I've been taking oxycontin oc with different mgs. and now I just recieved these new oxycontins that are 30 mgs. op and I cant get them to break down so that I can inject them I'm really going through some terrible withdraws. can some one please give me some advice so that I can? Thank you

Linda: go to a church forum where you might find some people who actually agree with you.. addiction is a disease which you have obviously never had to deal with.. .you bashing addicts is the same as me telling someone with diabetes that they are a bad person for having diabetes, and Shirley you are just an idiot... you are OBVIOUSLY an addict yourself.. just because you don't IV the drug doesn't make you any better than anyone else... there are other ways to manage pain besides OC, and if you can not get through the day without pain meds you are just as much an addict as me or any one else on this forum... so both of you grow up, this is a forum for people like us to gain knowledge to help us do what we do in the safest way possible.. find a forum that caters to your needs, i hope you end up on a forum where people bash you for what you are!

To support Sarah and try to educate all of those people who post such negative things on this site, I'd like to share a very well known statistic.

It is very important for everyone who does post on this site to know and understand that Suicide is the leading cause of death among people who abuse alcohol and drugs. It is NOT overdosing, or drug-related, but SUICIDE!

This is why safe, informational websites like this one are very, very important. Many people are stuck, addicted to different substances and the only way they think they are able to get "out" is by suicide. This is unacceptable, as addiction is a disease, just like cancer, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, etc. It needs to be treated as such.

So, please keep this website informational and an open forum, for those who are using Oxycontin in different ways, a good place to visit and learn. Any way we can educate people will only help them, rather than bashing them.

I couldn't resist replying to Shirley's ignorant comment! This "Junkie" replying to you now, me, should tell you that I am a college graduate, raised four children, my baby is 14, I buried my 18 yr old son, he was shot, and I make a six figure income. I was NOT a JUNKIE UNTIL 18 yrs ago when my doctor began prescribing me (due to a car accident) 5mg percocet, he increased it to 10mg perc's in a matter of three months, then approx a year later came the 40mg oxy's which then increased to 80mg oxy's, while still taking the 10mg perc's. Two months ago he added percocet 30's to the mix. The "junkie" in me, gets all my scripts filled each month. I take them, if someone needs one or two I share, and yes I have bought some off the street, I've even sold some in an attempt to hide things from my husband. I've begged him time & time again to stop masking my pain and let's try to fix it. I've gone to detox to lower my tolerance, taken suboxen, picked up right where I left off. Physical therapy does nothing but make my pain worse. I have had countless surgeries, nothing gets better, so yes I need my pain medication and I want my pain meds. I am sure I'd be safe to assume, that you are not aware that oxy's were first prescribed to cancer patients! Would you be so ignorant to a cancer patient, scolding them saying look what you have done, my pain meds don't work for my pain, so Purdue changed the formula!! I would hope not! Oh, and yes, last October I shot my first bag of dope, heroin, have shot oxy's and now have shot perc 30's and in two months had endocarditis. Yes, Shirley, I suffer tremendously every second of every minute of every day to the disease of addiction, and until you have actually taken a step in an addicts shoe, I suggest you keep your comments to yourself! You never know, you may come face-to-face with a real life "Junkie", not know it, and make a remark about another one of US, we are an elite group you know, and let me tell you, nah, I'll let you find out on your own!

I am a chronic pain patient who is also an addict does any1 know the differance btween addiction and.dependance? (Leme tell u fronm an educated dr's own mouth whom specializes in this field) addiction is the behavioral actions of serching the streets etc for a high etc) dependent is a genuine need for these meds but not the seeking behavior etc) so tell me genuise what do u call a person whom is both dependant and is an addict? Furthermore does being an addict which is almost a guarantee if u are dependant lomg term! Make u anyless a person etc bcuz the only thing in life that allows u 2 wake in the morn n live a sumwhat normal life? Nope but( maybe if there was a drug) that allowed 1 to injest it long term and not become addicted to it or be sick without it thatd b the answer (may b) but til then do not (I repeat do not) judge anything especially addiction till you have walked in these very same shoes k)

Sorry, but you are lying, sweetlady. These new OP pills that people use the microwave trick for didn't even exist in 2009. They just came out in the latter half of 2010.

unlike some of u im a drug addict ! The way i see it if u sell them well buy them ! Junkies rnt the only blame here! As for u who say we should go to the streets to get heroin, where can i find some worth shotting ? if u havent walked the walk then who r u to judge me !

ok. I just paid 30 dollars for an OP 80. I injected it and it worked great. Honestly to god if you think this is fake than add me on facebook or something. Wat i did was this: {edited for safety reasons}

The rush came immediately just like the old ones. I am not joking at all. I promise if you do EXACTLY as i posted than it will work. No vinegar, no microwave, just a little detour in the steps from the old way and it was pretty much identical.

Good Job. Go to God TV and talk to them. Leave the addicts alone. We know what we need, and it is not the advice of some so called Christian who wants to force their beliefs on everyone. Believe or go to hell.

