Ms Cotin Er Post Gastric By Pass

I had ruen y bypass in 2007 then in 2009 I was in car accident after all surgeries I ended up with failed back surgery syndrome. I currently am prescribed morphine sulfate 15mg 2x daily along with oxi ir 15mg 4x daily although the ms was just added recently cause the oxi was not managing the pain. the ms is not much help. would allowing it to soak under tongue help absorption? I'm looking for help to suggest to my pain management doctor for best medication for absorption do to bypass

Hello, Justin! How are you? I'ms sorry that you're in pain.

Actually, due to the absorption issue from the bypass, I'd suggest asking about one of the pain relief patches, such as Fentanyl. It's a patch you wear on your skin and change every 2 to 3 days, so you'd not have to worry about not absorbing the medication.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

hi Justin, im sorry your in so much pain. It seems that morphine either ms contin or the other straight morphine was not working. It looks like your overloading with all sorts of pain meds at one time so it would be hard to tell which one is working. i suggest you sit down with your pain management team an work out a trial or some other types of meds . I agree that you should try fentanyl patches you should be careful they are a synthetic opioid but 100 times stronger than morphine and prescribed in micrograms you could also try s slow infusion in your leg muscle of ketamine a dissociative anesthetic even try gabapentin or pregabalin a non narcotic that works akso in your GABA A receptors. At a very last resort and i mean last resort methadone but that i another whole can of worms. i wish you all the best
