Oxycodone South Florida

still oxycodone shortage in south florida?I may be relocating in the next six mos. or so.So many having difficulty lately.Im wondering if when a patient is told by pharmacist they are out stock,really they ran them through the new rx tracking system & found at one time or another they had seen other Docs etc.and just say there out to avoid conflict.It seems if s fl docs are still writing scripts some place somewheres gotta be filling them!! At least thats what I keep telling myself...........

Hello, Patriciag! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having.

There are actually 2 different issues contributing to your east coast shortage.

One is that a major pharmaceutical distributor was forced to discontinue their service, due to their being brought under suspicion for moving larger amounts of controlled substances than other similarly sized distributors.

And the second is that each year, every company that manufactures controlled substances is given a certain manufacturing allotment for the year. Once they reach that number, they cannot produce any new product, until into the new year, when they receive their new allotment amount. This is done to try to keep better track of the supply.

Thus, towards the end of the year, it's always difficult to get prescriptions filled for controlled substances and there's an added issue this year that's making it even worse.

It's because of people like you who apparently knows all about Dr shopping & live out of state that make it nearly impossible for people like me who are honest & honestly are permanently disabled & have real pain issues to get the medication they need.

I know people without documented medical problems getting and filling RX's frequently.. I've been in pain management for over 10 years with some serious issues that have been thoroughly tasted and documented And it is a struggle to find medication when my Dr. Changes it.. North West FL has a huge shortage and it is because RX ABUSE is rampant.. People either get the pills and abuse them/get them and sell them or a combination of both. My pain mananagement clinic had to post a notice that they couldn't help people find medication any longer... I read these boards and it's pretty easy to identify a users and addicts from those with legitimate needs.. But have learned addicts don't care .. They steal from their family when they can't get their own.. Any of you in the addict category I hope you stop because one day you'll need surgery or have an accident and your "legitimate" pain will not be treatable..