You people are asking to die because I know a guy that his daughter died in 2009 from doing this cooking it in the microwave and shooting up with oxycontin and then a year his wife died the very same way the following year from the same thing you are doing shooting up oxycontin and thats enough to scare the piss out of anyone so you need to stop or you are gonna die from doing this. Its very dangerous so please stop. My sister also had over dosed on methadone and she went into seizures and had 2 strokes and a heari attack at 40 yrs old and it also legally blinded her as it brain damaged the part of her brain that helps us to see and she will never drive and can never work again and she stutters and can never find her words and forgets everything now. And no glasses wont help either. She has to have help with everything now that she does It also screwed up her blood pressure and she has to wear a blood pressure patch all the time too.

You blame the POOR decisions and TERRIBLE quality control over the drug companies on people who are drug addicts? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

If a drug company changes their formulation, it is THEIR responsibility to be certain that the bioavailability of the medication is the same as it was prior to changing the formulation. By the way, nobody MADE Pharma/Purdue change their formulation, it was just a suggestion by your Government (FDA).

No manufacturer should release ANY medication that is not effective. Whoever was responsible for assuring Oxycontin to be the SAME when they changed their formulation is at fault, not a single drug addict. Why do you think Oxycontin costs approximately $10.00 per pill? This is all Big-Drug company politics, that has nothing to do with "Drug-Addicts". Wake up!

If they were unable to produce an effective replacement product for the prior Oxycontin, then that is their responsibility, nobody else. Pharma/Purdue had absolutely NO quality control, all they saw was dollar signs. Now you are mad, but your anger is targeted at the wrong people.

Yes, I know that the new formulation (OP) of Oxycontin is not as Bioavailable as the original formulation, but that was the job of the manufacturer, nobody else. They did not run enough control testing, they did not compare the effects between the two for a sufficient period of time; the drug company is completely to blame.

So, if you have a problem, as I have said earlier, contact the Manufacturer and complain to the FDA, rather than placing blame where it does not belong. Too many times, these major drug companies release medications before they are tested and ready for public consumption, just for the almighty dollar!

Be smart and do the right thing; contact Pharma/Purdue and complain to the FDA. Simply by spewing hatred and accusations on this forum does not help anyone. It might make you feel better for about a second, then what?

Sometimes people's ignorance amazes me! Instead of taking action, you'd rather sit at your computer and point fingers. Well, you'd better be certain those fingers are pointed in the right direction.

this is why the people that really need this medicine are suffering as bad as you are that do not abuse drugs. they changed this trying to keep people such as your self not to die and in the mean time WE that do not abuse anything are going through hell. Thanks alot. I am not putting you down I have family members that abuse drugs but the pain and suffering due to people as yourself is the reason for it.

Your God, Jesus Christ is not my God, or most of this world's God, so stop shoving your views down our throats! It's a shame what happened to your family, but if you do not KNOW that addiction is a DISEASE, then crack a text book, or take a college class, instead of bible study, that tells you a man can live in a fish' body for weeks and still live. I'd rather stick to THIS WORLD and REALITY, rather than your opinions and fairy tales.

Again, nothing you say in this forum will help anyone, so I would suggest you go to your local community health center and volunteer your "Christian" services, or even work towards preventing the spread of AIDS from IV drug use. Do SOMETHING productive with your life, rather than blathering on and on about things you know nothing of. May MY GOD bless you and help you find the true light!

By the way, do you think you are correct when every single physician and scientist in this world says that Addiction IS a disease? What proof do you have that it isn't? What reputable reports can you quote, proving that addiction is a "choice" and not a disease? This was a discussion in the 80's. we are living in 2011, where it is common knowledge that addiction is a medical disease, with an ICD-9 code and Medical Treatment. Just because somebody (as you say) "chooses" to inject themselves, does not make them any less of an addict than someone who just takes pills, or drinks too much. Addiction IS a disease and you are only talking about how people "choose" to deal with it.

Go work at an addiction clinic, or a needle exchange program for about a month, I am sure your attitude will correct itself, real quick! Have you ever worked at a Methadone clinic? Have you ever tested for the HIV virus, for those who are addicts? Have you ever done anything? I am quite sure I know my answer to all of those questions. You are probably one of those people that would turn away needle exchange programs, in exchange for the tremendous spread of the HIV virus, just because JESUS, your GOD, told you so in your dreams.

You live in the real world, with real situations. You need to learn how to be helpful, rather than making the situation worse!

I came to this site because my Sister had some pain but instead of being responsible she started enjoying the GOOD HIGH you are all enjoying so much. I lost my Sister and my Brother to Heroin. Hell no, I say to this is not a choice! You're full of it. She chose to stick a needle in her arm. Now, she whines about how she wants a class action suit against everyone because of the plastic. She's a big time drug dealer. She's been cashing in making several thousands a month; selling her oxys. because she blew every vein in her arms; got an infection and almost lost her life and her arms; almost was baker acted; lost her children; her home; and her pinky fingers are twisted like pretzels from shooting up in them. I couldn't be happier about the plastic. I'm not judgmental. This is common sense 101. I hope they can put something else in this medication to make this epidemic go away!!! I could tell you all the tricks I know about that my Sister has up her sleeve but you'll have to find those on your own. I don't think my God; Jesus' Father would like me to give out that kind of information to junkies. STOP ABUSING DRUGS! You RUIN everyones' lives around you!!!
