Please tell me the shelf life of Naproxen Sodium 550 mg. Thank you, Druchel Haley

Every prescription medication, sold in the U.S. must have a shelf life of a year from the original fill-date.

Thus, if you had picked it up today, 08/23/2010, the expiration would be 08/23/2011.

Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, used to treat pain and swelling.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation.

I was looking for the same answer and saw this.
36 Months is the shelf life for Naproxen, not 12. What you were told was the prescription life. By law prescriptions cannot last longer than a year. They are two separate things. Medicines don't all go bad on day #366
