Please give me a list of doctors that will prescribe me xanax? I have bad anxiety.
Will yxour doctor prescribe xanax to a patient with high anxiety
I've been through an opioid detox. I went into an expensive Hospital for 7 days and 8 weeks of outpatient therapy. It worked, but now I get severe anxiety! I don't abuse Xanax, but it's the only way I can get a few hours of sleep. I wish I didn't need it, but I don't. I've tried to not take my Xanax for 4 nights, I didn't sleep all 4 days. Every time I would start dosing off my whole body would jerk me awake! I had to go back to the meds. I'm not ready to attempt to go off them yet. I don't have expensive Insurance any more, so I can't detox, even if I wanted to! I hope to change, but I'm afraid of no sleep!! Good luck. Don't start them. I don't recommend them to anyone. Unless you're not an addictive personality type.
I agree. Thqnks again. Ill pass the link on to other combat vets that need these meds. The V.A. cut off all benzos.
Yup what a good idea if someone made a more user friendly and easier way to find that info they would make a killin$$$
Exactly what I was needing. Thanks aj
Click the link below and then select what state you are in and scroll down to doctors and the number of claims you see is the number of prescriptions they wrote in a year:

And how many doctors — other than your FP — have you consulted about this problem? Personally, I don't see a flock of shrinks running and hiding from a patient with legitimate Anxiety Disorder (of whatever type). I"m not stating that I;d let you tell me what to write for, but I'd give your case the professional assessment it deserves. Xanax isn't a particularly good drug for anxiety; duration is too short and that;s the rule for addiction potential. We've known this since Seconal is the 1940s.
I am very frustrated that I Amadeus to feel like a drug addicted person if at very few times in my life I have needed Xanax. I 55 never had a drug problem but have a anxiety disorder that is increasingly worse in the last two years no one will help
@sick and tired: Thanks for the compliments. The primary reason we don't write for Valium any longer is because the brand is SO expensive (and many insurance companies simply won't fill Valium (brand name) scripts with the real deal) and except possibly Sandoz, we can't find a generic company that produces even remotely equivalent generics. Word in the pharmacies is that NO STORE gets anything but "INDEFINITELY BACK-ORDERED". That does for our hospitals pharmacies, too, and we spend MAJOR bucks on generics. I tried it for myself when I was prescribed Valium by my shrink. I asked him for a generic script and was bad the next day, telling him 4 x 5mg tabs barely lowered my pulse rate an BP, let along effect my anxiety level.) Other docs may have different reasons, but mine is that the generics available simply do not work. I wouldn't expect a pt to take a pill I find unsatisfactory. (Theoretically, I could up the dose greatly and that MIGHT work, but prescribing 20mg of Valium QID is a sure way to draw attention from the state CS folks, eventually the DEA..The law assumes all generics are created equally and that;s simply not so. We shrinks have a whole "underground" where we share "almost-equivalent" generic companies It does help.)
I moved from Nevada to Arizona, Glendale any one know a doctor here for xanax
I got a bad anxaty can,t sleep I always don't want to do nothing.
@Dr Joey, Damn you you always have the right responses. And the buspar was ok but the dose I needed you could knock out a horse. Why do DRs never give Valium any more? It is much longer lasting and good for PTSD. You did the right thing for your sister. I wish I had a brother with your experience. I have to give you a plug here (you deserve it) lol. Anyone who posts on here listen to this guy he knows his s***. You may not like what he has to say but I will be damned he is right!!! He has helped me unknowingly by reading his posts, if you want good advice listen to him. As much as we addicts think we may know it all or no one knows what I am going through we don't or we wouldn't be posting on this site. Good luck to all
@Sick & Tired: You're one of the lucky ones! BuSpare only works in high doses for a SELECT number of pts. No, we don't know why or how. My sisters shrink was ramping up the BuSpar to little or no effect. I tried calling her informally, but she hid behind privilege. Maybe she didn't know that I was her Clinical Supervisor's boss and her contract entitled me to have answered any question I posed about a patient. I called her in formally and I was NOT happy. I reminded her that I was her supervisor and her supervisor's supervisor and I want to know the rationale for what my print-out detailed as IRRATIONAL PRESCRIBING. She insisted she didn't know Anne was my kid sister as well as a kick-ass prosecutor. "How many times did you have to hear "my brother, Dr. Joey" or "my brother, Joey, the Chief of Psychiatry" before you get the f-----g message. I cancelled her scripts and put Anne on Effexor-XR., Prozac and Klonopin and a sleep aid. "You're not in sole charge — at least not now. I want all your notes and reports and scripts on my desk every Monday for the foreseeable future." She objected and I told her that she knew where the doors were. Prior to our meeting, I checked to see if her DEA Registration had been "modified" or suspended. I (WE can be stripped of our rights to prescribe opiates/opioids are class or C-II or C-III drugs) That was OK. She was aware whom my sister's brother is and she didn't eat the mess up and end up with habituation to benzes or sleep aids. I told her that's what happens and that's why we have office-used withdrawal protocols; I wrote them myself after consulting a number of sources in print and in person. Once I got over my initial anger.
Administrators and Supervisors always think, "How could a licensed MD make such a stupid decision?" And we conveniently forget that we weren't born with 20+ years of experience, such as the time I wrote script for Valium 40mg —I was thinking of: Prozac and one of our pharmacists caught it so that I could correct it. Benzos were "regular" C-IV Controlled Substances in those days, so this was an OK correction for an R.Ph. to make, with the prescriber's permission.
How to get xanax, my dr doesn't believe in it, I have had it for some 25 years, I have nervous condition for 25 years, my life cannot live without it, please help me get some help. I have been in perfect health all my life. Never missed used it.
I live in southern maine and have been prescribed xanax for years my doctor recently moved and I have one script left anyone know anyone.....
@Katie, No one was condemning. Hell I am the last person to condemn someone. I was giving you sound advice from a person who has been in your place. Do you actually think somebody is gonna email you a DR Feelgood. Hardly. My advice is what worked for me. I offered it and you took it as I was taking your inventory. All equal here Katie. TAKE ACTION and may you find what you need. I feel your pain but so will you unless you take action.
Thank YOU, I. Appreciate you not condemning me!
Very good advice, Sick and Tired! My compliments to the chef! - Dr J.
This is good advice (he said modestly). BuSpar can work if you work it, as the Nazis, say... in other words have a doc willing to play with the dosing sometimes even above the maximum recommended dose. It's a very low-toxicity drug. I don't describe it unless the pt is already on it or asks for it. It's not bad medicine to accommodate her and we do get some work done in therapy.

I would recommend you get your records from the Doc who diagnosed you with an anxiety disorder, And be careful what advice you listen to on this site, DR Joey (the good one lol) will give you the best advice but although he is very empathetic he will give it to you straight. And that is what this site needs. There is a lot of good info and then there is some BAD advice too! Get your records and if you are really going into major panic mode go to the ER be straight up with the Doc and they will usually give you a week and in that week you call a shrink or an internist and be HONEST and ask the Doc to work with you.Do not tell the receptionist you want xanax and if you were lucky enough to have gotten a weeks worth take that to your appointment. Have you tried some other meds. I was diagnosed with PTSD and buspar works well for me but it took a few weeks to get the dosage right, Good luck if you have good insurance call them and have then email you a list of Docs in your area, and if you can start to exercise and eat. Stay away from caffeine and anything else that is a stimulant. I hope you find the help you need!
