Ive been on Lyrica for over 3 years now and am not "addicted" to it. Also, it is NOT something that will get you in trouble with a drug test unless you do Not have a prescription for it.

Ive been on Lyrica for over 3 years. At one point, I was on 100mg, once daily, and I took it in the am finding that when I took it at night, it kept me up, not because of the med but because I finally felt good. I take it for Fibromyalgia/CFS. One morning, not quite awake, I took my night time meds, which did not include my Lyrica, and by 5 that night I was violently vomiting, barely able to function. I took it asap, calling the pharmacy to see what to do about my next dose, they just had me take it a little later the next day and work it back down to the morning. It is NOT a good idea to stop this without talking to your doctor. And remember as far as how it effects other people etc, Ive seen some people say Cymbalta was a huge help, where as Cymbalta put me on the floor in tears after only being on it a week. Each medication treats each person VERY differently. It is important that while these forums provide answers to your questions, its always best to talk to your doctor, also pharmacists are VERY helpful. I call them before I call my doctor as most times they have programs that cross check other meds and give them all the avail info and they are TRAINED to discuss these things. You don't have to give them your name if you are calling for general info on a med.

I was on Lyrica (75mg) for one week and then went to 150 mg/day and by the second day I had throbbing headaches. I quit the next day because I couldn't take it. I still have this headache three weeks later. I can take gabapentin but not lyrica. Taking for fibro.

You obviously have some other medical condition.dont blame it on a drug u took months ago, its impossible to still have side effects from the lyrica this long afer.not to mention scaring people away from a drug tjat is working wonders fors people who have been stuck on addictive narcotics and can now take lyrica witch has almost no addictive behaviors associated with it.so keep your pissy non educated opinions to yourself.

I just took 100mg for the first time for chronic unspecific pain. Well I fell asleep on the couch,and since waking up my pain is still horrible and I'm disoriented and dizzy. No thank you,I'll stick to my narcotics.

It took me from February to September to wean myself off of lyrica! I couldn't believe how painful it was. Chills, sweating, aching, poor sleep, irritibility, severe depression, and though I took the last 25 mg 10 days ago, I still have difficulty. 3 days I took a bit of one, just to give me a temporary reprieve. Hardest drug to quit than I ever imagined or was ever told!

I tried Pregabalin (150mg) for fibromyalgia for 3 weeks. The first day, I had euphoria which did not manifest itself ever since. I was very drowsy and constipated for a week or so. Then, the side effects got better.
I also take Tramadol and had to stop it while on pregabalin because of bad interaction. Like a migraine: blurred vision, headache and throwing up a few times.
I've now been off it for 10 days but still feel quite nervous. I can't attribute that feeling to anything else, so I think it's most probably the pregabalin. It might well be that the drug has already been metabolised, but the brain receptors may take much longer to adjust to not having it in the blood.
Some people with fibromyalgia saw great improvements with pregabalin, but it just made my mind foggier than usual. No help with the pain.

Hi! I've been on Lyrica for 6 days now at 50 mg at night! Was suppose to take twice day but knocked me out for 12 hrs first time so not takin it during day! This is second time been on this med first time was for nerve pain in knee after hit by car and this time is for foot pain from large toe to ankle that Dr has no idea what is causin it! Have decided that I was right first time this poison was given to me and I quit it then sleeping all the time confusion anger was not worth it! I was actually drivin down highway and forgot what was suppose to do! The steering wheel and all seemeed familar but didn't remember how to use them! Thank God I pulled over saftly and called my husband! I stopped takin it with no withdrawl! Now I am done with this med once again! I've had headaches several days not to mention hang over effects! I'm dizzy and worse part is I'm so depressed! I have no desire at all to do anything! I am wanting to find out how long before I feel like myself again? Oh yeah also I'm tired exhasted really but can't sleep! Its horrible!

