if you use high doses of methadone daily for a long period of time, it's not at all uncommon for a urine test to detect it for a very long time. a specific test has to be performed to detect it though. a standard urine test doesnt find it at all. I am currently on methadone maintenance because of heroin addiction. the paperwork they gave me for the purpose of methadone education says that daily methadone use can cause a positive result in urine tests for up to 3 months. the longer you use it and the higher the dose, the longer its metabolites will remain in your urine. daily use for periods of 6 months or more will result in a positive screening for at least 4 weeks after you stop using it. so. it remains for a very very long time...

I took a drug test today at my suboxon clinic and failed .The thing about it is,I don't take anything but suboxon and have been doing that four almost three months.I also tested positive four methadone . So I read some on the topic ,and the Internet said methadone can still show in a drug test three months later in some cases.All depends on the persons weight and metabolism.

You SHOULD be ok. If u dont take it often and u only took 10mg, it will more than likely be out of your system. Keep in mind that everyone is different and methadone does have a long half life so it stays in your system longer than other narcotics. Otherwise, in my opinion, u should be ok...good luck! I have ran out of my meds and had to break down and take one methadone. I believe it was 10 mg. i go to my dr tues and today is friday. Should it be out of my system by then. I was desperate but i dont want to mess up with my dr... Plz help!!!

Don't forget your hippa? Rights whoever does your hair text as long as yoursupposed to take it nobody really has the right to know all your medicines unless you want them too so if you don't want them knowing take some record of it with you and tell the tech not to give that info your testing for illegal substances only again your medicine is really noneof their business

They can't test for methadone in. Standerd tests it's expensive and if you don't have history of opiate use they don't test for it

You cant take suboxone and methadone at the same time. Actually you cant take suboxone with any narcotic. It will throw you into withdrawal and make you very ill. You need to be off all narctotics for 2-3 days before switching back to suboxone. Be very careful...it will be a hard road...but you can do it!!!!

Could sum1 please help me... I used to b on suboxone years ago but for the last year I've been on 10-20 mg a day of Methadone. My prescribing dr retired & referred me to pain management. Which in turn said he wasn't going2 prescribe that 4my condition, he said he recommends detox but I have a young child&other kids in school but still is not an option for me2 go detox I have no1 2care for my children. I have tried switching back 2 suboxone on my own but makes u so very sick with this stupid Methadone in ur system.I have enuf percocet for 2wks to take & then I have an appt with a suboxone dr. Does any1 know if this will work? Can I switch to the percocet 4these cpl wks & then b able 2start on suboxones, or will it still make me debilitatingly ill when I take it? Or will the Methadone show up in my system after this length of time & my suboxone dr may turn me away? I don't know any other way of doing this. Can sum1 please share their experience on this subject or any knowledge u have of my situation would b greatly appreciated. Thank u

Oh no Methadone is still an opiate & it will show up in a regular drug test. Suboxone is the 1 that doesn't show up unless the dr is specifically testing for it.

Yes my sister has been off methadone for 3 and a half weeks. She started showing symptoms of a stroke she's 67 and it showed up in her urine. I'm her caretaker and no way she could have gotten any. We live in assisted living.

Yesss the same thing happened to me...55 days and I'm still pos for methadone. The sub dr even told me one week I was clean. No way..I haven't took any at all. And get this I'm testing neg foe suboxnes..
And they give me three a day which I take. Go figure.

Yes it will take a good 45 days if not longer for it to get out of ur system. I was on 30mg for three yrs and after 52 dsys I'm still testing positive.
