How Can I Get Subutex Not Suboxone? (Page 4)

Updated

I don't know how to go about this as I am shaking and can barely focus, I need help! Please. I fear that my life is going to end from my abuse of opiates. I am currently taking 250 mgs of oxycontin per day. I have a loving fiance and a stepdaughter that I want to be here for. I sit here with cold sweats, and fear going out just because I may make the fearful turn to the meds. Any and all info on how to obtain Subutex would be much appreciated. This wasn't what I wanted my life to be, and I can not let it end this way..Please help me. I am not a religious man but I pray for help as I am at my wits end with this drug.

My brother died in his sleep from an opiate overdose. He was so addicted and his withdrawals so bad, that I could literally look at him and see how badly he was suffering. An addict does not go into recovery knowing how to cope with the withdrawal symptoms, and in the first stage is when the symptoms are hardest to bear. It makes me very angry to hear people telling a person who is suffering like this that subutex or suboxone is not the way to go. Personally, I hate suboxone, but it would have saved my brother's life if either of us had known about it at that time!!! I would do anything to have him back, and I know he was suffering bad enough he would have tried it. It would have given him the hope he needed that his life could be very different, the one he really wanted to have anyway. My brother was such a good-hearted person, but he did not have good coping skills. He thought he had to be the hero for everyone, and he sucked up any difficulties he had, never admitting to them, and not talking to anyone about them.
It's not necessarily the same for everybody. Some people may be able to tolerate their withdrawals better than others. Or another's may be more traumatic. I've had both very tolerable, no intervention-type withdrawals, and I've had the second kind, where I used suboxone to help, because I could not endure them. I've also suffered the withdrawals from suboxone, and I know it's nothing to play with. I literally thought I was dying, and it was like it was pay-back time, and there was no way around it, it was going to happen whether it happens initially, or after the suboxone, but doctors are keeping a lot of patients on it for way too long, and way too high a dose. Thank God I no longer take any of it. It was like demons were moving around my room at night. My throat closed up and I could barely talk, and I was dying of thirst. My blood pressure shot up - and I had never experienced that before. I had no idea what was happening to me. I didn't sleep for FOUR days. It was one of the most nightmarish experiences I've ever had. I even prayed, asking God if I was going to die. I truly felt like I was. From what I understand, I was lucky my experience didn't last longer. It lasted about 3 weeks, while others say theirs lasted MONTHS, and even a YEAR later, they were still experiencing episodes of withdrawal. I totally believe it, knowing personally what opiates do to your brain and body. But, in the crisis stage, I think suboxone can be a life-saver under supervised circumstances, for short-term. Doctors need to be educated on this, and some doctors definitely should be fined for keeping patients on this medicine for way too long. Some doctors may truly believe this is good for them, but others may simply not care, because this method of treatment is very lucrative I imagine for the provider. Okay, that's may take. I'm out of here :)

Suboxone is maybe 7 for the stop signs and 11 for the strips where the subutex generic can be bought for 2.70 so do the math. lets see... 90x11 or 2.70 x 90 we have been overwhelmed with this problem in fl and when u make min wage see who easy it is to spend 1000 on ur script 250 is alot easier.

Not sure how you came across your info about the difference in the cost of suboxone and subutex but you're wrong, at least in Kentucky, the difference between the two is a minimum of $300 depending on the pharmacy, that's WITH insurance. I have been trying for 2 months to find a doctor to prescribe either that I could afford, I have excellent insurance but not one of the doctors take insurance, not one! By the time you get in and go through all the steps to begin treatment you are spending between $600-$800 CASH and that doesn't include the script, with my insurance 30 days of suboxone would cost $336 while 30 days of subutex is $31.76, that's a pretty huge differance

Im not going to preach, just try to help...its actually pretty easy...they cause really bad migranes, thats actually the truth, they had to switch me to subutex instead of suboxone, at the time when I was on it my script was only 25% what I was paying for suboxone...Im sure you know this and probably why you want it but it doesn't have the blocker so you can take anything else to, including other pain meds...Good Luck...

