Levothroxine(synthroid)
UpdatedI would like to know the difference between mcg and mg. I am taking 88mcg's a day and now have a prescription for 0.05 mg's a day. How to convert the 88mcg to 0.05 mg is the information I am looking for. Thank you.

I have had heartburn since I have been taking Levothroxine. Is this normal? WIll it go away? I chew minty gum a lot which helps.
It is not listed in the side-effects, though all drugs can do different things to different people. I would recommend speaking to your doctor about so you can rule out other causes or problems.
how long do i have to wait to eat after taking thyroxine / I have two different times. 30 &60 min. which is the best?
To answer the original question about mcg (micrograms) versus mg (milligrams)
There are 1,000 mcg in 1 mg
88 mcg = 0.088 milligrams
0.05 milligrams = 50 mcg
Hope this helps!
My prescription for Synthroid reads 112mg and the prescription from the pharmacy label reads mcg. Is there a difference in the strength?
The pharmacy is probably right because levothyroxine is usually prescribed in micrograms or fractions (decimals) of a milligram. So it would be unlikely that you would be taking more than a milligram. but check with your doctor either way, usually pharmacies are really good about catching those doctor mistakes like a missing "c." For better information you might want to contact the pharmacist of your local pharmacy they might know things like this a lot better than doctors do. ;p
Is fibromyalgia linked with hypothyroidism?
I am taking 88mcg of levothyroxin sodium.
What is this drug? Where does it come from?
I am in so much pain especially my neck, upper back and arms.
I have been on Synthroid since November. I am having nausea after eating. I take the Synthroid first thing in the morning with a half glass of water and wait an hour before eating. However, I do drink a cup of half decaf and half regular coffee right after taking the Synthroid. The nausea happens after most meals. Could this be a side effect of Synthroid. Also, I'm having trouble sleeping at night.
I've been on 0.05mg 50mcg daily for a longtime. I had blood test and switched me to 0.088mg 88mcg. Can I tell me the difference between them. How will it help me . tks
You should not drink coffee or have anything for an hour after synthroid
