Phentermine Anyone Have Strange Side Effects? (Page 14)

I just started taking this medicine for weight loss. I am having hot flashes and cold chills, terrible headache and a tingly head. I feel awful. Has anybody taken this and had the same reaction? If so did it pass after a few days? Gotta say this...I am not ever hungry! Like to hear from anyone that has taken this med. Thanks :)

Read thr interactions list, which is very long! No alcohol consumption, acetaminophen, cold meds and many other drugs are highly interactive

I have been on phentermine for 4 days and I have been having a headache all four days but I will not take them nomore I don't feel hungry its seems I'm not getting sleep....and its only 15mg I just don't no what's going on any help on how to get rid of the headache...and I drink plenty of water

I have been taking Phentermine for about 6 yrs now. I don't recall having that many bad side effects. In fact if I am being totally honest, I recall the 1st week I was on it sitting in my office at work laughing, telling a friend, that it actually gave me really nice all over body feeling. However, those warm happy fuzzy feelings only lasted a day or two.

I started taking this for weight loss. It suppressed my appetite, however, I never lost any weight. See I am a chronic pain patient, who has had many back surgeries over the past few years.

I weighed about 130 lbs my entire life, have 3 kids, never gained a single pound & out ate every guy I knew! I was just a 5'8" athletic size (w/out the muscle cuz I never exercised) build, not super skinny, just average size 5 or so. Then I had my 1st back surgery & everything changed.

Since my surgery I have been on a s*** ton of pain meds, each w/ side effects. 1 of which is weight gain. That is why I started the Phentermine. It's supposed to only be taken for 3 months, then u take a break from it. However, although I did not lose any weight, it did help balance out the drowsiness, constant yawning, & brain fog, brought on by the muscle relaxers & opiates I was taking for pain. So my doctor allowed me to keep taking it. So i have been on it consistently for about 6 yrs now. I think the dose is like 36 mg or something like that.

Any noticeable side effects I had went away after about 1 week. Now I take such a combination of drugs it's hard to say which one causes each side effect. I will say, I do get occasional headaches [sometimes on the verge of turning into a migraine]. I also get hot ALL THE TIME! I was always cold, slept w/ socks on kinda girl, now I sleep w/ the fan blowing on me uncovered w/ the air conditioning on high & I still feel hot.

All in all I think generally this drug should have very low side effects if any after about a week.

I'm taking phendimetrazine 105mg... Under my eyes are very sensitive. Wake up with bags n swollen... Anybody else had this?

Ok, this is concerning to me. Phentermine is noting more than an amphetamine, which has obvious side effects. The fact that I continually read that people are on legal speed for years makes me wonder if it is worth it. I just started it a week ago and have had to cut back to using the 15mg every other day due to the joint pain, increased heart rate, burning eyes and off feeling in my throat. I wish I could control my eating so I didn't have to rely on a drug to do it. This doesn't give us leeway to just eat liekc rap for years and use it as a way to feel good.

My headache went away on day 5. Now I have nausea and diarrhea. If things don't change by Friday I'm done.

I had the same side effect. I went off if it for several months and when I went back on it I started sucking on my tongue again.

I am an RN who has put on too much weight post menopause...tried everything finally gave in to Dr suggestion to lose weight Phentermine 30 mg a day. Massive nightmares, headaches,palpitations and no weight loss.. not one kg in two weeks. I stopped it and Dr said to go back on it even though I said I was having major side effects!
After stopping meds...have had three months of facial sweating and no temperature..its actually only 35.5 C.

I take half in the morning. It lasts all day. I took it in 2005 at my heavest I lost 80lbs in 6 months. Worked out once in awhile. I started again two weeks ago only take half. If I took a whole one I would feel nauseated and gag. It works its a great jump start. If you follow it and exercise you can lose 15 lbs a month. Fruit and veggies. My friend lost 30 in 3 months for her wedding. Good luck. Im 5'7 Week and half ago I weighed 228.5 today I weigh 210. No looking back ill be 48 in October.

I had 30mg daily for two weeks .no wt loss and made me really hungry! .. Stopped it due to major side effects crazy nightmares ... Headaches major stabbing pains in head too.. Facial sweating ..Sleeping only four hours a night and no wt loss. Problems still going on over two months off it!! Mainly facial sweating cold sweats feel like flu hot in face but no temp. Dr thought I should go back on them!!!! I got him to reference to endocrinologist before in now thinking this only started the week I started phentermjne !!! But crazy over two months off them and still problems too with stabbing pain in head don't take it !!

I've been on phentermine for about 3 going on 4 months now and I've lost a little more than 10lbs, which is great. When I started I was taking 15mg and now I'm taking 30mg. The side effects are killing me (not literally). I get hot flashes every single day and they last hours. My face literally drips with sweat. It seems I also have developed a bit of cystic acne around my chin. My face is prone to acne but these are the worst and most embarrassing because they aren't easy to cover with makeup. I have absolutely no libido anymore (being 23 and trying to start a family) it's kind of a problem. And the insomnia is awful, I've literally gotten 3-4 hours of sleep in the last 3 days.

Are you sure you're prescribed phentermine? It comes in 37.5 mg not 15 or 30mg.

I have been on them for 6 weeks and down 10lbs. Even though its hard to do try to get in at least 1500 calories a day. I use a calorie counter and tracker. I notice on days my calorie count is lower, like 800 to 1000, I feel terrible. Sugar is a really big problem for me on phentermine. I literally feel like crawling out of my skin when I combine too much together. Hopefully you find your right combination.

Shortcakes i took my first pill yesterday morning a half hour after i ate and an half an hour later. i felt strange slight headace all day i cannot sleep im still awake well thats all for right now. I pray all is well with everyone.

That stuff should be way out of your system by now. Perhaps something else is going on? I've been on it over 6 months and have no issues except for the fact that if it's summer and I'm working outside and sweating, my scalp seems to sweat way more than it used to. I also experienced a huge upward flux in my libido. :) I'd like to keep that! lol

I'm in Australia, we have Duromine which is phen. 15, 30 & 45mg capsules. . Around $116 for 30 pills.
Makes me sweat heaps, especially in face.I'm not hungry but if I make myself eat and drink lots of water, the side effects lessen.
