UpdatedIs it safe to take a prescription dated 8/2013?

Hello, Dolly! How are you?
It doesn't get dangerous once it's expired, but it does begin to lose effectiveness, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. Medications tend to degrade over time. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if you still need to take it.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antihistamine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and somnolence.
Is there anything else I can help with?
