Need To Find A Doctor That Prescribes Pain Meds In Knoxville Tn (Page 4)

I just moved here and i have ra along with degenerative disc disorder that is extremely painful. I dont have a doc. so i haven't been taking any meds and it is hard to just walk. I am in pain everyday and need relief fast. Is there anyone y'all can suggest that may be able to help now?

so dee your telling me this doctor is agressive with perscribing oxys and break through pain meds? i have been on the same regimen for 8 years with never a problem, until my doc retired after seeing me for 10 years. there is a way to send over a phone number without it getting censored lol i swear u would think no one would care, anyways please let me know dee thanks so much i was thinkg i had to drive to chattanooga.

I need help. My doctor retired. Been their over 10 years. New doc got in trouble with DEA. I need away from them. Cut my meds fast & hard.Ive been in withdraw for I guess over 3 months now. I don't leave house cause I have bad anxiety the attacks they are no longer prescribing my anxety meds.The doctors their only care about not getting in trouble. Even had one tell me she didn't care about me in front of strangers in hall. I'm in pain & don't no what to do.Tired of crying & feeling like this. Years ago I was asulted I have bad trust issues. If anyone can help me & tell me where to go for help with out calling me names or being ugly to me would be much appreciated. I've already had years of drug test pill counts background checks I've no problem with that.but these doctors that I've been seeing don't care about me. they're in trouble and they're taking it out on all their patients The dr. That retied was nice man belived in God i belive he thought he left his patients in good hands but boy was he fooled Any help would be appreciated.Mean People please leave me ALONE. thank you God bless

Hate to even ask but I don't even now have primary care doctor. They were it. Now I'm lost & scared. They know this and don't care. Like ii said hate to ask but don't no what to do.

I need a new doctor a pain management doctor and a primary care physician went to TENNNOVA they don't prescribe medicine xanax at all. They prescribe me some medication I was allergic to I called them I told them that I was swelling up too swollen to go to the appt.the next morning they charge me over $800 and I didn't even go but I got a $800 bill.So tennova didn't help. I need a primary care doctor & looking for a pain management doctor mine retired. I need help.

Yes David I was needing to no where u go for methadone prescribed for pain Managment in Knoxville I had a bad car accident in 2001 n methadone is the only thing that keeps me straight minded thanku

Hi I'm new to the forum, but I was wondering if there is a great pain clinic in Knoxville, Chattanooga, or Nashville. I have had a MRI done and 12 spinal injections. I've been on loratab 10 so long that my body is rejecting them. I am suffering from loss of cartilage in my lower back. I also am dealing with my pelvic bones grinding due to carrying two big babies. So, I am looking for a doctor willing to due physical therapy and a pain medicine regiment. I can't due Percocet due to bleeding ulcers so I am so lost and would like some real help to gain control of my quality of life. This has been a painful 8 years for me and would also like info on fentanyl patch. I was told it is used for people that have I high pain tolerance.

Some folks on here don't recommend my clinic, but I have no issue with them. Active Pain Treatment with Dr. Fox & 3 N.P.'s in knoxville have been treating me for 4 yrs. I've never actually even met Dr. Fox and see one of his N.P.'s. She is very kind and understanding. For folks just looking for a drug dealer need not apply. They follow all the rules. Ive been on the fentanyl patch for years and am very grateful for the moderate relief they bring. Good luck to you and God bless!

You're welcome & glad I can help! First off, my treatment by them began with a referral from my former doctor when I moved closer to the clinics area in '09. I DO know that they will require a referral reguardless of the situation. I DON'T know if the Memphis/Knoxville distance will be an issue, but I can tell you that I still live an hour (about 60 miles) from their clinic and it isn't an issue. I can also tell you that they require a strict monthly appt. regiment. I only tell you that because I've asked if I could be seen every other month to save on transportation costs and the answer was a big no due to insurance issues or something like that :-( Anyway, I hope I've answered your questions and if I can help further, just ask! I'm sorry your dealing with so much pain first of all. I was wondering since you stated your pregnant with twins if your obgyn is helping you at all to manage your pain or even helping u find someone that will? When I was pregnant with my now 4 year old (I was high risk with all 3 of my kids) I was put on complete bedrest (at 2 months)and also I was so big (all baby)that my ruptured discs in my back and the impinged nerves in my back caused me SEVERE pain and my high risk doctor referred me to a pain specialist that put me on Percocet 10mg 4xday along with the fentanyl 50mcg patches. I really only used the patches because it seemed to help and didnt really need to take the pills. with being pregnant I hated taking anything but the pain I was in was putting stress on the baby and after me already starting to dilate at 3 1/2 months the pain doctor told me that the risks of me taking the meds was not going to hurt my baby unlike the stress from the pain would since i had already starting dilating. I'm not sure about doctors in Knoxville because at that time I lived in Ohio.
Have you talked to your doctor about maybe referring you to a pain specialist? Hopefully they are willing to send you to one if they are not able to help you. IMO I think that your obgyn should be concerned about the stress that is being put onto your unborn babies from the pain. That stress could be more harmful than anything. Especially with you being high risk. Have they said anything (obgyn) about the pros/cons to taking something stronger for the pain other than the loratab 10mg?

Btw, I too deal with stomach issues. Years ago, several bleeding ulcers left my doctors no other option but to remove the majority of my stomach. The surgery went horribly wrong leaving me with a "fatal" condition. I put quotations around "fatal" because I'm not throwing in the towel yet! Anyway, I'm sure you can imagine how sensitive my stomach is now. Thats why the fentanyl patches were and are a Godsend. I'm on a high dose of the fentanyl and still require something for breakthrough pain. Thankfully, oxicodone WITHOUT all that acetaminophen is relatively easy on what is left of my tummy.
