cmamd0l, There are NO good doctors in Bowling Green, KY at All period! They are all paid off lackies. You can not get any meds, or real medical care at all. The 2 neurosurgeons in town are older than the hills and do not operate. Get my meaning?

Jeff, try looking up Dr. Jaime Guerrero, he's in Louisville and has already been through the whole DEA raid thing (i believe it was in 11/2012)and they couldn't find any reason to shut him down, his office is called Advanced Pain Management. He's a kind and caring doctor, will do everything he can to help you, he may not start you on 30's unless you have proof that that's what you have been on but he will prescribe the 15's to start if you don't. He's pretty "by the book" bc of all the new laws that passed here so he will either start you on 4 a day of the 15's or 3 a day if its 30's, but will also write for non narcotic stuff (example, I also get Neurontin, 400 mg and flexaryl 10mg) that along with the pain meds really help. Hope this helps you

IT'S BEEN ADVISED TO NOT TRY TO GO TO DR. GUERRERO IN LOUISVILLE OR INDIANA OFFICE BY AN EMPLOYEE OF DR.G. WAS TOLD ANOTHER INVESTIGATION IS SUPPOSEDLY GOING ON NOW, UNBEKNOWNST TO THE PUBLIC, BUT SOURCE CAME FROM SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE AND HAS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. SOMETIMES THE OFFICES KNOW SEVERAL WEEKS AHEAD THAT THEY ARE BEING INVESTIGATED WHEN THE DEA COMES IN AND PULLS CHARTS TO REVIEW OF PATIENTS. THIS WILL BE SECOND TIME BEING INVESTIGATED IN LESS THAN A YEAR. I WAS ALSO TOLD PARKING LOT/GARAGE TO LOUISVILLE OFFICE HAS ALSO SUPPOSEDLY BEEN BEING WATCHE, AND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME PEOPLE ARRESTED/OR PICKED UP, TAKEN TO A LOCATION WHERE BEING QUESTIONED, LEAVING HIS OFFICE. BEEN TOLD INDIANA OFFICE BEING WATCHED ALSO. IMO, I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THERE. IT DID USED TO BE A GOOD OFFICE TO GO TO SEVERAL YEARS BACK. HE DOESN'T TAKE CASH PATIENTS UNLESS THEY WERE GOING TO HIM WITH INSURANCE AND LOST INSURANCE WHILE ALREADY PATIENT. RUNS URINE SCREENS THAT COST AROUND $1100.00. APPARENTLY, IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD (I'D SAY AN EMPLOYEE WOULD DEFINITELY BE A RELIABLE SOURCE, I THINK ANYWAY). IT MAY BE THAT PART OF THE PROBLEM IS THE AMOUNT OF PATIENTS SEEN PER DAY. A DR. HAS TO SPEND A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF FACE TO FACE TIME WITH A PATIENT TO BE ABLE TO BILL INSURANCE COMPANIES... DEPENDING ON AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT WITH PATIENTS FACE TO FACE IS WHAT DETERMINES LEVEL OF OFFICE VISIT TO BE CHARGED. AND, PATIENTS WAIT A WHILE, BUT ONCE SEEN, ONLY SEEN FOR COUPLE OF MINUTES... MAYBE 5MINS. WHICH IS NOT EVEN ENOUGH TIME ACCORDING TO AMA GUIDELINES TO BILL EVEN THE LOWEST LEVEL OFFICE VISIT. AGAIN, THIS IS JUST INFO I WAS TOLD FROM AN EMPLOYEE (FRIEND) ALSO.

EVERY CHRONIC PAIN PATIENT NEEDS TO GET TOGETHER SOMEHOW, AND WRITE YOUR SENATOR, CONGRESS...WHOEVER, AND SEE HOW PEOPLE WHO DID NOT ATTEND MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR ALL THE YEARS THAT OUR DOCTORS DID, CAN DECIDE WHAT IS APPROPRIATE TREATMENT FOR EACH PATIENT. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PROTECT EACH PATIENT AND LET THEM HAVE WHATEVER TREATMENT THEIR DOCTOR (WHO SPECIALIZES IN PAIN MANAGEMENT) DECIDE WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THEM, AND NOT SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HOW A PATIENT SHOULD BE TREATED.

IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. WHAT ABOUT PATIENT RIGHTS? AND THE HIPPA PRIVACY ACT? IT SEEMS THAT WHEN THEY GO INTO AN OFFICE AND PULL RANDOM CHARTS TO VIEW, THAT PATIENT'S PRIVACY IS BEING VIOLATED RIGHT THEN AND THERE!

I think that government has no place in health care, making laws Like the kaper system in KY. There never were methadone clinics in KY until very recently. Now I see the Dr.and pain clinics being turned in suboxone clinic /rehabs and advertise pain management. It will take another 10 years before the a**h***s realize they were wrong. When they start looking at a increased suicide rate.

