Name Brand Xanax Tablets Very Hard To Break In Half

I know there are black market name brand 2 mg bars out there for I have taken some of the ones described on this site. With the lettering off and too thick and squared off. They look exactly like the real ones and taste almost identical to what they should. But they are impossible to break in half. Are there new name brand ones out there that have been made this way intentionally? They didn't dissolve right when I put them on my tongue like a generic.

Are the markings the worldwide Pfizer/Upjohn imprint 'U94' or the US-only 'XANAX' obverse, large '2' reverse? If the latter, then I suspect they have been pressed on a TDP-6 tablet press's using the widely available copy punch die ($140 on eBay) for this very popular and inexpensive range of tablet press.

Alprazolam is an easily available API and is quite cheap, so most of the counterfeits actually DO contain alprazolam, if not quite in the stated quantity. It is difficult to obtain homogeneous tabletting mixes without using the farther expensive (and difficult) wet granulation process, but that would be my guess.

US-marked XANAX have begun to appear in the UK, and I would advise anyone offered them not to buy, as they are not seen as the real brand, EVER, in this part of the world.

I assume you are talking of US-made branded XANAX. Yes, there are many counterfeits, if they are found in the UK then they are DEFINITELY fake, because it is virtually impossible to find XANAX with the USA imprint here; or anywhere else for that matter - the imprint for XANAX sold everywhere in the world of 2mg strength is 'U94' and for 1mg 'UPJOHN 90' (USA only are BLUE, only regular purple/lavender tabs with US markings are Parke Davis 1mg from PAKISTAN, which are only around half strength so not worth taking).
There are fake punch dies made for the TDP-6 tablet press, the most used by counterfeiters, sold openly on eBay and by several internet vendors; as are fake dies for ACTAVIS A215 oxycodone, Mallinckrodt M30, Watson 540 and 853 hydro/apap, Adderall 30 IR and XR, and more.

As far as I am aware, the tablets made by Pfizer/Upjohn are still made in the same factories with the same rotary presses and thus should NOT be any different than usual. You probably have a counterfeit which has been filled with a little too much powder and hence the harder texture - the other reason might be that they are using different excipients of a much harder consistency. The slightly different shaped tablets are also a clue. As with the fake Actavis/Purepac P039 yellow bars, which are openly sold in PK under brand name 'ALPROX', the corners are more rounded and the tablets thicker than the real thing - those are also made using a different colour dye; real Purepac bars use E102, tartrazine, as their yellow but the fakes are far brighter yellow.

Be careful. And watch where you obtain these types of thing. Obviously you have not been dispensed those from a reputable pharmacy, as they would have noticed immediately that the tablets are not regular XANAX. Pakistan is the centre of the counterfeit medicine trade and due to a total lack of any quality control, even licensed brands tend to be a lot weaker than as advertised in boxes and blisters. Cheap they may be; a bargain they certainly are NOT!
