Opana 10 Mg Ir Roxane Vs Teva

Rx filled & wondering about oxymorphone 10 mg ir by roxane, what Ive gotten previously. Now got 10 mg ir by teva. The teva doesn't seem to give as much relief. It might be too early to judge, as I had to GI without for 2 days. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

And yes, it most likely is far too early to know for sure if it's going to work for you or not.

If you had to go without for 2 days, then your pain has actually been aggravated by the rebound effect that can occur with a sudden withdrawal of these types of medications…and that's on top of the typical withdrawal symptoms.

I'd say to give it about 2 weeks, then you should be able to judge a bit better. That will be enough time for the withdrawal and rebound effects to start tapering off and for the medication to reach its full efficacy level again.

Thank you! This is second month in a row I've gone without, last month, it was for a week. You're right, it took 2 wks to get back on an even keel. I'm growing very weary of these pharmacists playing with my life. I went 1 day, & was laid up in bed. When I'm trying to stay ahead if the pain, then every month not being able to fill for a minimum of 31- 37 days, I can't even accumulate any for emergency. In a few days, I'm going to cut back by @ least 1 a day, BC the thought of going without again has me a wreck. I'm tiredof yhethe whole situation. The ironic partof gigoing w/o last month was, I didn't vomit one time. I had bariatric surgery, & opana causes nausea & vomiting. I was sick again last night. The one medication that gave me best pain relief with few side effects is now unattainable. Oxycodone. I never got sick like I do with opana, wasn't as sedated, & was 1/6 the the cost. Here I am, 50 + yes old, do exactly as I'm told, & am denied a medicine that helped a lot. I don't understand, Ive been researching opana, & how it's the new drug of choice on the street. I can see why, it makes me feel like a zombie. & I can only presume that's the feeling a drug addict craves.I'm ready to stop this madness, & somehow live in pain. After being up vomiting last night, I'm questioning the lesser of the 2 evils. God bless & thank you for your help. These teva opana's don't seem to be helping my pain level today compared with the Roxane generic. Peace.

The teva are terrible..they don't even come close to comparing to the roxanne brand..cvs told me roxanne is all they get and have been unable to get anything from them the past two months..roxanne work perfectly..with teva you can barely tell you've taken anything at all...pathetic

I've gone with nothing quite a few times since last post. When I've been able to fill them, it's been the teva brand only. I haven't been able to fill opana ir 10 mg since Feb. Pharmacy orders them, & they aren't being shipped. I've had to switch to percocet, it's been a very rough several months. They don't cover the pain. The whole system is a nightmare. Here I am an older person, in chronic pain, & @ the mercy of this state. My quality of life has diminished, bc I'm in pain. I've gone without med more than a few times in the last year. I don't have the luxury to stay in bed & do nothing bc I have no pain medicine. I've developed an honest relationship with my Dr & pharmacist. I know the person is doing all they can to help. It's not their fault. I know someone who is dying of cancer in this state, & Dr won't even write an rx for any pain med. Even if the Dr did, they couldn't fill it anyway. What a way to live. It's cruel existence. It's inhumane, & violates a basic human right to live more comfortably. I pity anyone who gets sick or needs pain meds for any reason. I was unable to fill percocet, & no one would fill it but same person who filled previous med. I'm very much over this situation. I know 2 people whose kids are addicted to pain meds. They both have relapsed, & don't understand how these drugs are still on the street. It's obvious people who do awful thongs can still attain them, but chronic pain sufferers cannot. I'll never understand, & am trying to slowly wean off pain med. I'm afraid I'll end up dead from going thru w/d too many times. It's so hard on one's body, especially being an older person.

I agree, I once was satisfied with Roxanne 10mg & I had Dolophine 100mg a day. well, after several months I felt very blessed that the Dr who once had my pain at a comfort stage and the value of life was at an all time high, no pun intended. I was finally willing to take a new start in Life and wean down on my Dolophine (METHADONE). I hated the idea I switched to Methadone, just BC of society's pressure and all TV BS. I was on oxycodone & Oxycontin. Now I feel I'm forever trapped in a web, so I felt optimistic and asked to be lowered BC the Roxanne 10mg REALLY helped my pain. I saw a light of possibly having some sort of sobriety, all though I would always be in need of a pain reliever, and Alleve, Tylenol, etc,is definitely worse for your organs than an opioid. So, now fast forward, I was comfortable after 4 months from 100mg of Dolophine to 80, although I took what I felt was needed, some days were required the 40mg every 12 hours and some. I was preparing to get my body & see how my pain was even a tax lower and ONLY BC of the every 6 hour of 10mg by ROXANNE, well, I basically shot myself in the foot BC, it started, 1 month, they gave me endo, red oxymorphone, I tried them and knew sadly after several days that there was a difference, after the month, instead of having extra of my breakthrough & Dolophine, I was scared and anticipating my prescription, and also, my pain was back to a solid 10, sometimes an 11. idk what they did but after around 6 months of getting BS, I asked, and requested,(not saying I didn't the 2nd month) so they were going to "order" them. I waited est. 5 days just to be told, they're sorry, would I like the Tevas? Which are the same Crap?? so, yr or yr and some months, I switched to a different pharmacist & better, but they had the red ones too. I asked if they had Roxanne brand and he said Yes! However, my ins doesn't cover them. I was shocked and asked how much out of pocket? He told me approximately 450$. I had to be humble and get the red ones that were as strong as advil at 3.60 copay. I called my ins, asked WHY they stopped covering that brand and I was told and I quote,"We cover that medication, sure, in fact it shows here you always got them and we did, go back and demand them so the following month I repeated the words, politely and was told no, sorry, 450$. So, sorry for the long reply/comment but it has to do with the pharmacist, everywhere gets the red ones dirt cheap and must know a demand for Roxanne or somehow Roxanne realized all the other Companies are getting away with it, hold off, readjust the recipe, and that's it. btw, I went to many forums when the NEW RED ones came out and there was so much Rave about how much better they were AND how EASY it was to abuse. So, my feelings are, it's to benefit the abusers and that's it. Very sad, and in pain at 52. peace.
