Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 66)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

I have been on Lyrica since 2005 as well, but mild doses and sometimes I took them routinely and sometimes not at all. Well now, after taking 150 mg 3 times a day for a year straight, I am SCREWED. So when I got addicted to pain pills, the doctors warned me of side effects, potential of addiction and how bad the withdrawals were going to be If i stayed on them for a long period of time, so did the pharmacists over and over again for years!! Well, with LYRICA, not one word was EVER said about physical dependency, withdrawals, NOTHING! I told my ex-doctor I wanted off and he told me that being on Lyrica, "It's not a bad thing!" So he basically said, "Don't stress about it and go get your script filled, you'll be fine! Well, guess what? We have a huge problem now, don't we??? I lost my job, because I needed to get a refill and I put it off. What a mistake!! I couldn't even handle a minor situation at work and stormed out. Wow!! That taught me to NEVER go more than 24 hours without my Lyrica. It's a very subtle drug so you would never expect this! These horrible withdrawals!! No one told me!! This isn't fair. I want my life back Lyrica!!! Im not going into detail because previous person did a great job! I was doing a T-shirt and I couldn't even handle that!! I felt awful, it just doesn't go away!! I'm back on my usual dose. I don't even feel the drug when I take it, but if i don't take it, holy s***!!! I feel that!! OMG what can I do? Help please!!

Hi Heather , what you said about wanting your life back is exactly what my 22 year old son has been saying for the last five years since he took his last dose of Lyrica , he sadly laments his loss of cognitive power he had before taking that lobotomy in a pill Lyrica ., his razor sharp memory ,mathematical and creative ability obliterated by this vile brain damaging drug ....

1. Eye sight went from 20/16 in both eyes tonow needing reading glasses to see my phone.
2. Severe depression with suisidal thoughts
3. Not able to relieve my bladder appropriately. Sometimes it trickles out , sometimes it's hard to start, and stops without being done.
4. Confusion
5. Forgetfulness
6. Even loss of memory
7. Can't put sentences together because I forget words
8. Forget how to spell

My short-term memory loss got me in a lot of trouble avfew days ago and I have been off Lyrica nine years now.I was driving and some stuff I had on the passenger seat started to slide off, I looked at them and pushed them back on the seat. During those few seconds , my car drove to the left and I hit a small sapling in the middle of a grassy patch of grass, which separated the one side to the other. I did not remember it until the police showed up at my door asking me if I had hit a tree. I told him that I didn't know because of my memory problems; but the proof he showed me was there. He said that I had 10 days to have a doctor verify this, I made an appointment with my doctor. He also said he was taking my license, but he gave it back to me and finally I must retake my driving test. The funny thing was he gave me no papers, no ticket and no citation. Anyway, even after being off Lyrica nine years it is still affecting my daily life. I remember things from long ago, especially in driving but the shorter times, forget it. If you lose it, you lost it.

Essentially the lawyers said i had to have real damage. What's more real than ingesting Poison while sleep walking. Losing most of my teeth etc. If you didn't have a loss of limb, attempt suicide, go totally mental by commitment then they don't care. They want the % money won by the lawsuit so this isn't worth their time. I've thought about contacting senators/congressman in my area to do investigations. There Are 1000s of comments I here alone. I had 2 wrecks and 5+ physical accidents while taking and none since "I" took MYSELF OFF. My aunt fell several times while I and I think due to her age has sustained perm. memory and motor issues. If the lawyer can't make a profit they won't do anything with you. It's a business for them as well not a cause. That's why i think doctors aren't the ones removing patients from this med.

Honey Naltrexone isn't a pain reliever. It's an opiate blocker. You may be on bupenorphine/Naltrexone,spellings off sorry.

It's not that lawyers don't care. That is unfair. I practice this area of law and it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight these drug companies. Firms often go bankrupt from cases like these. They are extremely difficult, costly, and very difficult to prove causation and the associated damages.

I know what you mean. I've only been taking lyrica (and a low dose) for five weeks. I started so that I could eliminate the pain and spasms from a degenerative spinal disease and get back to work. I was pain free for the first time in 15 years but I was unable to think clearly, process information, put a rational argument together, and my short-term memory was useless. I have a PhD so I do have reasonable capacity for analysing a large amount of complex information. I will probably lose my very high paying job because I can no longer think. The dose has been lowered but I am now in more than I have ever been, AND my thinking has only partially improved. I am really amazed that there is no class action against this drug company.

So I guess that means pharma can put out drugs that may have serious long term effects without too much worry of successful litigation. To bad money is the leader of everything good and bad.

The only way to get Lyrica off the market is if the doctors refuse to prescribe it. Also the best doctors I've found, vwho are sympathetic are the psychiatrists. There never will be a law suit because phyzer is too big for lawyers to handle.

I was only on Lyrics for a week when I started having suicidal thoughts. I reported to my doctor immediately. It was like a rat gnawing in a wall, the thoughts I was having. Three days after stopping I had a botched attempt and ended up on a ventilator in ICU then onto a psych ward. I have a history of suicide attempts and my doctor said that is probably why it affected me so quickly. I did not read the side effects of the med, I don't with any of my meds. The mind is stronger than we think.

I recently stopped Lyrica 150 2x/day by switching to gabapentin. It's been 3 weeks and I am having horrible waves of gut spasms every single day with no reduction in intensity, I've had 3 natural child births and the pain in my stomach and intestines far exceeds pain of labor. I too am a single mom and I am totally useless and feeling like my only recourse is to go back on Lyrica. I'm terrified it's caused long term gut issues, I can't live this way and have no idea what to do

Hello everyone, I am worried that I am going to die. I am so afraid. I have been on Lyrica since 2014 after being in a car accident and developing chronic regional pain syndrome. I take 9 x 50 mg pills daily. I have been diagnosed with an arrhythmia and atrial fibrilation. I lost my drivers license because I fainted in church. I am experiencing most of the symptoms associated with lyrica. The insurance doctors think I am faking my symptoms. My mind is so messed up and I feel so useless I struggle with suicidal thoughts. The pain in my left side arm, shoulder blade hip and left leg have gotten so bad I want to just cut those parts off. The medication takes some of the pain away but not all. I cannot think straight and have become so clumsy I lose my balance. I am forgetful and my mind is a blur sometimes. I have good days where I am so " high" I can get almost anything done. Then when I come down from the high I feel all the pain I did to my self. I one time found myself thinking I could fly and had a difficult time holding my thoughts straight. I am afraid of the body I am in and my mind is like a corrupt computer that crashes without warning. My hands shake and fingers hurt like crazy. Instead of getting better I am getting worse. I am stuck in the country side without anyone at home in the day. I am so afraid of my body right now. As I write this my heart is hurting as though a spear was put right through it and came out through my back... I cannot get off of this medication.. I tried and wanted to kill myself from pain and the dark thoughts. I am 51 this Saturday and worry it will be my last birthday. I used to be smart, a network engineer, now I am stupid.

Yes you CAN get off Lyrica. I watched my father die a couple of months ago. He was put on Lyrica for leg pain. Of course he had leg pain. His feelings were coming back in to his body after one helluva Oxycodone detox. You will definitely feel like killing yourself if you stop it cold turkey because your MU receptors in your brain will be screaming at you to feed them. Lyrica feeds them. If oxycodone is synthetic heroin then Lyrica is worse. Worse because I think more people take it than oxy. You are still very young I call our age middle age because our bodies are equiped to live EASILY to 100 so get your brain engaged. Its in there, you are an engineer didnt you say? You must see a naturopathic NMD. I can help you find one. Let me know if you get this. I'm concerned.
