Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 67)

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Hi Gail , unfortunately the symptoms of Lyrica don't stop with the last dose , for many they become permanent .....

I'm so so sorry to hear about your suffering Gail. I was only on a low dose of lyrica but it cost me a very lucrative job. While I was on the medication I turned into a blabbering fool, my brain just wouldn't work properly and my colleagues couldn't make sense of what I was saying. Once I was sacked I stopped the medication. It took weeks to start feeling like my usual self, although I have also battled suicidal thoughts and still do. From my perspective, Lyrica is a very clumsy drug that helps some issues and creates many many more that end up making life worse not better. So please know that THE PROBLEM ISN'T YOU AND IT IS NOT ALL IN YOUR HEAD. You are still an intelligent and gifted human being, you just happened to fall prey to money-hungry pharmaceuticals.

That's interesting... one of the side effects that convinced me to get off lyrica was that of night-time seizures. I was waking up because my body was convulsing. I've worked with people with a disability who have seizures and knew exactly what was happening. It was very frightening. And lyrica is supposed to be an anti-epileptic drug.

As i have always said Lyrica is a dumbing down drug and believe it is in the Governments interests to have dumb citizens it can control rather than smart ones that can think and challenge them .. ....

Just ran across this thread and had to add my two cents...
I took Lyrica when it first came out years ago and they were giving away samples via pain management doctors, needless to say after being on it the third day I became so angry that I was in a rage. A psychotic rage! I've never in my life had a problem with anger or have had any emotional issues...
I stopped taking the Lyrica and by the 5th day I was back to my old self.
It's scary that I could have actually harmed others or myself because of this drug.
Neurontin another drug their shoving down the throats of chronic pain patients also made me be very angry, but not as severe as Lyrica did.
The government is trying to force these non narcotic medications on chronic pain patients instead of using opiates to treat long term pain. No one seems to care that these drugs are having horrible side effects on a very high percentage of patients. All they care about is that you're not receiving any narcotic analgesics and your quality of life means nothing. This is just more BS from the failed war on drugs and now chronic pain patients are the latest victims of our own government and big pharma profits. I feel extremely sorry for people who are being forced to take these two drugs Lyrica or Neurontin and if they don't want to take them because of horrible side effects are then treated as if their drug seekers. It's getting really ridiculous for chronic pain patients these days...
I'm very fortunate that I have a good doctor that is very aware of the bad side effects of Lyrica and Neurontin and is very careful about their use.

lyrica did a number on me, put me in the hospital for almost a week, messed with my eye site, i could not stand by myself or walk for over three months over it i to have been asking questions about poss. law suite of the maker of lyrica.

As a retired attorney, I have researched and contacted colleagues in USA who do class actions and others who claim to specifically litigate civil Lyrica claims. So far, attorneys are either not interested OR they actually do whistleblower actions. It won't be until it becomes an easy win after a well publicized case that trial attorneys will step up.

The only problem with Lyrica is for some of us, if a class action is started, is the statute of limitations has run out, but I wish you luck, and Happy holidays.

Hi. My mother just recently committed suicide after 4 attempts, all the while she was on lyrica. She had so many health problems, and the one medication she was on the whole time was lyrica. She finally succeeded with her 4th attempt at suicide. Not until after this occurred am I now seeing the commercial saying that lyrica can cause suicidal thoughts or actions. Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against Lyrica? I don't care about the money, but this needs to be stopped and taken off the market. If anyone has any links or advice for me, any thing would be appreciated. Thanks, Moe.

I am so sorry about your mother, may she be at peace now. My daughter was trying to commit suicide too, she pointed her gun at herself and then at a police officer. 3 shots to her chest and she's gone. I'm going to try to find an attorney. Cassie was only on lyrica for less then a month.

I too would like to know about this so called lawsuit. I am a nurse that is very blessed to be alive after passing out while driving and ran into a tree, I had no warnings at all I had been taking this hellaous drug for est. 8 mos. The mystery started with the babbling that everyone else had, memory GONE won't be back. This drug has let me know I don't want to go to the real HELL. As Marvin would say What's Going On.

It's me again. I talked with a lady just yesterday that told me about what her mother-in-law went thru after taking Lyrica; unbelievable. A Dr. tried to prescribe it to her husband and he told the Dr. no thanks. After my car accident on my 2nd m.d. visit when I told my neuro doc.about me knowing that my problems were from taking Lyrica his only response was you are a smart lady and never said another word Go figure. Miss no brain left.
