How long do you have to quit taking clonazepam to pass a drug test?

I have been on Klonopin for 13 yrs and I am 35 years old! I just found out I was pregnantfor the very first time EVER!!! My doctor had me stop this and Cymbalta cold turkey! I feel soooooooo weird!!! Is this a result of withdrawal from this drug?? I'm having a really hard time not taking it! I haven't had it in five days but I feel I'm getting worse!!!! HELP???????!!!!!!!???????? I have jitters, pin pokes in my legs and arms and major anxiety plus had a major panic attack in Kroger the other day!

wow. I'm very surprised that you have not had worse withdrawal symptoms being off it for five days. I was on 6mg for seven years and they hit me hardcore the day after I was taken off them. I understand that they are dangerous for an unborn baby, and doctors do not like to have you on those meds but my doctor told me that in rare cases they have to do a stress risk vs meds risk or something like that to see if you have to continue taking them because stress can become just as harmful for the baby AND you during pregnancy.

On a side note, I have still been going through withdrawals to date after weeks and still on the xanax. I also had two seizures two days ago and ended up in the ER. First time in my life and the dr told me that it was def due to my dr dropping me straight off my klonopins and that he should in no way have done that and tapered me. I have one week until i go to the dr to get back on my klonopin and I am not letting someone do that to me again. My son found me convulsing. He thought I was dying. I, of course, remember nothing of it until I awoke in the hospital, but I cannot imagine the absolute terror that my fifteen year who i have raised all his life alone must have been feeling and going through. Once back on my meds and able to leave my house, drive and such, as I haven't been able to this entire time, I am looking into reporting him and maybe even going so far as to find an attorney.

Good luck to you and if your symptoms get any worse you should definitely insist that your doctor talk with you about it more and if they are severe GO TO THE ER. you do not want to end up there unkowningly. And seizures are extremely dangerous. They can be fatal. If you are not around someone, no one finds you, you do make it to a doctor, etc....you don't know what will happen. Good luck to you and keep a record of your symptoms and try to write a detailed log of your days so that you have it for your doctor. Best wishes!

THIS DRUG IS THE DEVIL. THIS PERSON SAID IT CORRECT!!! I HAD A TIA (SMALL STROKE 4 DAYS AFTER COMING OFF THIS EVIL DRUG... NEVER EVER TAKE. NO ANTI ANXIETY DRUG FOR THAT MATTER. LEARN TOOLS FOR ANXIETY. SLOW BREATHING, MEDITATION, YOGA, ANYTHING BUT THESE MEDS. THEY ARE THE DEVIL AND YOU CAN DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I too was on klonopin 2mg. 3 times a day for severe anxiety and panic disorder for over 10 years and my dr. took me off cold turkey. Now I have epilepsy due to the severe withdrawals that came with it. So now I have to take Depakote and Topomax for the rest of my life and I still have Grand Mal seizures due to all of his poor medical practice!! I am only 40 yrs. old and I have been going through this since 2004!!

Omg, thats terrible! Sounds so similar to mine. I've been put back on my meds and seem to be doing fine, I haven't had any more seizures in the last two weeks but that makes me scared! It's bad enough knowing I'll have SAD and GAD for the rest of my life, I can't imagine that too!

After reading these experiences, I am apprehensive as I begin to wean myself off of clonazepam. I have no idea how many years I have been on this drug, and the doctor who prescribed it for anxiety/restless leg syndrome has retired. I currently take 2 mgs at bedtime. Beginning last night, I cut one tablet in half, and so I took 1.5 mgs last night. I have read that the half life of the pill could last up to 50 hours. Wow! was my reaction. The plan is to staywith this dose for 5 days..then go to 1 mg for five more, and .5 for five days after that. After reading about experiences here. I am having second thoughts...not about decreasing the dose 25% at a time, but howmany days to do it.

Anyone have any suggestions to help here?

To the comments below. I would up the# of days between decreasing. At last 10 days. Once you start feeling more comfortable with that dose. I was also taken off of xanax on a days notice and 4-5 days later was in the hospital because of being sleep deprived and having hallucinations, so tread carefully and get the advice of a doctor.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had originally thought 2 weeks at each level, just want off so much. I have gone 3 nights on the 1.5...slept first night, 5 hourse the next, and 3 hours last night.

Maybe try 1.75 instead of cutting it by .5 That way its not as drastic of a change

I went to a party where someone fed me about 14 of them and I lost the next three days of my life then ended up passing out in my bathroom and smashing my head off the counter. Ended up in the hospital with a concussion where they did urine and blood samples and found nothing. So I guess it only lasted in my system a couple days, but i guess different body types break them down differently.

So if u take them here an there how long does it take to get out may have took 4 yesterday an 5 today but never take them need to take a pee test for my cna classes will I pass if I dnt take them anymore till like moday is my test

I have been on either xanax or klonopin for about 6 years now. I had terrible withdrawals with xanax and no withdrawals with klonopin after dropping them both cold turkey at different times. I am trying natural stuff and am doing great after 2 months. One good one is A2X and the other, since I am also trying to loose weight, is RealDose Weight Loss Formula No.1 (it helps with anxiety also). I am so much happier! Now I need to get off Pristiq and Abilify. The Abilify has caused my stomach to get huge - I look pregnant! It is depressing in itself. Good luck everyone. I feel your frustration.

What happened? My heart jumps and wakes me up all night long. Is it a reaction to the medicine? Did you try something new? Did it get rid of the jumps? I'm trying to figure out if it's the medicine or anxiety. My dr said it would not be the medicine, but it started when I started taking the medicine. I've never before this had anxiety.

I took 2milligrams 4 times a day that is a huge amount I did this for 4 years and my dr. Discontinued my meds with no explination I truly thought I wanted to diemy heart would beat so fast and hard I would hit myself in the chest and felt like i couldn't breath tears would run down my face I'm so glad its over I couldn't do it again.

I'M SORRY BRO BUT XANAX IS A POTENT IF NOT THE MOST POTENT BENZO. WHILE CLONAZEPAM IS THE WEAKEST BENZO. XANAX (ALPRAZOLAM) HITS U ALL AT ONCE AND FAST BUT IT DOESN'T LAST AS LONG. KLONOPINS DON'T HIT BAS HARD AS XANAX ITS MORE OR LESS EXTENDED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. BUT I GUARANTEE U ASK 9 OUT OF 10 PEOPLE WHETHER THEIR MOTIVE IS TO TREAT ANXIETY OR TO CATCH A BUZZ, 9 OUT OF 10 PEOPLE WILL CHOOSE 5 MG OF XANAX A DAY AS OPPOSED TO 6 MGS OF KLONOPINS A DAY. AND AT THE VERY LEAST THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR ANY TYPE OF WITHDRAWAL. I DON'T GET IT

Ya tell yourself that. Eight years now on klonopin, Xanax did nothing for me. Yes they have a longer shelf life and is more of an even keel thing, unlike xanax, klonopin doesn't get you high and it is definitely NOT The weakest benzo! I've been on all then over the years, I would sat African is the weakest and ya people do want xanax cuz it makes then high, I hate them. Klonopin just makes me normal and if someone hasn't been taken them regularly they probably won't have withdrawals but earlier this year my Dr dropped me and tried putting me on Xanax. I went through hell. No one should be stopped cold turkey on ANY benzo but klonopin has the highest addictive rate and eventualities had seizures from it. My world was f***ed for about a month and I thought I WA going to die
