The difference is you set your mind on quitting and i believe you can do anything ya set ya mind too. But with the dose they are handing out its seems like they want to get people hooked when pp are coming for help. And why a pill form and a strip?

Sorry to bother ya again but just wanted to ask how long has it been since you stopped taking soboxone? And did you get sick from not having the suboxones? My friend been trying to quit suboxones for two months. Said he was sick everyday without. Finally couldn't take it anymore and went back to the clinic

I only take subs as needed, I can go a week with nothing but ill get just a little jonesy feeling so ill take what ever I need never more than 1/3 strip for the day, I've made a script last two months now with have the script not even filled yet.

I've not gotten sick from not taking the subs I contribute this to the fact I didn't take the dosage first prescribed to me, they told me at the clinic I wouldn't be able to wean that quick after taking the dosage of Oxys so long but I did.

If I can help you any way let me know. I know first hand the hell opiates can bring. I was on them for most of my adult life and I'm 41 now so yeah it's been along time coming. Good luck I hope your friend does ok

Where are you located, and not to pry into your business but what reasoning did the doctor give you for such a rapid dosage increase in pain medications. Most or should I say docs that actually care about their patients quality of life will taper slowly and that's only if there's legitimate reason for dosage reduction.
Primary reasons for decreased dosage are but not limited to are signs of dependence, asking for refills before its time, asking for dosage increase too fast, signs of withdrawal when you should have medication to spare and so on and so on.
In your condition it shouldn't be a problem getting a doc to write your a script but sounds as if you have been treated very aggressively with medication 6x 30mg with 15 mg for break thru is pretty aggressive treatment only places I've seen that would prescribe these amounts were Florida and detroit MI, Florida is harder to find a willing doctor to write these scripts and if your from out of state forget it but there are still some Drs in Detroit that will write them my experience is just take a day or so cruising the pain clinics in strip malls and the two tale tale signs are lots of out of state tags waiting and enhanced security for example I saw a clinic this past July that had 2 patrolling guards in the parking lot and the building itself was only about 5000 sq feet ( 2 armed guards in the same parking lot) later I found this clinic writes everything they have posters on the walls for you to point and say I'd like to try that.

Sadly, the only thing I have been able to get my doctor to rx me for pain is 30's. I have BEGGED for Opana or long acting opiates for my chronic pain, I tried bupe patches up to 24mg (two patches at once), buprenorphine pills (same non-relief), and then if I ask to try anything else, nope! They give me short acting. Just FYI everyone, if you are a chronic pain sufferer, and you are getting oxy 30's, you do NOT feel high....if you take them as prescribed. But chronic pain, you should be on a long acting med. I have asked about morphine slow release, Opana, methadone, fentanyl patches, I had made a list of all of the long-acting formulations, even long-acting dilaudids, ANYTHING to where I don't have debilitating pain make me go insane every 4 to 6 hours, and be an insomniac at night. And yet, all ppl in Cali want to rx, is short acting drugs in massive doses. (The doctor who offered me the bupe in the beginning, he moved to another state, so now I only have my new doctor who won't offer ANY long-acting pain meds at all). It's fricking ridiculous. The pain management doctor I was seeing gave me buprenorphine patches for long term pain, with 60 30mg oxycodones for BT pain. The pharmacist told me that was unusual, and told me I would be better off choosing one or the other. So I tried the patches up to 24mg, then pills, and then the oxy only, and the oxy only was the thing that helped. I know from being in the hospital, that slow release morphine and slow release dilaudid work GREAT for me, but no one will rx these meds (which are SOOO cheap compared to oxy). See what's going on??? Just the same as doctors who won't RX the cheaper pills vs the newfangled migraine meds that are extremely expensive, with more side effects and chances of killing you than older, safer, more trusted drugs...I do not agree at all that if you have "legitimate" pain that you can find a doctor easy where you live.

Sad to say, most pain clinics and pain doctors, and even regular physicians, are not taking new patients. It's really hard to find openings. If you can't get IN to see the doctor, obviously it's not a matter of someone believing you - it's a matter of not being able to even get an appointment anywhere. The "it's me" character on this thread says they work in the medical field, yet their posts are littered with typos and random caps everywhere, excessive punctuation and just flat out ridiculous banter about how anyone who is in real pain can easily get help. Sorry, it just isn't the case. If you really work in the medical field, then you would probably already know that. Maybe if you lose your job and have your doctor you have right now move, you might understand the plight of a lot of people - legitimate pain patients - who simply can't even get appointments because of the limits on pain doctors who can only supply so many patients as per the law as far as Subutex/Suboxone and Buprenorphine...and since so many physicians are afraid of the DEA now, they tend not to want to RX anything anymore that is an opiate, and say go to a pain clinic. But wait - the pain clinics are full! The pain doctors aren't taking new patients! Hm.....and that's how you have a lot of desperate people, it isn't fair to say everyone is a junkie just because they have trouble finding a doctor to help them. Not everyone is so lucky. And after this Obamacare crap, a LOT of doctors have shut doors to new patients for 2015...just my 2 cents. Doctors are not perfect. For chronic pain, a lot of them still only give short-acting meds instead of the combo of short-acting breakthrough meds along with long-acting meds. I would even give up all of my oxy for just 2 Opana, if I could. But I can't. My doctor won't do it, he doesn't do "long acting" meds, because....well, just because he chooses not to! All you can do is keep researching, and trying to get in to a doctor who actually knows what they are dealing with with CPP's. Sadly, a lot of those doctors are retiring, and we have a lot of young doctors scared s***less of the government, and brainwashed into thinking that opiates are only for cancer...
