Updated

Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

Don, we now have a liaison in Chicago, and one of my docs in Lake Charles, LA gave him a referral for a doc in Chicago, so we should be adding some soon. We only train once a month, so hopefully we'll have at least one at Aprik's training! Do you think the weight gain is water retention? Or could it possibly be an increase in estrogen levels? Any moodiness or breast/nipple sensitivity with trx? You really need someone that knows how to interpret your thyroid levels! I changed from synthroid to Armour and feel so much better, and now I'm hearing that Natur-throid gives even better results! You really should not be adding weight with each trx, so something is being missed!

Hey guys---thanks for the feedback so far...almost 4 weeks in of round 1 feel good-more energy a nice increase in libido ...hoping this isn't a dream...this might be just what the doctor ordered so to speak....already looking forward to round 2....for me the procedure was easy and uncomplicated....get blood work in a few days. I'll keep the updates coming.

That's what we like to hear on this site, Nomad -- a guy feeling good because of beneficial results from the implants. Glad all is working out for you. Enjoy --

Bob,

I reached the end of my 3rd month and my numbers were still around 600 and the doctor said lets go ahead and put another round of pellets in and he did 2 weeks later. I was still feeling fine and was a little worried about insurance not paying because my levels were still pretty high but everything got paid and I didn't have that month I don't like at all with no energy and just feeling like junk. This testopel is really a life changer in my opinion. Very thankful indeed.

You made ME feel good after reading your latest post, Brian. I'm glad things are coming together for you. I've learned over the years that doctors, themselves, have a great deal of influence with insurance companies and what they pay or don't pay. So much depends on the "wording" they use. Continued positive outcomes are hoped for you. Take care --

I have not posted in a while. Used Testopel, for about a year. Before was on Androgel, which did very little.
Testopel worked great. Just didn't like having to go back every 3 months, for more. 3 months, was all I could get, out of 12 pellets. And even with my insurance paying, was $$. I now use injectable Testosterone, sublingually, under the tongue. Mixed with vegetable oil. Using about 6 grams of T a day. Works great. No spikes in T, no spikes in Estrogen. Much closer to the way T is produced when we were in our teens and 20's. I ran across a blog, and a book on Testosterone. I posted it here, but was not submitted, or allowed. I guess because I named the author and the book. This author knows his stuff on hormone replacement. Not only Testosterone therapy. There is a lot more to it, then just raising your testosterone.

James -- I had never heard of the sub-lingual method of Testosterone replacement. I had done injections, but with the typical roller coaster results and having to repeat each two (2) weeks. The TESTOPEL implants works good for me, but my urologist will not give me more than ten (10), and not sooner than every three (3) months. I've done this now for a bit over three (3) years. Perhaps because of left testicle removal in 2010, by 2 1/2 months, I am in need of implantation again. Also have ongoing and almost constant (chronic) prostate infection, so must have PSA done each time prior. PSA will rise with infection so sometimes have to go thru two (2) month's worth of antibiotics before Doc will consent to the implants. I appreciate the fact that Doc is my advocate and looking out for me, but am now faced with probability of having to undergo ANOTHER prostate biopsy (2nd one in 2 years). It wasn't unbearable, but not the most pleasant thing either. Decision will be made first week in May after results of PSA are in. Just waiting --

I'm new to this HRT thing...just 5 weeks with the pellets.....I'm 58 have leukemia ....CLL....no major side effects....and I was hoping for a significant improvement in attitude, energy, and libido...and I got them all ....still trying to figure out how to manage them all ...but loving it and looking to the future!...I hope that everyone has a similar experience.

James - that is quite interesting under the tongue. Is your Doctor prescribing that. I just had Testopel implants today (10) and asked about a few alternative methods. I have used under arm gel, shoulder gel (best), nut gel. I asked why no pills and he said they used to but ran into major liver issues and stopped making pills. It seems that sub-lingual would be similar.

Just my .02

The Doctor is not prescribing it. He thinks I'm Injecting. I posted once, the author's name, and website, where the book is free to view. But my post was not allowed, never posted. I will give you some hints, you should be able to figure it out. Sublingual goes directly into the bloodstream. 99 percent absorption rate. On the skin is only like 30 percent. Testosterone, does not work well ingested. Causes lots of problems. The pharmacy sold me a 10 ml/200Mg vial for $80. Will last me a year The book author is a research chemist. Invented Super Beta Prostrate. Sold out a few years back. And devotes his time to research.

Steve- I replied to your post last night. but it has been posted yet. They may not. Tried to hint on where to find out more, without saying so directly. I've already tried. Sublingual , goes directly into the blood. 99 percent absorption rate. Skin is 30 percent. Dr. doesn't prescribed. I learned about this somewhere else. Taken orally, T causes all kind of problems. Dr. thinks I'm injecting, which I've tried. But jacks up the estrogen levels, even on a weekly dose. I was injecting myself. This way is much close to natural T production. Daily. I used Testopel. It worked great. It delivers a contionous slow dose. I just found a even better, and cheaper way.

Bob, I posted 2 posts , that they finally allowed to post. They explain what I'm doing. I had a lot of prostrate problems, before I ever started on T therapy. I had the greenlight laser procedure, HoLap, surgery. Best thing I've ever done. I go now like a teenager. Sleep all night, etc.. I started the Testosterone therapy after my Holap surgery. abouit 6 months later. My previous Urologist, checked my T, but said I was fine. 325 I think. Not fine. After my Holap, it checked in a 125. And my new Urologist believed fully in T therapy. The book, if you can find it, by my hints, explains it much better than I can.
Good Luck

James: first of all, you are a good "hint-giver"!!!!!!! I was -- without any extreme effort on my part -- able to figure out both the author and the book to which you are referring. I have downloaded already onto my Kindle and will be reading after the completion of this post to you. I am anxious -- VERY anxious -- to seek out what information I can obtain from this source. I feel as if I am in debt to you, but don't know how to go about repaying such a kindness you have given to members of this website. That's one of the special things about the guys who contribute here -- each has valuable experiences, thoughts and opinions that they freely share. Thank you. Please continue to contribute to the men here, and obviously ... Thank you !

Uh hum.....don't forget that I'm on here as well! I am on T therapy as well as 10's of 1000's of women using the biote method for hormone optimization!!

Ginger, no one has forgotten you. I remember when you first got on. Some didn't like it, at first. What I like about what I learned, is, this guy, makes his research available for free. He's already made his fortune. Too much money is involved in T therapy. He cuts it down to what it should be. Cheap. And shows how to test most all hormone levels yourself. By using a swab test lab. Mentions many hormones, I've never heard of. You read it, I bet there's some you've never heard of, maybe.

Ginger, always details for women to use as well. Just as important as it is for men.
Just much lower level
A 10ml/200mg, would last most women 42 years!
