Lisinopril hctz 20/25 is causing me to have hives all over my body, intense itching to the point I feel I am in an "outer body experience". The pharmacist told me the hctz is a histamine and after taking it for almost one month, it is now officially in my body, and my body has an allergy to it. So I've stopped taking it now, am taking a prednisone pac and using the hell out of benadryl cream and taking over the counter benadryl. I am ravaged. How long will this last somebody?

I have had the same horrible rash/hives all over my body from this. How long did it take before it went completely away? I have been off Lisinopril for about 4 weeks now. It has cleared up a lot, but I still have some itchy spots.

You may be allergic to the HTCZ (thiazide) portion of your Lisinopril med. You can have your doctor prescribe Lisinopril without it. I was prescribed on two occasions HTCZ and each time I developed itchy reddish/purple rash like lichen planus. I can no longer be prescribed thiazide medications.
