Saboxin (its Suboxone)

Updated

It's an orange pill that dissolves under the tongue that has a cross on one side. Goes from 2mg to 8mg. I have been on this for 2 years to help in my addiction to opiates.

Yes Suboxone has an actual pain killer i it that can not only help with existing pain but stop the pain pill withdrawal symptoms in their track when you cannot take the vicodin, percocets, hydrocodone, or whatever opiate you are on any longer.

I live in Dayton Ohio and I am fighting my addiction to opiates.I have taken saboxin before. I was getting them a friend of a friend and now I can't get them any more.I don't have any insurance, and all the doctors I' ve talked to want between $800 and $500 just for the consultation visit. and a few of the cheeper ones won't see you till you've been sick for at least 2 days. by then I would be half way through the hard part of the detox. If I could take the pain I would just go cold turky. I can't afford $500.My question is,... Is there a place thats close to me that is not so expensive, that just wants to help people instead of makeing money off there addiction?

Angel 24, there is a Dr. Baber In Cincy that will charge you $300 for the 1st visit and the med is $48. You have to be clean for 24 hours. Your follow up appt is 2 days later and that appt is included in the first fee. The medication is approx $8 a pill and you can take up to 2 or 3 a day. This is the cheapest I can find in our area. You may have better luck having yourself committed at a hospital as suicidal, they have to treat you for withdrawl, but you have to be conviencing that you are suicidal and indigent (no job, money, homeless). They have to treat you. Most people won't agree with this, but when you are desperate for help and all the doors are shut I can relate. Good luck and don't give up.

Ms. Dr. Baber is in North College Hill and her number is 513-541-2300. Good luck. My 18 year old daughter celebrated being clean 1 month on Friday. You have to want to get off the stuff in order for it to work. She is like her old self again. I actually let her visit my home after being kicked out for stealing before Christmas. I wish you well.

i have been on suboaone for about 3 months and i feell ok all day long !!
i take 8 a day though and it only costs me $3 for a week !!
i live in bloomington il ,,i know how it feels to not have anything and i could not do it so i checked into a detox unit, i called around and found one for $60 or so they took me in and i only had to stay 2 days , they told me 2 days but then after i get there they said 5-7 days , and that i would leave there with no way to get the suboxone, i was so mad after being there for a day and they told me on the phone i would only have to be there for 2 days and then i would leave with pills and be accepted into a program, i bitched and had my mom call the lady that told us that i would get into the program and then 10min later they said they made a mistake and said i did get into the program and that i would leave with pills, (thats what part of the $60 was for) if they did not let me get into that program i would have left that day cause i knew if i went home with nothing i would not be able to make it , anyway suboxone is great and i only had to stay in the detox for 2 days !!
if you can find a place by you like this it is well worth it, the pills are $3 for 56 (1 weeks worth) because i have the medical card, otherwise they do cost allot as the other person said , i had to quit smoking chronic though , and i have to go to groups 2 times i week and stuff but it is well worth it ,i just was looking for info about them dissolving cause i put one on each side of my mouth under the tough and one side seems to dissolve way faster and i dont really feel it under my toug and the other side takes longer and i can feel it underthere and i wanted to know if it is better for it to take longer or not?
i just thought i would share what i have been through and how i feel about suboxone ,it is great, im worried about going lower on the does, i dont want to get back on morphine or H .
Thanks and good luck to everyone

Have been on perc for the past 5 years. It started with 5s and 7.5s then progressed to over 4 30s a day. I would do ocs and morphine when eveer I got that too. About 6 months ago I started f***ing with that black. Im at the point where I smoke over a gram a day in just a couple hours . I lost A LOT of weight when I started messing with the bt. I have to have it to sleep, to get out of bed, to work, everything. Anyways I just started suboxone today bc I lost my bt and can't sleep. I got them from my h man (how ironic), anyways they are 8mg and ii don't know the dosage and such. Can anyone giive me some valuble info please. Im detoxing and I've never not had 30s or h. Thank you

J299 - the 30's you were taking was way too many a day, your heart couldve collapsed.. im glad u decided on suboxin. like all the people who got prescriptions for it, you can take a few a day.. youre supposed to take them by halves, let it dissolve under the tongue and ONLY take it when your withdrawal symptoms are at their worst. thats where people go wrong and start taking it back to back; this causes you to actually get addicted to the suboxin, and then youll have to find something to get you off thatt.. i think thats about it; good luckkk =)

and D337 - im not sure what kind of pain you're in but suboxin is a drug to get you OFF opiettes, it has a very small percent of an opiette in it, however its purpose is not to work as a pain killer.. you should look for a doctor who will prescribe you percs or roxies for the pain; and you will take that risk of getting addicted.. however if you had a prescription for one of these drugs at some point in life, a doctor should be able to help you out =)

Bec- after an addict tries to get off opiettes and turns to suboxin, chances are high of getting addicted to the suboxin itself. therefore it should be used in proper dosages, what you should work on is his mentality and try to change his life in a better direction; he needs to see that he doesnt need any pills to use as a crutch because in the long term who wants to cut their life short?

& Poppy- i've tried suboxin several times to stop taking opiate, and basically what it does is replace the dope feeling with a slighter dope feeling because suboxin in fact has some opiate in it, thats why its so addictive and like u pointed out the drugs he used changed his mentality in every way and especially about life. when youre not on a straight sober head theres a thin line between what you think you should or shouldnt do. and he probably didnt see a point in living anymore because he couldnt live a normal life and he depended on pills. when ur on them you feel like you can rule the world, but when you wake up in the morning you feel worthless and weak.

SUBOXONE is the one and only drug that will immediately stop opiate withdrawal. I call it my miracle drug. Doctors have to have a special license from the DEA to prescribe it. It's usually a psychiatrist.

From what I've heard most people figure they'll be on Suboxone for life. It's like any other chronic disease that you need medicine for. Would it help if you see it that way? That said, I was on OxyContin 80mg 3x per day for chronic pain after being hit by an 18-wheeler. My doctor retired but before that he wrote me a prescription - enough to wean off. It took months and at first I felt the physiological need, but slowly I weaned off. It's not the same with addiction, so I'd be very careful if I were you. Maybe talk to your primary care doctor to see if they can help you reduce the dose. I wouldn't recommend talking to anyone at the Suboxone clinic because it's more lucrative for them if you need it. The more patients the more funding they get. Pretty messed up, but that's how it works. Good luck.
