I have taken 35mg of methadone today, and i have a urine drung test coming up, how long will it take to get out of my urine?

how is this offensive? it's one of if not the most educated and informative posts in this thread, of which i've made it some 28 pages into. If youre sobriety is that easily compromised i suggest taking yourself to a twelve step meeting and explaining why you are researching how long drugs stay in your system while being offended at the same time.

i was taking methadone starting at 15mg and upgrading my 5mg daily for only a week and im still testing positive in a lab urine test 4 weeks later. be careful and know your tests before you get yourself in trouble

The exact thing happened to me, I wanted off the methadone so made an appt with the subozone dr, I did not take it for 10 days waiting to go to dr and he said it was still in my system. Needless to say though that I weighed 110 and was taking 160mg a day every morning at 6 for 2 years. So guess it was just stored in my system...

i was on methadone 100 sometimes morre for 7 yrs and I went off it coldturkey and it was still there 30 days later!

Well your up the creek, my daughter took one ten mg methadone.tested at her pain clinic 9 days later she was positive for it and they dismissed her from the clinic . good luck it says in your system a long time and depending on weight and metabolism it can stay awhile.

You really told this in a way that will touch many people. I to suffer and just dream of a day without thinking about pills and to be pain free and do what i want. But God bless you for inspiring me

It will be in your system when you take your test. As Amanda has been stating, everyone is different but from many many years of experience, I can honestly say yes its will show up. I hate how the doctors are more and more treating those of us who are in severe pain as drug addicts. I finally told my doctor, look I am in pain so bad some days I pray I don't wake up in the morning. I am not a damn junky, if I was I sure as hell would not be in his office crying my eyes out! I told him its soooooo much easier to just find them on the streets. But due too then fact that I truly just want too have a somewhat normal life not shoot heroin in my veins I come too him. So many ppl have dreams of being famous, rich, etc., I dream of waking up and being able too take a morning piss without waiting 45 minutes for feeling too come too my legs, and the feeling of my spine being completely locked up before peeing on ,myself(sadly this has happened more than I like too share). After listening too me for 30 minutes without saying a word he looked me in the eye, with tears in his eyes and said he respected me for being honesty with him especially about being able too walk outside and get anything you can imagine. Too my complete shock and relief he actually raised my medication dose and how often I am able too take the medication. This may be the first month since 2003 that I may be able too actually not want too stay in bed and actually get out and see what the rest of the world gets to see/enjoy everyday. I wish you all luck and ty for listening too my story! Please keep me posted if anyone else tries just being straight with your doctor and how it goes for you. ;)

Yes it's possible since the average is 14 days for methadone to leave your system. So if your overweight, have a low metabalizem, eat junk food or greasy foods, and don't do much physical activities it would stay in your system longer. A doctor should know this unless he was trying to get you to "spill it" basically. Their are also certain sleep aids and allergy meds sold over the counter that will cause a false positive. If your innocent I'd recommend telling your doctor that he may want to do his research on methadone more lol. If he's sending your test to a lab maybe ask him to try a different facility because I've had clean tests that should've been dirty. Some labs just don't do the job as good as they should and your doctor can have them do a more thourogh test that's breaks down everything even to the point of what percent of the substance is present which would show your percent very low and prove your innocence. I realize this was asked years back so I'm sorry this info is so late. If you could let me know when it did come back clean that would help me out with a similar problem I'm having. Thanks :)

I just wanted to share my story...I took MS Contin 60mg on Sunday and 20mg of Methadone the Tuesday prior. Had a 10 panel urine test on Wednesday. (6 days after Methadone and exactly 72 hrs after 60mg MS Contin). I drank lots of water 2 days before the test, drank a redbull an hour before the test and took a multivitamin...I passed. The stress nearly killed me! Will never do that again not worth it!!!!

Yes. I can pretty much guarantee that you will test positive for methadone for the next couple weeks. It has a long half life (which means it lasts for a long time, in other words) so it takes a good amount of time to finally make its way out of your system completely

Depends on how long u took it. If u took one....I can't say. I know I took 35 mg for 3.5 yrs and it took 5 months to leave my system. Not even sure I go with the 'depends on ur weight' theory. I'm overweight and can smoke a few j's and still pass my tests. So...
