I'm taking exluton pills, naubos ko n po ung 1 pack ng pill pero d p rin po ako ngkakaron, may possibility po b n buntis ako?

@Rhizzy: Hi there! it's nice that you raised this question dahil baka marami rin ang gusto magtanong nito. It's true that there can be irregular bleeding and reduced effectiveness if used with other drugs or substances such as the following: laxatives, slimming tea, activated charcoal, castor oil (mga nagpapabilis ng transit time ng food sa bituka, in other words, yung mga nagdudulot ng pagtatae ...kasi baka sumama lang dun yung pill nang hindi pa naaabsorb ng katawan), other drugs that increase clearance of exluton are phenytoin, barbiturates, primadone, carbamazipine, rifampicin (yung pang-TB), oxcarbamazipine, topiramate,felbamate, ritonavir, griseofulvin and products containing st.john's wort... kaloka ano? ang dami?...pero the drugs mentioned are not found over the counter, these are mostly prescription drugs used sa psychiatric patients, or those with seizure disorders, or yung may tuberculosis... yung Ascof/ Ascof Forte is mainly herbal kasi main constituent niya is Lagundi...which is okay. hi docmom thank you po. :) sobrang na-relief lang din po ako sa sagot nyo... oo nga dami nakakaloka dapat ipaalam mo talaga muna bago ka bumili ng gamot. anyway docmom naisp ko lang po,di po pala maganda na after taking a pill eh dudumi ka ?? naisip ko l;ang nmn po. :)
yung vaginal discharge??? ganun po ba talaga yon? madami? thank you po ulit doc!

@Rhizzy: well, kung yung regular na pag-BM (pagdumi) after intake ng pill ang ibig mong sabihin, okay lang kasi yun namang nailabas eh galing sa large intestines na habang yung pill eh nasa tiyan pa. Normally, it will take about 4-6 hours for the food you've just eaten to reach your large intestines. Pero kung may problema ka sa tiyan at bigla ka nag-LBM, o uminom ka ng slimming tea na ganun ang effect (LBM), ibig sabihin in less than 4 hours nailabas mo na yung kinain mo so hindi nagkaroon ng sapat na panahon yung bituka mo na mag-absorb ng nutrients (at gamot)... as for the vaginal discharge, kung clear to whitish na non-foul-smelling (walang amoy, parang white mens), normal lang yan kasi pinapalapot talaga ng exluton yung cervical mucus para hindi maging receptive yung environment for fertilization...pero dear, kung iba ang amoy at kulay and may kasamang ibang symptoms like pangangati or painful urination, go ka na and visit your OB for check-up.

i'm taking exluton pill 11days ago and in the 12 day i forgot to take(exluton). and now is my 13 day is it okay to still continue to drink the pill on the 12 day? hence,me and my husband make love today, but we use withdrawal method? okay lang po ba yun? first time ko po magtake ng pill on my 2nd baby. I just dont want to get pregnant again cause risky po yung pagbubuntis ko sa ikalawa.

@Jaz: hi! for missed doses: if less than 3 hour late, take your pill as soon as remembered. if more than 3 hours late, take as soon as remembered then use additional barrier (condom) within the next 7 days, while continuously taking your pill daily. Contraceptive protection may be impaired if more than 27 hours have passed between 2 tablets. so kung lumabis na sa 27 hours yung pagitan ng pag-inom mo ng pill, there might be a possibility of you being fertile. Anyhow, kung successful ang method niyo (withdrawal) then just continue taking your pill, making sure that you don't miss it again, and for the meantime, always have a condom ready by your bedside kasi you will need extra protection within the next 7 days.

good day!docmon may tanong lang po ako,nung first time ko po nagtake ng exluton pills nung naubos na po d ako uminom agad ng kasunod na pack kc po wait ko ung period ko tapos po active kami ng partner ko wala pong condom or widtrawal 2 weeks na po ako wait sa period ko wala pa din po nag PT po ako to make sure na d ako buntis negative namn po ung result ng Pt tapos po uminom na uli ako ng exluton khit d pa ako nag mens may posibility po ba na mabuntis ako.thank you po

