Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 6)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

I saw a new Dr being on four 2mg bars of Xanax a day for years now. He also wanted me to try getting off of them and switch me to Klonopin. They are not near the same and the Klonopin made me feel just not myself all of the time plus gave my splitting headaches. The only thing I can say they may have done is let me go a bit longer between my doses of Xanax but definitely not a substitute for most. I went back to my old Dr and think I will be sticking with him. Ever since they moved it to a Schedule 4 drug this year it has done nothing but hurt the people who truly need it. Those who abuse it or take illegally will always find a way. These new laws do nothing good. For the first time since taking these pills I actually had to call a day off of work because they wouldn't refill my pills after 29 days and with the hours they have I had to wait until they opened at 10:00 on day 30. With working at 8:00 I have a feeling I am going to have to call off again this month because I can't go into work without my medication. It seems like they made this change right after Justin Beiber came back positive for the drug when he got his DUI.

Joe I agree I saw my doctor yesterday because I cant get below 1 mg and feel like sh*t & I cant sleep ! Im up every night all night and wake up about 8 830 all drowsy and foggy . This is a problem because i have to return to work in 2 weeks and ive been like this for at least 4 weeks. He told me to not taper any more and stay at 1 mg or a little more if i needed it. A dentist who is in my IOP tells me he has been off completely for over 30 days and is a miserable mess . He detoxed from zanex & subs He was physically shaking yesterday like alcohol WD's in class and feels like his skin is crawling and and is just lives in a fog. They gave him NO meds a after detox.His wife gives him some zanex when he starts to have panic attacks because of it. I gave him e a 1/2 mg that i had with me for back up and he rallied enough to make the rest of the day, He had asked to see a doctor when he walked in the door but none where available. The guy OBVIOUSLY needs something I dont know why the doctor wont se him he has been asking everyday. I know everyone is different but i def felt better on zanex but i abused it so I cant go back to that . Today i just take my 1mg split between am & pm I hope it gets better so i can go back to work. Ive been out for almost 2.5 months I cant go back in a fog ! I was supposed to be totally off them No way i could do that in 60 days at least not me Drugs Suck Esp Benzo's No one would touch them if they knew how bad the end was .... no one . Its amazing how some Dr's just write the scripts for them like nothing and then people realize they are trapped and its to late

No! Its illegal to fill early. ppl like you is why docs are skeptical to perscribe this to ppl who actually really need it on a daily basis. quit ruining it for other ppl !

The guy you told to shut up was trying to help you. I just read the laws on the FDA and DEA site. YOU are being watched. We all are. You could have gotten in serious trouble for giving your meds out if that person got hurt is the biggest to stand out in my mind. Even though you got a new scrip, it's the same med, and they all know you have 7 days left. By going to different pharmacies, and filling out your private information you are what they call Pharmacy Hopping... You have to wait the 7 days or 4 days to pay cash. It was nice to help your friend, but in doing so you put yourself in a position that you really don't want to be in. No paranoia. FACT. The DEA and FDA have their hands so far up the Dr's and Pharmacies asses they could not help you if they wanted to. It's so outrageous for the FDA and DEA to be all over legal medication, why? Because they can't get a handle on the Meth problem so they screw with those who are in legitimate pain? Then we have the asses that are selling their medications so those of us doing what WE ARE SUPPOSE TO. We get screwed. Even if you want to go out of town you have to get permission! Your life is not your life any longer as long as your are bound and tied by a prescription. I tried to fill on a Friday, my brother in law has terminal cancer, so we could visit far away. I had to wait till Sunday to take the trip, pharmacy refused to fill. The worst pharmacy by far is WALGREENS....

Right on John' I asked for early refill for diazapam (1 week early) and was denied by CVS. I asked for 7 pills untill I could refill whole RX & again no, per CVS. Yes, it's my bad, but honestly it's not like I'm asking for crack. It's 5 MG of diazepam. My coping skills are at a low. And now stars the withdrawl. Great.

Xanax is not a narcotic, its a benzodiazapine control 2 substance. The earliest allowed to refill is 4 days early. A narcotic med, pain killers, sleep aids, etc., can only be filled exactly 30 days from time of first fill.

