Oxcontin Morphine Mixed

a friend of mine was on oxycontin and morphine mixed and she has now passed away and i was wondering if you have ever heard of that?? maybe for cancer paitents??

I have and know of a lot of people on same Meds sorry for your loss! How old was she maybe she died of something else ?

I am very sorry for your loss.

But yes, they are often prescribed together for those that are experiencing intractable pain from a possibly fatal condition, and both FDA and NIH studies have not found them to hasten death, in such cases, they just help the person be more comfortable in their final days. However, they do warn that if someone survives such conditions, they do carry the risk of being habit forming.

This can always vary from person to person, and not being a doctor, I cannot say what might, or might not have contributed to your friend's death, in this case I can only give facts from studies and research.
