive never gone online, so this is so new to me. Please reply back to me and share your stories with me for hope and inspiration to get thru this hideous disease called addiction

I just started suboxone yesterday and i couldnt believe the magical results. It is almost like there must be a catch --too good to be true. I have been taking pain pills for 20 years. Started with the good old lortab and from there within a yr my dosage was up to 5- 7.5's at least once a day but actually as many as i could get from people. Eventually i concocted a reason to need them and of course I was given a prescription of my own. Long story short....I broke my wrist in October and had to have 2 surgeries. Well between all the different Drs. I had a script of 300 percocet 10's and 180 lortab 7.5's. and my usual script of 15mgs of methadone a day.I still ran out of everything but the methadone and that is only because I am afraid of it. I was to the point of wondering if I would wake up once i went to bed. I no longer go a buzz. It was just maintenance. I read about SUBOXONE on line and sent off for the brochure and listened to the testimonies of those who are using it and their results. The only bad thing i can think of with it is the length of time I had ro go without taking anything. This was due to the Methadone because it stays in your system longer. But even so, it wasnt as bad as I thought because I knew relief was just around the corner along with my fresh new start in life. I am lucky to have insurance but I agree that it should be more easily obtained because of the opiod addiction epidemic at this time. I know I will save 200 .a week or more by not having to buy them off the street. I can get my self respect back now and be a real mother and grandmother. Its amazing when young people read this how they will possibly laugh at the thought of a mom or grandma being an addict but since it is a desease it will be with you your whole life without treatment. I kicked the cocaine habit I had in my 20's and the meth habit i had in my 30's and as I turn 50 in April and will be able to finally say I kicked the pills in my 40,!!!! Good luck to everyone. Have a great day.

My storie for you!!! I was on 3 100mg morphines a day....I have tried to quit 20 times and have been on them for 10 years...Hope this helps. I wrote some of this for others too....Hey just wanted to let everyone know that I have been on suboxone for almost 2 weeks and it hs been amazing...I feel like my old self again....I also brought my best friend on board she was also addicted to pain meds...She was ready for the transaction and was soooo hard to convience of its miraculous outcome....She went on the suboxone on monday and had to call her dealers and tell them to go to HE!! if you know what I mean...She too is doing very well. She has 2 daughters and is now able to be the mom she always wantd to be....To be able to bring your best friend that kind of gift brings me joy I cannot express....I felt very anxious and the sweats were only around for about 9 days then booom gone!!! I feel great and alive and I care about life for the first time in years!!! The fog has been lifted! Yes Ryan the seroquel does work but I have brought it down to only 25mg from the 200mg...And last few nights took nothing and slept great! I remember the last time I tried to do this and after 12 days of cold turkey I was calling for more pills....not this time the cravings are gone and I feel GREAT!!! In have gotten my suboxone down to 3 8mg/2mg a day and sometimes forget to take them for many hours! That tells me I am doing great! Yes it was expensive but since I brought a buddy on board the doctor has given me some discounts and tried to work with me as much as she can...Got the pills for 488.00 for 90 instead of 588.00 so it is a little beter....Who cares was about to pay 9,000.00 for Rapid Detox glad I went this route....Everyone thanks for your support...Ryan especially...Anyone has any questions let me know! Thanks ALL

Im not going into my story, but believe me it is very bad. Between my husband and I we spend over $6,000 a month, and that is on top of what we get from our Dr.'s. We can not afford it anymor. My husaband recevied some $ and most of it went to that. We are at out wits end. I just recently heard about sSaboxen and I need it. I was really scared if it was gonna work, but reading ur inputs, i feel better. now i need to figure out how to get it, asap!! Someone said they sent away for info..how? anyone can offer advice how i can get this process started?

You just need to keep in mind you are heaps better off being on Subutex/Suboxone. I'm not sure how much it costs over there but surely it is cheaper than buying pills on the blackmarket & think of all the time, effort & money that you would put into chasing your drugs of addictions? I found Subutex is much more effective than Suboxone. I have been on the same dose (34 mg per day) for years & have never had to increase it. I have chronic back & neck pain & find this dose is effective. It also lasts in the body for twice as long as drugs like morphine etc. (You can even miss a day without noticing any side-effects) It is a wonderful drug & I reccomend it to anybody with opiate addictions (it is definately worth giving it a try).Good luck to everyone

Most people that consider suboxone to be a wonder drug have not tried to stop taking it yet. Remember, if it seems to be too good to be true, it usually is! Suboxone is addictive, just like the original opiods you were taking. Although I agree you are better off taking sub than whatever you are currently abusing, you should go into the suboxone treatment fully informed. You will, at some point, end up needing to stop the suboxone, and at that point you will have horrible a horrible w/d. In my opinion, suboxone w/d is much worse than say vicodin. Also, since suboxone is sooooo long acting, the w/d is longer acting as well. Getting off suboxone was (still is) the single worst thing I have ever experienced. Taking suboxone is basically trading one drug for another, and you are simply prolonging your addiction. Although suboxone is highly effective in treating opiod w/d, don't believe anyone who says you will not w/d from suboxone itself. You WILL find yourself in a w/d situation from suboxone and then guess what...... you'll want some opiods to relieve your symptoms! It's a vicious cycle that I have personally lived with for quite some time. Of course, I would say taking suboxone is better any day than being a hard core heroin addict, but for vicodin or other similar things, I would kick it without the sub personally.