if you can get it, Ibogaine, subutex you will end up taking 4 to 6 8mg tabs at a time, probably 2 times a day, Methadone is a lot worse than OXY...And suboxone doesn't work...trust me I know the 250 really ain't s***...but is your back messed up or what...this sounds like my life before I finally got an mri a couple yrs ago...Good Luck...

suboxone and subutex are the same. the naloxone in suboxone is basically there to make u sick if you shoot it up. the blocking effect comes from the buprenorphine, not the naloxone. not a bit of difference between the two. look it up.

Do ppl really want help,i only have one thought on why ppl want subutex instead of suboxone, due to being pregnant i was put back to subutex its safer than suboxone, also subutex is no longer prescribed to anyone except pregnant woman,i was shocked at the demand i would have ppl waiting as i left clinic, they wanted it so bad they were willing to shoot up something spat from a strangers mouth, not to mention what woman sells the meds that are keeping her baby stable,i am an addict with years of misery but equal hard fought recovery and for those who desperately want to know how to get past the hell and despair of addiction, first u need to want it comit to it and be ready to work and even fight for it,the physical stuff is easy mentally is where u need to put your focus,i believe the other thing is to find a great dr,not a guy with the power to give out scripts i am lucky to have a doc who understands my condition and works. hard to assist me as i recover.i don't think a g.p had the knowledge my doc is an addiction specialist and I'm lucky i got him i know it hard to find a good doc but its no good to just get meds, you need other treatments or meds are no use.

the buprenorphine is metabolized almost completly through the liver which in larger doses increases bliver functions exspelling the drug.I also had a friend that had hep c and he got johndus.try switching to methadone.it much easier on the liver.

Yea man why must it be subutex.sounds like to me so you can still stay on your opiates of choice cause subutex does not have naloxone in it,so you know if you screw up no consequences.im not trying to be a jerk man,but I'm a 12 year opiate addict.and even I knew I would be better served with suboxone.don't tell me you are allergic too it or something,I heard all of it just give up man get on suboxone get life straight I wish you best of luck

I was addicted to crystal meth for about 9 months mixing it with benzos and then when trying to stop taking meth I started opiates (Hydrocodone) and then I relapsed on meth for another 9 months still on the benzos and hydros.

I did finally stop with the meth and was just on benzos and hydros for three years. Lost my connect to them suddenly and the Xanax withdrawl was the worst thing I ever experienced. Stopped benzos cold turkey at that time and found a crazy good pain med called Opana. Opana is the strongest opiate I have ever experienced. It was prescribed by a pain management clinic specializing in chronic pain issues. I was clearing the extended release gel off them and Insufflating them and it was my drug of choice at that point.

To get off the Opana opiate my friend gave me a Subutex to try because he kicked his morphine habit when a doctor in Tennessee put him on Subutex after a motorcycle accident for the pain.

I was shocked that on Subutex for that three days I was not in withdrawl and I did not crave any other medicine at all. I immediately began searching the internet for a doctor in Northern Virginia I could go to and get my own Subutex however all I could ever find were doctors prescribing Suboxone.

I was desperate so I went on Suboxone. It definitely works differently than Subutex because I was very nauseous on it and had no nausea on Subutex. I begged my doctor for Subutex but he would not do it and instead he prescribed me a strong anti-nausea medicine generic Promethazine which actually did work.

I have been on Suboxone and Promethazine now for five years and I am not using any other drugs and I am stable.

I am concerned about what it is doing to my digestive system because I am more than severely constipated and have been for the last few years since taking Suboxone. Obviously I had issues with constipation while abusing opiates like everyone else but what I have now is much worse and nothing helps.

I am wondering if the Subutex might be less damaging to my system since others mention less side affects and I myself had no noticeable side affects the three days I was able to try it years ago. Anyone have experience with both?
