I have taken 35mg of methadone today, and i have a urine drung test coming up, how long will it take to get out of my urine?

Ive been taking 30mg of Methadone a day for 10 years for pain relief. Its the only thing that has ever worked. lately it seems doctors are afraid of lawsuits so have stopped prescribing it. They also want to make money on procedures and injections that you have to go do every 2 -4 months - which by the way also mask the pain. So if I end up dead, let the record state its not for abusing the drug but its because of the doctors that just stopped prescribing it and not providing any instructions or methods to taper off. My pharmacist has been so concerned he gave me his cell phone but told me I will be violently sick and if no doctor will help, I should go to the emergency room. Doctors dont care, Its all about money, so I dont care anymore either. Maybe if I die, it will help other people. Plus Im not prepared to live the rest of my life in chronic pain. So hopefully after Im dead, t his will find its way into the right hands and spark some kind of solution...plus an easy investigation into DR DaRo (theyll find it on my computer) who caused this by unprofessionally stopping the medication without providing any referral or any instructions or help on how to taper. Never abused. In perfect health otherwise. Never failed a drug test. Perfect health and EKG from recent physical. And no Tolerance as have been on the same dose for 10 years now with no negative side effects.

Don't post if your not positive please I have been sober for a year now. I was sectioned by the state and sent to a 1/2 way house 27 days after starting treatment. I went in with a screaming heroin and percocet habit, also had benzos and cocaine in my system. I was put on methadone and phenobarbital protocal. My first week at the house I was drug tested and was completely clean of all toxins. Yes every person has a different metabolism but sorry to break it to you but your husband who tested positive 2 months later tested positive because he was still using.

The length of time any drug (illicit or prescribed) stays in your system will vary. In large part, it depends on your physiological makeup (e.g., your physical height, weight, your amount of body fat, your age, current state of health, whether or not you exercise mildly-aggressively-or at all). Whether or not you are undergoing any degree of stress (i.e., your "state of mind") at the time you ingest drugs can play a part as well.
Still other considerations include your "frequency" of use (1x per day? 3-5x per day?), the "quantity" of drug you used each time, and the "length of time" (days? weeks? months?) of your consistent drug-use prior to your drug test. Even the quality ("potency") of the drug you ingest determines "how long" the drug is detectable in your system when your urine is analyzed (tested) at the lab.
However, for most people, detectable levels (i.e., shows up as a "positive" in a laboratory drug test) of the following drugs stay in the body for these approximate periods of time.
Methadone, 1-7 days.
Depends on use. one time -3 days. maintenance use - 1 week.
As for adequate dosing and effects approx. 24 hours , after that withdrawal symptoms appear as for drug testing I could estimate it not appearing on specific methadone test after 5-10 days of abstinence.
I have been on methadone for almost 3 years and from what I've been told methadone has a "half life" of 24 hours... meaning 1/2 the methadone is in your system for 24 hours. So for example, someone who's only taken one dose of methadone, say 50 mg.


Day 1: 50 mg. (Day they took it).
Day 2: 25 mg.
Day 3: 12.5 mg.
Day 4: 6.25 mg.
Day 5: 3.12 mg.
Day 6: 1.56
Day 7: .78
***Generally once you get below 1/2 mg. it doesn't show up.
However, for someone like me who takes methadone daily, and has, for a long period of time, it would take longer. Even if someone took it a week it'd be much longer.
Example:
Day 1: 50 mg. (Day you took it)
Day 2: 25 mg. from original dose. PLUS: Additional 50 mg.
Day 3: 12.5 from original dose, 25 from 2nd dose. PLUS: 50 mg.
Day 4: 6.25 from original, 12.5 from 2nd, 25 from 3rd. PLUS: 50 mg.
Day 5: 3.12 from original, 6.25 from 2nd, 12.5 from 3rd, PLUS: 50 mg.
Day 6: 1.56 from original, 3.12 from 2nd, 6.25 from 3rd, 25 from 4th, PLUS: 50
Day 7: .78 from 1st, 1.56 from 2nd, 3.12 from 3rd, 12.5 from 4th, 25 from 5th, PLUS: 50

you r speaking the truth about the methadone. it should never be used as a method of pain control. the only reason it's being used is because of all the "laws" that keep people from getting the proper kinds of pain relief. i know in my heart u will NEVER want to go thru what i had to do to get off that crap. i don't care how much pain i'm in & i've had severe chronic pain since i was 15 & i'm now 56, i would never take a dose of methadone ever again for the rest of my life. i hope & pray that u can find relief with the smallest amounts of pain medication as possible & to try other methods such as meditation, proper body mechanics & mindful thinking to ease not only the physical pain, but the mental pain that come with all this stuff. may you be grateful for the tiny moments.

In case you are taking this without a prescription you are jeopardizing your daily life. Methadone is really a many different substance after that Oxycontin, morphine or perhaps narcotics. You run potential risk of the respiratory system disappointment specifically if you are asleep. Thus job drug treatments drugs unless of course they're approved for your requirements.

Yeah I took two white methadone pills 2days ago I don't do any drugs just found out that for some strange reason I have to go get drug screened Thursday my brother told me the pills were like weak and like 7.5 s and that I needed to take two to feel better so I did now I'm worried

yes, & even longer. i was on methadone for 8 years & finally decided to get off it. it has an extremely long half life & it took a year before i really felt like a human being. please don't believe that methadone is a good plan for pain control. it even goes deep into your bones. i know this from experience, so please try anything else before you get on this stuff. it's really very toxic & then you can't get off it.

I just heard the same thing out of my suboxoe doctors mouth. I had not takin any methadone in 15 days and my urine came up dirty for it. However I have barely been eating or drinking anything. I got back to the doctor in 2 days and I'm really gonna be shocked if it is still in my system.

You are correct about the drinking until you pee clear or near clear, you can alway stary to pee, and then catch the urine sample towards the end of your stream. Doing this ensures that you will test clean because the most potent of sediment that makes you test positive settles on the bottom of your bladder. I have been on ox, meth, perks, vics, and phine for a long time, lets just say I have passing a urineallisis down to a science!! Hope this helps the fellow drug screen dodgers....

Yes..I was just told from my pain clinic the same thing!!! It had been longer than that for me..an I couldn't believe it either....oh we'll they say drs no best but..I THINKNOT !!!

The withdrawal is way way longer than getting off heroin it mentally destroys you you will feel anxious for weeks and the temptation to take some methadone to take away the anxiety is overwhelming that's why people stay on it for years I have been clean for years but would much rather go cold turkey a nightmare

ive been using herion, IV for ten years, a gram of raw /day or more! I went on a weeks vacation and took enough methadone to last me. I only used 20mgs/day, the first 3 days, then none!! I had some very mild night sweats, but thats ALL!! Im eating normally, sleeping only 5-6 hrs/nite, but thats expected. Im good to go!!! I NEVER half to be SIC again!!! Thanks Be TO GOD! Metahadone works very well for short-term detox, youll have some wd symptoms, but u can hang!! High doses of methadone will have severe wd's!!! Only use what u need to feel somewhat normal!! Then taper down!! u read how much dope i was injectn !!!

actually,,!! methadone can stay in ur system up to 18 days...i have been on methadone for two years. im a liitle overweight, i detoxed of methadone and a month later, I still had it show up in my urine. methadone stores in your fatty cells. so if your at all overwieght, it can take months to get out of your system.