Now that the FDA is involved you cant even go to a hospital without them knowing about each other its all because of Anna Nichole. and Michael Jackson, don't get me wrong I am a Jackson lover, and he died to soon, and it was because of drugs so they put down the law and no matter were you go they are all hooked together, sorry unless you say you are leaving for Shasta and your sister has a timeshare and you will just pay for the early refill. if they say fine, then no problem but if they say we need to call your Dr then just say its ok I will try and make it with what I have left its up to the pharmacy, if he wants to give em up early. good luck.

no it the movie stars who have been dying in these last few years not the meth addicts The DEA and FDA want MDs to write for people who really, really need them, and if they go into a drs office and he/she cant show legitimate proof as to why this patient is on so much, well then the doctor can loose there license, thank Anna Nichole and Michael Jackson, this didn't start happening until there death, and I am a Jackson fan he died way to young,

First, giving part of your prescriptiont tp a friend is hopelessly irresponsible, and is part of the reason we're in this mess. Would you let your mechanic remove your appendix?
Second, it NOT illegal to refill a c2 early. Although in this case perhaps it should be.

the DEA and FDA are coming down on all early refills, they are all now hooked together so no way can you get an early refill unless you say you will pay for it and you are going to Shasta, say your friends have a time share and your leaving early tomorrow, good luck

This is not true! Xanax is a narcotic and it varies by STATE law whether you can fill it several days in advance! I've filled Oxycodone here in NY 7 days prior to the 30th day of the previous script! I can fill my Xanax 10 days prior! Here in NY Xanax can no longer have refills either! You can have a doctor prescribe a 30 day supply or 90 Day! If a refill was written it will be void! Most states are FDA regulated so insurance or not once your info is added to the database you will come up whether a pharmacy or doctor looks you up! In NY you can no longer pay out of pocket for controlled substances either to have a script filled early! If your pharmacy is allowing it then they are not abiding by YOUR STATE LAW!

Prescription Monitoring Programs which track your prescriptions are state based, not federal. You need to check your state laws regarding what and when the info is entered into the database. If a state law has a med on a stricter schedule that federal law does, state law is the one that is gone by. Not all state laws restrict paying cash for early refills. All laws governing this are also in your state laws. Many of the PMP are linking to the states around them and not just the state they're in.

ZANAX IS NOT A SCHEDUALE 2 NARCOTIC, IT IS A SCHEDULE 3 IT IS UP TO THE PHARMACY F YOU CAN GET IT EARLY THEY MAY CALL YOUR DR, BUT NO SCHEDUA;E 2 WOULD HAVE A REFILL ON IT MY SCHEULE 2'S I AVE TO PICK UP BECAUSE THEY CANT HAVE REFILLS AND ZANAX DOES JUST LIKE KLONOPIN. AND TEMAZAPAM FOR SLEEP THEY ARE ALL SCHEDULE 3'S AND ARE BENZOS

In the State of New York, effective March 27, 2013, Xanex (Alprazolam) along with some other drugs that aren't Schedule II Are Not Refillable. Look up Your State Laws.

Xanax, opiates(narcotics) are both considered a controlled substance and yes there is a database in place that tracks every time you fill and refill your prescription. I am definitely not one to preach on how bad it is to share your prescription medications (I have my own demons) but those who have said on here not to share are absolutely correct! Xanax is dangerous just because you may be used to taking them does not mean your friend is. Having been there as others would agree is not something I would wish on my worst enemy.

Several years ago I was on Xanax. At first, just 0.25mg before bedtime. Then I started having more and more anxiety during the day and that 0.25mg tablet was increased to 0.5 and then 1mg. All the while my anxiety kept increasing. I did not put two and two together to see what was happening. I also started making irrational decisions and extreme life choices. I ended up in divorce. Later on my new husband and I became pregnant. I quit the Xanax cold turkey. I became severely depressed and stayed in bed for about 5 months or more. Slowly tho my mind came out of that strange "fog". Now it's been about 2.5 years since I last took a Xanax and I can see so clearly. That Xanax is a terrible drug. Coming off it makes you suicidal. I've heard terrible stories from a lot of other people as well. I would try to encourage everyone to try and taper off and switch to something else.

It ruined my life and I was not even misusing it. I wish I had known then, what I know now :(
