Does Nitrofurantoin Mono Mac Affect Birth Control?

If not using any other type of protection other than birth control, can I become pregnant when using this medication?

Most antibiotics do interfere with the efficacy of birth control, thus it is advisable to use other protection methods while under treatment with them.

There are several brand names it is sold under, Macrobid, Furadantin and Macrodantin.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and skin rash.
