Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

George -- I'm happy with your obvious good results. I must say I am envious of the number of pellets you are able to get. My insurance will only pay for six (6) and now I'm waiting on biopsy of 26 tissue samples of prostate biopsy done a week ago today. Obviously, if any of them come back 'positive', that is the END of my TESTOPEL experience. I've had an ongoing prostate problem, having been on a rotation of various antibiotics for the past twelve (12) years. In 2010, had LEFT testicle removed because infection had "eaten thru" part of the testicle wall and I was unable to stand the pain anymore.

How big a man are you? 20 pellets?
I've been doing testopel for 5+ years. I'm 6 foot 200lb very active and my dr and I have discovered through trial and error that for me 9 pellets every 4 months is about perfect. Your testosterone level has no business going above 800. Plus how can you afford this?

I take 12 every three months and am 6 foot 1 inch tall. 210 pounds and very active. At the end of 3 months I am in the 300 level.

Hey George: Bob here.

I'm happy you are able to get the # of pellets that you are. I just got my six (6) which is all my insurance company will pay for. I tried paying for four (4) additional pellets, but at $75.00 a pellet, just couldn't swing it. I asked Doc today when I went to get my six (6) if it was just MY insurance company doing this and he said that more insurance companies than not are limiting the # to six (6), so if you are still able to get the higher number, I'm glad for you, as I know how much benefit I receive from them. Unfortunately, I am one of the men in minority who have a RED CELL INCREASE beyond an 'advisory level' as the higher the RED BLOOD CELL count, the greater risk for a stroke and/or cardiac event. Because of all of this, I must limit to only six (6) and not get sooner than every four (4) months. Because of the missing testicle that was removed in 2010, by about the 10th week after getting this dosage, I am GREATLY FEELING a need for the implantation. At this point, I just cherish the ability to get 'some relief' in this amount. Just completed a prostate biopsy of 26 tissue samples because of creeping up and creeping up of PSA.

I can read the frustration in your post. I have been lucky with the red cell blood count. PSA is also low. I do worry about all the talk on insurance. Mine has paid for the 12 pellets in full for the three times I did the procedure. They told me I needed to be in the 300 range when I got them, and for me that hits at about three months. Different people use it at different rates. Doctor thinks my activity level is what causes me to burn through the pellets so fast.
Bob, hope you can get to a point where they can hit you with 12 or more pellets.

Side effect of Testopel??? I had 6 pellets inserted on the first time and then 8 after 3 months. A couple weeks after the second insertion I started developing acne on my neck, chest and shoulders. When I went back for my 3rd insertion I mentioned the acne to him. He said that he had not seen that as a side effect before but wanted me to watch it. I am a 45yo male, 5'9" 190 who never has had more than a pimple here and there. Anyone else have this issue? Suggestions to help it?

Scott: 'Though I have not experienced those side effects myself, I have heard that it CAN be a problem. I would expect your Doc to monitor and see if it is a temporary thing or gets worse with continued implantations. Good luck.

I just had my blood work before I get another 12 testopel pellets next week. This has been my best cycle yet, feel full of energy, and wake up with morning wood every day. Moods are level, blood count normal, and T levels in the low to mid 400.

Had 12 pelletts put in this AM. Blood work was good. T levels in high 400 range, no pain from procedure and four hours later still no pain. One foot note I saw. I had my GP give me my yearly checkup three weeks prior to the procedure. My T levels than were 587. When the
Testopel doctor checked my blood it was 490. Looks like it drops fast in that last month.

I'm glad you continue to get good results from your pellets. Because of other medical issues, I can only receive four (4) pellets and no sooner than every four (4) months. I'm waiting for mid-November! Take care ~~

five days have passed, I had no pain from procedure. The trick is to have the pellets inserted high just above the area where you belt sits. This is my 4th time and I seem to be stabilizing in the 400 to 600 T level range.

I get acne from my testosterone. I keep mine pretty high at the 6-700 range with androgel. I sometimes go to my dermatologist who injects any cyst I get with a cortisone which makes it go away in one day. It's a side effect I have to live with to have strong bones, muscles and a good libido, so I will put up with it.

Good luck, Leo. As with all meds, one must weigh the positives and negatives and then make a decision that is best for you. Glad you are able to get ten (10) pellets. Because of heightened hemoglobin that I get, I am only able to get four (4) pellets and no more frequent than every four (4) months. Take care ~ ~

been four weeks from getting my 4th set of pellets. 12 pellets each time, and the fire up with this set was one great feeling. It made me feel 18 again lol. I have no problems with acne, but never had a problem as a teen so might just not be in my system. My starting level this time was in the 500 range. It has climbed each cycle. I suspect I was in the 800 range when I was feeling so good. How I have leveled off and just feel good and full of energy. The part of this process which I think has been best for me is the positive mood I have now. I don't think I was depressed prior to starting, but I sure was low. That is gone now, just energy an morning wood. amazing what a little Testosterone can do for you.

Thxs! So - any hair loss or gains while using the pellets? I hav also heard that the Testies shrink after time. Has anyone experienced or heard this? What about your flacid? If you had a Turtle effect, will the Pellets help?
