Is It Okay To Take 2008 Hydrocodone

I got hydrocodone but the bottle says to throw way after 10.2008, can I still take them?

I have taken hydrocodone off and for about six years and the last two, every day. In high school I started taking them for fun and when I hurt my back and had surgery when I was nineteen I began taking then consistantly for pain management. I am now 24 years old going in a month from now for a second surgery. I am perscribed to take 6-8 10/325 hydros a day but as many follow this dark path like myself, I take more then I should because I like the way they make me feel. I am ashamed to post, even though my identity is private, that I frequently take 10-12 of these pills in one handfull to get high because I have built such a tolerance over the years and I need to take atleast five at once just to keep the pain down. I know that one of these nights im not going to wake up if i keep this up. Hell, one time I took thirty of these things in a twelve hour period. My liver and kidneys cant take much more im sure. My question is, just how bad am I killing myself?

Well. I know on late like always but I too have the same issue but I never take more then they tell me , I would say. Talk to your doctor Nd notifie him that there not working anymore Nd maybe he can help I hope your doing good god bless

Tramadol is a great alternative for your pain management, ask your doctor about it. The side effects are minimal, it is non habit forming and it us pretty safe to your body. Please try it. I had a hard time with an addicting drug for my pain and this is what set me free and even helped me get through the withdrawals. However, you may still have a craving for that addicting feeling, please get some counseling for that. Good luck and God bless.

I hate seeing the doctors over prescribing medications, but please know everyone that Florida is no longer the damn Oxy Pipeline, it was once considered. The new governor swore to eliminate the all, due to hillbillies crack head (pills) have DESTROYED THE AVERAGE FLORIDIAN WHO ACTUALLY NEEDS THE HELP, BUT GETS DENIED OR MISS TREATED, DUE TO RELYING ON A PILL HE NEVER KNEW THE DOCTORS WOULD LATER TELL HIM HOW DEADLY THE POISON WAS. W/ as much heroin & morphine the US government is protecting & helping the elders in harvesting the opium & then preparing it for sale, to make the drug, were the US government makes sure it flies into both Britain & the United states of course, then make more money of drug busts, deaths, & other endless bulls***, the time has come to actually educate & not DEMONSTRAE!! To ACTUALLY ANSWER the question you ASKED instead of telling you things that DON'T even pertain to it...Doctors tell people its dangerous to take expired meds because in some cases it is. When meds expire they are no longer as effective, so if someone that needs say, blood pressure pills, took expired ones, they wouldn't get the full benefit from it and that could put their health in danger. Pills aren't like meats or dairy in the way, that when they expire, they can really make you sick. Aside from being weaker, most are ok to take. However in YOUR case, 2008-2012 is four YEARS. The potency at THIS POINT, would most probably do you absolutely no good, which could lead to an accidental overdose simply because, with the weaker potency, you MIGHT be prone to take more because you don't feel any relief and by the time your relief "catches up with" the amount taken, it COULD already be too LATE to stop a potential OD. Hope THIS HELPS you out.
