Is there a difference in (Percocet or Vicodin) peach 229 and yellow 4827?

To clarify and avoid confusion for others that may read this post, I'd like to note that Percocet and Vicodin aren't the same thing. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, while Vicodin contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

That said, the two pills that you've listed both contain 7.5mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, but they've been manufactured by different companies. The one with the 229 marking is made by Alvogen Inc. and the one with the 4827 V has been manufactured by Vintage/Qualitest Pharmaceuticals.

Did qualitest stop making vicodin? I've been on same ones for ruptured disk, bone disease, etc... And now the 229 by alvogen are burning my skin and I'm stuck w them the whole month. I'm in pain clinic for five years now five surgery please help. Ty for you help

They have a recall now, but just a minor setback I think. You have to tell your doctor immediately to change your meds. A burning sensation caused by what you're taking can mean a number of things, the worst being an allergic reaction to the oxycodone. He has to switch you to Hydrocodone again. Tell him that the oxy is too strong for you, it is much stronger and can cause flushing, sweats, chills, nausea, impotence, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, euphoria, Feeling of burning skin for sure, etc… Once you're back on your 7.5mg's of Hydro you'll be okay. It's a wonder such a weak pill can help you considering all your issues, you're very lucky. Try lortab or Vicoden by another co. or Norco, it's what you have been taking, comes in same strengths I believe and won't make you feel high or cause burning feelings since you're used to taking them. I wonder why he went to something stronger anyway? Maybe he was just giving you something stronger because you deserve a break. Some doctors can do things like that if they feel like it will agree with you and they love getting you into the stronger stuff then dropping you back down to your weaker meds causing you to take more and run out and go through withdrawals. They are all sadistic. Before its too late get on what you were taking under a different name and say if you weren't going to keep me on them thanks for trying to screw up my entire body and brain with your treat. See how he reacts to that. Say how did you expect me to go back after this. Then again he may be okay and was willing to keep you on the oxy but since you can't stick it out do what I said. You'll be much better off in the long run. The burning is you becoming Flush, you're okay, take a shower and call the doctor and say these don't agree with you.. He'll have you come in, get paid again and give you one of the ones I mentioned. Maybe ask him for 10mg Oxymorphone, IR, maybe you'll react better to that, ask him to try them, like 4-5 a day. it's worth a shot.
