Metylprednisolone And Dry Cough

i complained to my dr about a dry cough i was having after pneumonia sickness. He prescribed methylprednisolone 4mg
Can I take mucinex to help ?

I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between the two, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure.

However, the Mucinex is liable to make the coughing worse, since it is an expectorant that helps expel mucous.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

I was diagnosed with bacteria pneumonia a couple weeks ago and finished by antibiotic treatment on Monday. I went for a follow-up appointment today and my Dr prescribed the 6day pack of 4mg methylprednisolone. I just started taking it today. I'm wondering how it helps to take this while I still have a cough? I read that I should avoid anyone who is sick or infectious...I can't avoid myself. Lol
