Hello, Auntie! How are you?

These tablets are manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list them as being regular release tablets, so they begin to work about 15 to 20 minutes after you take them.

The OxyIR is only available in 5mg capsules.

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Just probably should clarify... it all depends on how long you take it but daily for a couple of months and a habit isnt a possibility... a physical dependence is a promise. Even a pill per day causes tolerance which is the first signs of physical dependence.... its roughly 72hrs between pills to avoid tolerance.... a week is the safest.... I will just throw it out there since I have been down this road.... if you are not truly in pain please dont take them... the future is waking up feeling sick as a can be... if thats the case i advise grabbing your morning dose asap and dont move for about 30... then you can be a human... opiates have a place and for people that cant function without them the trade off is worth it but for the ones I know that took it for fun a little too long either ran out of money (some worse) but when they are cut off its about 3 days of feeling like you have the flu... extremely sensitive... hot cold sweats back and forth... stomach is too messed up to eat anything solid (boost drinks are a god send) and you will be making frequent bathroom runs which are not comfortable... but now that you know where all opiate physical addiction ends up and you legit need the meds then its probably a decent trade off. Ended up with a jacked up back from some bad luck and just not taking that great care of myself so im on oxycontin and codone for the long haul and i function fairly normally... I was a little curious to see how hard it was to kick the dependence and yeah its not easy especially when some parts start hurting too much to move... still kicked it for a week... and then went right back on it because i couldnt do anything more than basic care.... If you do go down that road I hope youre not a control freak like me because that pill will be your new overlord.... you will take it on schedule or it will remind you quickly to take it and refusing to only makes things worse.... drives me nuts but i live a fairly regular life. The part I think that bothers me the most if the pharmicist... everytime i walk in hand over the script then he looks at me and essentially rolls his eyes and tells me it will be ready in about an hour... slightly irritating when they have my medical codes on the script so if he took half a second to look them up he would see this inst a ooo im in so much pain but it will fix itself.... no sorry its permanent (they said surgery might fix it... not in any hurry for a surgery that most people say doesn't help and sometimes makes things worse... a few dr consultations concurred and so nope) I get to get the stink eye from someone that doesnt know me. Slight sidetrack from your direct question... but thought I would pass on a different aspect since there are other options for many people that dont have the life ruling side.

by the way should clarify there is a difference between a junky and someone that needs it and has a physical dependence.... most dont treat it different but when you take more than you're prescribed then its heading into junky territory... if its too low of a dose then call your doctor... depending on your issue it really might be too low.... the 10mg didn't do anything for me but oddly only 5 more mg so 15mg instants would stop a flare up enough.... and with the war on pain killers atm if your drug panel results come up without it in your body and if they lab it to check levels then you might as well consider yourself done at that office and if he truly wants to push it then there is a federal database that says all narcotics you fill and doctors can write notes in there... have heard of people that were legit hurting more than the meds so they took them for adequate relief and then called in about a week early and negative cut off. If you decide to come down this road then welcome to your new life.

Yes the 10 mg is instant relief ,OxyContin is the time release ,I read here some one said only Oxcotin Er. Only comes in 10mg not true, I get OxyContin 30 mg Er,so don't believe every thing you read on this sight.the 30 oxy Er is a purplish color and you can still get the time release out, won't go into details about that but you can!