@Mary: hi! unlike other estrogen-based pills which you take on the 2nd-5th day of mens, ang exluton should be started 2 months after giving birth or on the 1st day of your period. yung succeeding blister pack should be started as soon as you finish one. NO INTERVALS dapat ke datnan ka o hindi. maraming reasons ang irregularity ng menstruation after giving birth. pwedeng di pa fully involuted yung uterus mo (di pa bumabalik sa dating size) and yung pregnancy hormones mo nasa circulation mo pa so di ka pa nag-oovulate uli...or you're breastfeeding kaya delayed ang ovulation or most likely, your pill is working dahil yun mismo ang side effect ng pill -- ang pagiging irregular ng mens. pwedeng mag-spotting ka lang or pwedeng di ka datnan from 1-3 months (hanggang 6 months pa nga for others, talagang magkakaiba). as for yung pregnancy test, regardless of brand, accurate lang if it reads an adequate amount of HCG in your urine (sa hospitals, thru blood test pwede)...and for a pregnant woman, it will take at least 2 weeks before ma-detect ang HCG sa urine so pwedeng buntis na pala pero negative ang PT cause too early pa para ma-detect. (I'm not scarng you ha, just stating facts...and sorry kung masyadong medical o technical ang terms ko...i'll try to simplify further kung malabo). I suggest you take another PT 2 weeks after the last day na nag-make love kayo ng husband mo to be sure. if it's negative then resume taking your pill by starting a new pack (para di ka malito). Also for the meantime, use extra contraceptive methods like condom when you get intimate. i hope i answered your question.

hi doc!ask ko lang po kung ano b best kung inumin kase irregular po ako last na nagkaroon po ako april 15,2010 till now wala pa po.advisable po b uminom ng pills kahit wala pa ako o ano po b dapat kong inumin.tnxs po

@Leck: hi. yung regularity ng menstrual cycle naten is mainly affected by balance of our female hormones - estrogen and progesterone. Yung peak in estrogen levels causes ovulation while yung pagbagsak naman ng progesterone levels causes menstruation. Pagka pregnant ang isang babae, masmataas ang progesterone level kesa estrogen so walang ovulation na nangyayari while the pregnancy is going on. This also allows the internal environment to be suitable to maintain pregnancy. Maraming klaseng pills. yung Exluton mainly progesterone-like siya so in effect, pagka uminom ka ng Exluton, hindi ka mag-oovulate. Walang egg na marerelease from your ovary so walang mafe-fertilize kaya hindi ka mabubuntis. Kung naman regulation ng menstrual cycle mo ang concern, then Exluton is not for you. You should take an Estrogen-containing pill (eto yung klase ng pill na iinumin mo for 28 days then stop ka muna for 7 days to wait for your mens, or yung may 28 pills na white + 7 na ibang color sa isang blister pack). Ask ko lang, ikaw ba irregular ever since you had your period o naging irregular after giving birth? prior to april 15, kelan yung last menstruation mo?

i gave birth last October, and den dnatnan ako May na,the first day of my mens nag exluton na ako.5 days lang ung mens ko nun,after nun ndi na ako dnatnan till now..its been 2 months already..worried na ako..baka ano na to..pls help

@Marie Gabriel: hi! if you've taken Exluton daily since you've started last May then you don't have to worry. yung irregularity ng menstrual cycle is a common side effect nung pill. pwedeng di ka datnan ng 1-3 months or pwedeng shortened yung menstrual flow (3-5 days lang) or pwedeng spotting lang. To give you peace of mind and to confirm, you can take a home pregnancy test 2 weeks after your last sexual activity. Just continue taking your pill daily as scheduled without interval. :)

hi docmom.its me again. :) tinuloy ko na po yung exluton ko for a new pack kahit di pa ko nag mens..ok lang naman po dba?breastfeeding pa po kasi ako kaya dipa nagkakaron.. tama po ba?

good morning docmom,ask ko lang po nagtatake po ako ng exluton pills mauubos na po ung pangalawang blister d pa din po ako nagmemens,eh mag papalit po sana ako ng althea pills ask ko lang po kung wait ko po ba ng magmens ako bago ako magstart uminom ng althea or inom ako agad pagubos na ung 2nd blister ng exluton?sana po matulungan nyo ako thank you!

@Rhizzy: hello dear. oo, common side effect ang spotting. try to take note of the dates...baka yan na yung mens mo for the month...
@Nhe: yup, it's best to start Althea on the first day of menstruation...so better wait for your menses after you finish your 2nd blister pack of Exluton. It might take a while though...or a week after, depending on your normal hormones. If ever, visit your OB too. good luck!

thanks po doc.:) kaya lang kasi doc i get slight bleeding after contact..pero di nmn ito nagtatagal..at onti lang talaga parang bahid lang.. wala rin namang masakit. ano po kaya ito? should i see na ba my OB? thanks po. :)
