How Dangerous Is Oxycodone?

How dangerous is oxycodone really? I've heard so many stories about peoples' hearts exploding. Can oxys really cause that? Or is it only when you mix it

Oxycodone is a powerful narcotic pain killer. Basically anybody who takes it has to be really responsible about their dosage. There have been many accidental overdoses, especially when taken with alcohol. Actually mixing this with alcohol is a deadly combination.

I don't know about the heart exploding, but an overdose can make the body so relaxed that the diaphram stops breathing, and then the heart stops too.

The heart exploding is an exaggeration, mainly due to people misunderstanding heart failure, which can occur as a result of drug overdose.

There are really no conditions that cause the heart to actually explode, not even a heart attach does that. Even if someone has an enlarged or swollen heart, it does remain intact, even if it results in death.

I just wanted to clear that up, in case other people may be hearing the same rumors.

All narcotics, and quite a few other medications, can cause depression of the central nervous system, basically the relaxing that roy mentioned. An overdose potentates this effect, so the heart and lungs may end up relaxed to far and unable to keep doing their job to sustain life.
