Photos Of Klonazapam Stating Mgs For Each Color

Updated

i am confused by two different pills the pharmacy claims to be Klonapin -even though one of the pills is yellow and the other blue! How can both of these be the same dosage and pill? They told me it was due to a shortage from the company they placed their order with and didnt have enough to fill the blue ones i have always taken, i am nervous not knowing what these yellow pills actually are. The klonapin i have always taken is 1mg and rather oblong and very blue not YELLOW

Hello, Todash19! Sorry about the confusion, I'm happy to clear this up for you.

Klonopin is just the name brand, which is made for a certain period of time exclusively by one company….however, when the proprietary patent expires, a name brand medication will become available as a generic. The generics are available under the name of the active ingredient, which in this case is Clonazepam.

Generics are usually manufactured in all the available dosages by several different companies, this helps to create competition in the market to keep prices as low as possible for uninsured people.

Thus, one company can make a blue tablet that contains 1mg of Clonazepam, but another company may make a yellow tablet that contains 1mg of Clonazepam. So, both are the same medication in the same dosage, they've just been manufactured by different companies.

There are actually no guidelines that they have to follow regarding the color, they can make them whatever color they wish.

The only time there is just one of each dosage available is when a medication is only available as a name brand.

Is there anything else I can help with?

This medication is a benzodiazepine, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

THE BLUE AND YELLOW ARE 1MG OF KLONOPIN THE REASON THERE IN TWO DIFFERENT COLORS ARE BECAUSE THEY WERE MANUFACTURED BY TWO DIFFERENT PHARMICUTICUALS
