Pulled Over With Crusher And Straw

Well I was driving home tonight when I saw the red and blues. I completely forgot I had my crusher and straw in my glove box mind you. Pulled me over for hitting the white line, was just an accident no intoxication or anything like that. Anyway for some reason he asks if he can look around in my car I say sure go ahead, he finds it. It has my straw and 3 5mg hydrocodone and 1 10mg methadone. He asks is this yours, what can I say???? Yes sir it is, he asks whos pills are these? They are mine I do have scripts for them. Which I really do, but not for the methadone. He asks what they are and I just say hyydrocodone, didn't mention the methadone. He asks if I snort them? I can't lie there is a f***ing straw in there, I say honestly sir I have once before because I was curious, that has been in there for months and I completely forgot about it. He thanks me for being honest and doesn't arrest me doesn't impound my car.
Now here is where I'm confused, he says he has to turn it in and it will be up to the courts if they want to press charges, I never sign anything, no paper work was given or shown to me. He takes my crusher and pills and I leave. Mind you I have a completely clean record, nothing at all except a speeding ticket.

So what happens now? He said I'll get some paper work in the mail in a couple weeks or so letting me know what is going on. The thing is I never signed anything. Something seems fishy like he forgot something and I can get out of it. A friend of mine says he probably threw it out the window and was just scaring me. I don't believe this I think I'll get some paperwork and do as it says but is there a way out of this? I am going to the dr office to get a printout of all my prescribed meds so I have proof that the hydro was mine, but what about the methadone? I'm so scared because I have a clean record and I don't know what to do. Someone please give me some advise thank you.