My sister was on Lyrica for only 6 days, 2 years ago. She stopped taking it because she began having episodes of left sided weakness and tremor, headaches, and somnolence. Now she has the episodes every few months, even though she no longer takes the drug. The other day, she had another episode but this time, she was unable to speak. She thought she was having a stroke and it took several hours to get her speech back. Now she feels cloudy and floaty, her left hand tremors and her left side is weak. CT and MRI are negative for stroke. Everything she is experiencing is side effects of taking Lyrica for just 6 days. When will these episodes stop? She is seeing a neurologist this week.

This stuff is poison i had tremmors, weight gain, swelling of feet but worse of all falling over inc falling down stairs and breaking my foot and now terrible withdrawral symptoms....NEVER AGAIN!!!

If you have abused drugs before you have certain receptors in your brain that trigger your addictions. Any addiction like alcohol or drugs. The Lyrica seems to flip a switch on for these receptors and will make you either want drugs or alcohol or Lyrica in itself is an addictive drug. Word of the wise Lyrica and alcohol or drugs DO NOT MIX. It will make you craziier than a bed bug. I am a respectable nurse of 10 yrs. and was prescribed Lyrica for my continued pain in incisions after surgery. The dr. thought my nerve endings were excited and he was right. The Lyrica helped w/ the pain. But it also flipped a switch that was unlike me, I started drinking hard liquor and having suicidal ideation. (So unlike me!) It got so bad one day that I OD'd on Lyrica and drank a whole bottle of whiskey. I blacked out for 10 hrs. Apparently I was in the ER being very uncooperative and the police arrested me for public intox. Can you believe that? Now to me that is just dirty. You remove someone from their home who needs medical attention, take me into the public and let someone out of their skull refuse medical care so you arrest them for public intox? I think the hospital should have given me a sedative and put me in the ICU. Either way it would have been a wake up call. All the Lyrica is out of the house along w/ the alcohol. If you have any addictive tendancies - DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG! I know everyone is different w/ the way meds affect them, but you don't want to find out the hard way. The 1st time I ever took Lyrica I was actually accidently given 3 times the dose I was supposed to get. I was stumbbling around the house to get ready for work. It made me feel drunk even though I hadn't been. It took away my common sense, I went to work anyway, I know I drove, but I don't remember it. I luckily had enough sense to talk to my charge nurse before clocking in and she sent me home and wouldn't let me drive! The Lyrica experience has been one of the worst times in my life!!!!!

can calcium be absorbed by our body if vitamin D is taken afterwards as calcium is deposited in brain.

I would tend to agree with you however, your grammer, and spelling lend you no merit. Being awake for over 24 hours can lead to poor thinking. Gets some rest.

My husband came of this drug 8 days ago, GP sanctioned, (50mg twice a day for neuropathy of legs and feet ) He had been on this a long time and takes many other medications for various problems, He feels sick, can't eat (bad as he is diabetic) is confused,spends many hours throughout the day in bed but can't sleep so depressed. I am at my wits end as I don't know what to do and he gets angry and shouts at me. How long before this ends .HELP

I had a Spine Dr. prescribe Lyrica to me for Fibromyalgia. I took it for 18 days and I couldn't stand the "foggy thinking." It took forever for me to process things and it was an awful feeling. I decided to quit it "cold turkey" and so far have experienced seven days of diarrhea. The good thing is that I don't feel like eating and I have lost quite a bit weight (16 pounds to date). It's not a healthy way to lose weight and I have been living on water, Sprite, and bananas. I am starting to come out of the fog but I am no where near my normal state of thinking.

my sister has been on lyrica for about 3 months, and the side effects are crazy. she has mood swings and cries or lashes out with sooo much anger, and that's just a couple of things....the list goes on and on. I made her stop taking this medication and I would suggest that anyone who is on it to run...not walk away from it.

Ijust went cold turkey off Lyrica, this is the worst nightmare ever been through, doc said not ONE freakin word aboutside effects of stopping like this, was taking 100 mil three timesa days, been off 6 days and about tolose my mind sweats suicide thoughts pain, sleeplessness sleepiness, about any symptoms youcan think of, I will NOT goback on it, how much loner will this hell last and is there anything that will help with the hell I am going through, scared to death