DAVEJ23, thank you for the info, both my husband and I see Dr. Guerrero so I'm not sure what to do, if we left before anything happens they'll look at it like you're Dr. shopping and if we wait, well we could have to go a while without our meds and be sick. I just wish there were a something we could do but I don't think our government will listen regardless of how many calls we make or letters we write.

You're welcome. I hate that anything has happened to him. He is a wonderful doctor with a great personality, and wonderful bedside manners. I used to go to him about 5 years ago. The waiting room was always packed, and but I never minded the wait because it was well worth it. He is such a wonderful doctor. I'll keep you updated when or if I hear anymore.

It could be maybe just an insurance investigation. Maybe they are wondering why he orders urine screens that cost 1100.00 (when a urine screen where I currently go is only $25, and as far as pulling charts to review, maybe they are making sure he's documenting his charts accurately to be able to bill a higher level office visit... since there are actually 4 different levels of office visits that can be billed for. I hope for his sake, that it is just chart reviews to see if billing matches up with his documenation.

Something just has to give with all these new laws. If I knew who to contact about these law changes that are so drastic, I would post that on here so we could flood them with letters about how unfair it is to patients.

I'm sure the death toll from being without treatment, will rise, along with all the people overdosing everyday from Heroin that has overtaken the country. I never even knew Heroin to be around here. Always thought it was something that the Hollywood stars would do. Some people can't function at all without their medicine due to the chronic pain. I feel like they are going after the wrong people... the physicians. It's a sad situation. Again, I will continue to let you know anything else she (friend/employee) lets me know!

I hear you and thank you writing back!!I hate that, I am moving to a place close to bowling green and I figured the big city would be the most help. I have good insurance and don't mind all the hoops but i just can't function without the pain meds. They act like we chose to hurt so much. Who would chose to go this all if they didnt NEED help.

Davej23, thanks I appreciate it, it would be nice to have a heads up if I'm going to need to find another doc in a hurry. I do believe they are doing an insurance investigation, that is most likely needed, the $1100 is just the one charge from the "lab" and now there are others charges that have been billed to a "clinic" with the name of one of the workers for even more. I do like having him as my doctor though and don't want to switch. Thanks again

I can verify Dr Guerrero has been investigated as of 2 years ago it was all over the news..As for now I would not know other than ongoing investigations going on by Indiana state police.I seen him one time a long a few years back he was filling in for another Dr that went on a well lets say forced vacation. He was a nice to me others did not like him though lol. As for pain clinics going to Suboxone clinics I can say this is true also.My old pain management Dr did exactly that and cut all of his patients off a little at a time. I was one of the lucky ones and stayed with him till the last month he was in practice. They are doing it for many reasons and most of it is GREED.. To be in pain management in Ky you have to accept all forms of Insurance. Even Passport and Dr's do not get paid when the patients use Passport insurance. Also they have to accept medicare and medicare also dictates how much they can prescribe.. Advanced Pain management was investigated by medicare and had to reimburse medicare for over prescribing narcotics.. That is a matter of public record anyone can access it on the web. Also you can see what Dr's are currently under investigation in all states. When the DEA investigates they turn it over to the state medical licence board. Every state has one and all the ones I have looked at on the web posts who lost there state licence to practice and who was reprimanded and who was found in the right. As for myseIf finding another Dr I am getting recommended to another Dr but it will take three months to get in to see him. And another FYI I would never post my Dr's info on the web nowhere onetime a Dr mentioned it to me that one of his Patients did and he was pissed. He took it out on everyone that was seeing him. Like he said you do not want you're business out on the street what the hell do you think I want mine out in the street.. They type there names in google search and there it is.. Just an FYI..

It wasn't 2 years ago, it was last November. Doctors DO get paid for accepting Passport (I work for the State Agency that pays them) all insurance companies have contracts with doctors about how much they will be paid. Some doctors try to get more by double billing or billing for services that weren't received

I haven't posted on here in a long time. If you have legit problems and an MRI there are still several Drs in central Ky to help you. DR Lester in Berea,Rutledge in Lex,Pasadena Dr in Lex,Lindgren in Frankfort. It aint impossible like most pople on here think. Dr Bosomworth in Lex,Dr James at St Joseph and the list goes on and on. You just have to be able to piss clean and follow all the rules. Also be able to pass pill counts. I KNOW these places will help you. You may not get 180 30's. Those days are gone, unless you go to Tn. Hope this helps some of you. Lord I pointed you all in several right directions.

kyboy, do you know of any Dr.s in tenn? I live much closer to the Nashville area then any of the places you named in KY. Lex Frankfort, etc. is a 3 hour drive for me, plus the gas prices it will get to be pretty expensive. Not to mention it will be extremely hard for me to make the trip all the time.

@Greg, it's not impossible in Ky if you have legit problems, no you aren't going to get 180 30's anymore but you can get help, you just have to follow the rules, I have been in PM for 7 years, same doctor, I have several issues & MRI's to show it, my care and prescriptions haven't changed a bit since the new laws came, I'm still prescribed 120, 30's a month along with neurontin, flexaryl, and cymbalta. Like I said you just have to be legit and just as important have a doctor who is also.
