Lisinopril Tablets (Page 3)

Updated

I have been taking Lisinopril 20 mg from manufacturer Lupin for years. My most recent renewal was the same color and Lupin on one side and 20 on other but the pill is half the size of the one I have been getting. Still says Lupin but I am concerned. Anyone notice the difference?

We should all call Lupin and express our side effects and adverse reactions. Flood them with calls. There is power in numbers

Yes contact the FDA. Fill out form 3509B. I too had major problems with the smaller version of lupin lisinipril. My pharmacy ordered in the original version. They had some left. Now I'm fine. My dr. does not want me to take the new version so when my pharmacy runs out I will get a different brand.

this is not correct. Kroger pharmacy gave me the smaller pills also 20 mg. Same color same numbers on pill. They said they must of removed fillers to save cost. I have taken 3. Second day started with nausea, or heartburn. Still have it today. Calling pharmacist

To all those taking the new smaller Lisinopril 10 or 20 mg They changed the pill We all are having problems since they decided to save money and reduce costs They can swear on a stack of Bibles but they changed it and we all are experiencing it Time to change to a different BP pill There are certainly enough of them on the market I am now going with Losartan 50mg twice a day Not doing the job that Lisinopril did but what choice do I have

So, your symptoms of a smaller pill causing it were imagined. I really don't understand all the hand wringing on this thread.

Don't be a drama queen Barry, your speculation is without merit or manufacturing knowledge. stop trying to scare people. This is no big deal, and NOT causing symptoms.

Maybe you agent J should open your eyes and listen to people who have been affected by this drug. There are none so blind as those who won't see Maybe you work for the manufacturer and are trying to cover their ass

then why are on here, 'Agent J'? To insult people and basically call them names?

look Barry, you are contributing to group think and it is not based in science. Just admit it.

Agent J says the claims are not based on science, but that statement shows just how limited he or she is in the knowledge of the scientific process. A bunch of random strangers from a cross-section of America, with various differences in health and lifestyle, all experienced similar negative effects after coming into contact with a single common denominator: the new formula of lisinopril. Sounds like empirical evidence to me - or at least something that merits further investigation. Speaking of science, I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm intelligent enough to recognize when someone isn't interested in - or even capable of - contributing anything valuable or helpful to a group discussion. I say we ignore this person.

Well, I take that same 20Mg pill, and I have zero change in any sense of feel or effect, I would guess that my "empirical" experience would mirror 95% of the users.
You all act like they changed the formula and added some mystery ingredients that have caused a absolute change in symptoms or relief. That is so incredibly unlikely it fall under the confirmation bias category. If that smaller pill was delivered inside a ball of bread and never seen to be smaller, I seriously doubt this thread would exist.

Agent J. You are so blind that a reply is useless since your mind has previously been made up. Your comments indicate that all the people here who have had adverse reactions from the new smaller pill are deranged. Not the case. We are users for many years and know our medication very well and know how our bodies respond to our Lisinopril

Let me get this straight: I said that the similar reactions of several random people from a cross-section of America to the same med (same name, same change, same timeframe) AT LEAST merited further investigation. You said that YOU had no negative reaction and you GUESS that would be the experience of 95% of people. Well, thank goodness for that rock-solid insight. If only we had known it was all about you, everything for us would have been all right.

When the medication size changed I received a pamphlet when I picked up my new scripts telling me of the change. Also said be assured it's the same medication. I also spoke to my Cardiologist about it, he too said it's still the same exact medication. I go to Johns Hopkins Hospital It's a pretty notable Hospital worldwide with top notch Dr's.So I'm pretty sure those that are having symptoms it's not from the change in shape of the same medication and you should make an appointment to go get checked by your Dr.

Since they changed the formulation of Lisinoprol, I started having side effects. I took the new formula for 5 days and then called the doctor's office. My doctor switched me to Losartan 50 mg and it caused swelling of my feet ankles and left leg. Also caused extreme weakness. Had to start taking a diuretic for the swelling. BP was a lot higher so I was switched to ANOTHER medication Norvasc 5 mg. Not tolerating it well either. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE all because Lupin changed the formula. I feel horrible and my energy is non existent.

Lori. Doctors at Johns Hopkins are world famous but they really have no knowledge of the manufacture process by Lupin in making Lisinopril. We the end users know our Meds and know of a change in how our bodies tolerate these Meds

In follow up to my original oat on July 8, I did call Lupen Pharmaceutical Co the following Monday. I discussed with them the symptoms I had experienced as well as the local pharmacy not informing me of the manufacturer's change. The company appreciated my input , but had no explanation for the adverse reaction. They assured me that the only change they made was making the pill smaller by removing some filler ingredients. Further, I am glad to report that the symptoms of sleepiness I experienced in the beginning have since subsided.

Hi Barry - I didn't post the Johns Hopkins comment. And I completely agree with you!
