Oxymorphone Related To Oxycodone? (Page 3)

I need to know if oxycodone is in any way related to oxymorphone. Does oxycodone break down in the system and then throw out oxymorphone chemicals like my doctor told me or is my urine test flawed like I believe it to be. There is no way I could have either one of these in my system yet my doctor (who really does not want to treat pain by medication only due to lack of payment by insurance company) tells me that the oxymorphone in my system is actually a chemical breakdown from the oxycodone. Comments or actual accurate knowledge anyone?

Oxycodone has an active metabolite of oxymorphone and many others metobolites. Oxymorphone has no active metabolites other than itself, a prodrug, oxymorphone.

okay my question is i have three buldged disc and only had been taking oyycodone perks will the oxymorphones be just like them im very confused and want to know if it will work or make me sick im so confused

If i took oxycodone my cousin gave me bcuz i was so sick because the abusive drunk i lived broke in and stole EVERYTHING, will it show up as oxymorphone. I put residue from oxymorphone in my urine.but am terrifed i will fail bcuz my doc sends everything to the lab. There wont be metabolites in it. This was last month before i kicked him out for stealing my meds. I had nothing so i put my urine ine the bottke thinking it woukd show up until i read the internet to find out that they look for metabolites. I dont do anything wrong just got mixed up with a psycho who stole them from me. I have to go live witht family now to keep him away. Im terrified i will lose my doctor and ive told my doc he stole from me bcuz ive tested neg b4. Hes gonna get sick of hearing it and discharge me affer 10 years and what do i do then? I have Lupus and many other health issues.

If i took 2 30mg oxycodone and am prescribed oxymorphone will they find out or will it show the same. I took then at 7am this morning and go 2morrow at 2:45. Dont know if they will test me. I had a raging bf who broke in and stole my money and meds and some gave me these bcuz i was so sick. Last month same thing i took my last oxymorphone and threw it up so i got tested and paniced and put my urine in the bottle for the residue. Dont know if i ingested enough to produce metabolites but am worried that they wont show and it will show the presence of the residue so they might test me on the spot tomorrow. Should i take clean urine better clean thsn dirty. Ive been having problems testing negstive bcuz this psycho takes my meds down to my blood pressure meds. I finally got rid of him but am terrified of losing my doc ive been going to for 10 years. Anyone know anything about this?

#43, u alway report stolen meds to the police. It's in the pain contract when u sign it to report them as soon as they r stolen for your safety n therefore they know why u r negative. My sister's BIL stole my percocet n Klonopin back 6 months ago n I reported him to the police right away. It saved my butt. My input on the drug screen. My dr has been questioning me on why I test positive for opiate when I take oxycodone. I had to explain to him thst it breaks down into it. I also test slightly negative, barely positive on Klonopin. His nurse said it's very common w the test he uses n explained to me thst it tests low for benzo when taking Klonopin, but all other benzos show up very positive. So she explained that she can tell if I were to take a Xanax for example n not just my Klonopin bc Xanax shows more positive on his certain test thst he uses in his office. I have urinary problems n my dr knows. So today he sent me next door to Florida hospital to do a lab UA. I hope the lab UA from the hospital finally clears up any doubt he has. He still gives me my RX bc he wants to trust me bc I've been seeing him for yrs. I think he just wants to make sure to protect himself, but when RXing these meds drs should be educated on the way the med breaks down n metabolizes in your system bc 1 day I was accused of doing more meds than just oxycodone n I told him I felt extremely upset n as though I was being treated like a drug addict when they don't know how a med breaks down in your system. So I do hope this lab test clears this situation up w my drs office bc I'm tired of being accused of doing or taking something I'm not. I actually googled it for him n showed him n he now understands n still sent me for further testing. Which is ok w me bc it'll finally clear up this mistake on the cheap office test.

I have personally witnessed MULTIPLE pharmacy errors. I go around 3 times a month. They f*** up all the time.

Vicadin is hydrocodone not oxycodone,which is percacet/percadan/OxyContin. I think hydrocodone is metabolized into hydromorphone,dilaudid,but not 100% positive

I am a pain mangement specialist who does both interventional mgt and medication mgt. Do you really want a doc who tests but doesn't know the metabolites of the drugs they prescribe? Especiallyif they make clinical decisions based on that?

i take oxymorphone and a urine screen tested positive for oxycodone 2 times and dr says i have taken oxycodone and i have not does anyone know if they test close to same i know i havent taken oxycodone only oxymorphone

Ok gotta question. I am on Norco which I know shows up as hydrocodone and I'm on 30mg morphine er.. It shows up in my system as oxymorphone...is that right? I'm not taking anything that has oxycodone in it at all.just really curious to this. I even went and bought 2 drug tests at Walgreens which was a 12 panel which tested for everything I take. I peed in one using my own urine and used my son's urine in the other and crushed up a half a Norco and half of a morphine 30mg we. Both tested exactly the same showing I had oxymorphone in both samples. So I'm taking it as morphine breaks down the same way as anything with oxycodone in it? If I'm wrong please correct me. Just really curious to this. Thanks

I thought Vicodin was hydrocodone not oxycodone. Because in the drug test I take 5mg vicodone and 10mg oxycodone and they both show up different. It test positive for hydrocodone for the Vicodin and oxycodone for the percocets.

just to know and what are the common name that oxycodone and oxymorphone are used in as grv racing found some traces in my greyhound and we do not use any drugs on or near our dogs ,unless given by a vet.

I am a DO that currently specializes in pathology so I need to know the mechanisms of action with every drug that could cause death.

Oxycodone/OxyContin(timed released oxycodone) once broken down in the body has a metabolite of oxymoron one in 9.5/10 patients. However it cannot be reversed. Say someone taking opana showed up positive for oxycodone...your nixed because your body cannot reverse engineer it so to speak...but if your prescribed oxycodone and come up positive for oxymorphone...your in the clear. And here is the kicker...since oxymorphone had a longer half life than oxycodone...there are MANY people who have higher amounts of oxymorphone than oxycodone even though all they take is oxycodone.

P.s. Everyone's body breaks down stuff differently, so there is no way (as of yet) that can prove a person on oxycodone also took an unprescribed oxymorphone (opana)

Vicoden and oxycodone are not the same and will not show up the same on a drug screen no matter what type it is - they metabolize differently.

The only thing that I take is 10mg Oxycodone. My drug test came back positive for Oxycodone, Noroxycodone and Oxymorphone. This should not be possible because I know without a doubt that I did not take anything but the plain Oxycodone. I am puzzled!
