I also use the patch and I am shocked at the fact some people just want to feel high. I have chronic pain and it sucks that people misuse and don't understand how this affects the people that really need it.... Sorry your life sucks but try to feel high on life... Just sayin.

Dear chronic pain opioid patients. New research has proven that use of opioids may increase the pain rather than numb it, your bodies addictive response for more. And that chronic pain associated with nerve damage will last longer than without, additionally the patient will also be more sensitive the pain. (Experiments in mice.) I recently tossed (drugs) everything (slowly) after loosing significant amount of memory and bloods came back with liver damage due to the amount of time on fentanyl, valium, amitriptyline, nsaids and alcohol. I want my life back. I go to an integrated pain management team, learn about living with chronic pain. It has been hard, the pain doesn't stop but i am in less pain now without meds and alcohol than before when i was smashed off my face, i could barely stand or walk. I reckon as the s*** (free radicals) is removed from my system my pain is decreasing. Chronic pain can be a psychological monster and with the bodies normal addictive response to opioids it will continue to feed your body with more referred pain to increase the dose, makes you more sensitive to your pain and proven to prolong nerve pain. Dangerous drugs in the hands of depressed chronic pain sufferers is not a good idea. You will die of organ failure before you die from pain.

Prince died from fentanyl OD. The drug is not meant for chronic pain. Pharmaceutial companies are making a killing through the legal addiction of people to opioids. Ask for alternatives

If I were not on the fentanyl patch I would suffer everyday of my life with chronic nerve pain in my legs and feet and would rather be dead but because of the patch I have a life and can actually be comfortable and even work and I have tried it all so I disagree.

To Meh125,

Yea the something that needs to be done is called "parenting". If it had been done there wouldnt be an issue. There are people in real pain and adults that can choose what life they want. Its not up to people to parent your children or suffer because of them.

How does this match up against 30mg of oxycodone?

Hi
I am an opiate user, I have RX's from my dr, and have struggled with chronic constipation because of it. My friend recently died because he had chronic constipation which led to a tear in his intestines, he never went to the dr though which probably would have saved his life. I've tried everything and nothing worked. Finally my dr put me on Amitiza, it really saved me. It caused me no cramps or side effects personally. I did have to jump through hoops for the insurance to cover it, and then it's still pricey (depending on your insurance), but it's totally worth it. Hope this helps. I know how terrible it is to deal with pain your entire life, hugs.

To MethaContin85:

Our streets are flooded with prescription pain killers and narcotics. It's easier to get illicit drugs than it is to find a deal at Walmart... lol but I just want to say @MethaContin85 you are NOT a recovering opiate addict.. All you did was switch dealers to a licensed and insured dealer.. They draw more profit than street dealers but if one of their customers overdoses then they are protected.. Methadone was the first physical addiction I ever had and that was from recreational use... The effects were just as good as Oxy but methadone lasts all day... You are not in recovery. You still feed your addiction daily. They have just led you to believe you are in "treatment/recovery"...

Man I don't know what all the buzz about these things are honestly. I think they suck. I now have my fourth 75mcg patch. The previous three I was told not to chew and definitely not swallow. Albeit my tolerance is fairly high. Say 60mgs of oxycodone only do me good for about two maybe three hours if I'm lucky. Anyways long story short I took them and honestly I couldn't feel a damn thing. I think they are overrated. I'd rather have 30mgs of oxycodone of these worthless patches any day. Idk.

Oh and to all the people out there calling out the 'junkies' and blaming those who can't get their medicine from a doctor for whatever the reason. Lol. Where do we acquire them?? We don't brew that stuff up in a lab. Some of you people sicken me. Idc who it is or what kinda question they are asking about this stuff. They just want an honest opinion and are actually trying to be fairly safe about it. Who are you to judge and call names and look down on these people??? I just don't get it. I think if you od off of these things you probably shouldn't of had any business with even a hydrocodone or two. They are not all they are made out to be. Six norco tens treat me better than a patch every time.

You are so misunderstood. If you're robbing pharmacies then yeah you might be part of the problem. But when you acquire them through other means how is that the buyers fault??? Oh yeah it isn't. Unless someone actually does od. Which sucks and I sympathize with family members or loved ones. But that was the users decision there. Not the supplier.

30s win all day hands down in my opinion. They actually work for pain unlike fentanyl. I could get nothing from it. And yes I have a recently crushed lumbar

IF YOU WANT TO RISK OVERDOSING IN ABOUT 15-30 MINS THEN FOR SURE GO AHEAD AND CHEW A FENTANYL PATCH!!! SERIOUSLY ??? YOU ASKED THAT QUESTION ?? ARE YOU JUST TRYING TO FEEL HIGH??? BECAUSE *ONLY* A PERSON WANTING TO FEEL HIGH AND ABUSE THEIR PAIN MEDICATIONS WOULD EVEN THINK ABOUT CHEWING A FENTANYL PATCH, NEVER MIND ASKING A FORUM THATS FULL OF *LEGIT* HONEST PEOPLE WHO ARE LEGITIMATELY SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC PAIN AND WHO GO THRU NIGHTMARE AFTER NIGHTMARE FROM OUR DOCTORS JUST TO GET OUR PAIN MED PRESCRIPTIONS BECAUSE OF I**** F***TARDS THAT ABUSE THEIR MEDS AND SCREW IT UP BAD FOR THE REST OF US LEGIT PAIN SUFFERING PEOPLE. SO YEH......NO PROB, CHEW AWAY... GOTTA BE F**KING KIDDING ME WITH THIS INSANE COOCOO BS, WOW

Don't people are dying from those patches chewing on them.you don't know the amount your taking cause the medication is not evenly put on the patch .one half could contain most of the medicine and you overdose
