I too have been on oxy 30s for over 3 yrs.i have dealt with the increase in price which is in the thousands now,without insurance.i struggle to get through just an average day,I have for degenerated discs,two of which are sitting on nerves,talk about pain,I'm in nyc.theres not a pharmacy who has them.this problem is not just In Florida or PA ect...it's everywhere.the thing is we can't pass blame to the pharmacies for it's not their fault,the blame is to the manufacturer where the pharmacies order from.they are the ones that are driving the price up and limiting the supply to the pharmacies.there is nothing we can do.yes we can ban together and stand up for our rights but if they say it's banned then guess what,it's banned.did you know MDMA street name extacy was in fact a prescription drug that was banned by the government,well history is repeating itself.the only way to get around it is to find another pain med that will work for you.yes we live In America but it's an America that's no longer run by Americans.we the people think we are free but in fact live and are controlled by the most strict country in the world.New World Order people,it's time to lift the vail that you all have kept over your eyes and really take a look at the country you live in,to make a change and take back our freedom will take war.americans against the government.rebel and fight or stay a robot.one thing we still have is the choice to pull the trigger

It's a nightmare trying to find a pharmacy to fill your script from a legitimate doctor I literally went to 30 pharmacy to be shot down saying we don't have them oxycodone was created to treat chronic pain!!!! I'm tired of being in pain and worry where the hell I'm going to get my meds from a Ligit doctor filled where do we go from here to make a change???

@ Jay - Nearly 2.5 years since your post and it's oh so sad that things have not only been unchanged but have worsened. With the implementation of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) in Florida in September of 2011, I truly thought things would get better. The math should have spoken for itself. If all of the people who were doctor shopping were taken out of the picture, there should be adequate supply at the pharmacies. Hypothetical example: If the average number of Rx written before the program was implemented was 100k, and 50k were repeated monthly patients at several doctors or were illegitimate for whatever reason (this may seem like a exaggeration but it isn't. 7 years of watching this hell develop has been insanely unreal), the elimination of the false or ill-gained prescriptions should have left the stock available to legitimate, verifiable patients.-* On that note, many pharmacists are now so terrified to be related to any narcotic and are given "recommendations" that they feel they must follow (note, recommendations, not laws- they are extremely ambiguous and poorly broadcasted between doctors, lawmakers, pharmacists, and patients), which now includes asking extensive questions about patient history, injuries, origin of treatment, etc. It is a physician's duty to study, understand and treat the patient, not the pharmacist's. Leave the diagnostics to those who are trained to do so. Though, this is not in particular the pharmacists' fault at all, they are terrified and end up jumping into a different field than that which they are trained. I could probably write on this subject all day but I think one jewel of info I learned recently on yet another 2 week search to fill my Rx deserves attention (and the wonderful small business owner who relayed this to me really deserves praise, as during our conversation she showed me a huge stack of letters on this very topic she had written and sent that same day to congressmen, senators, and lawmakers in our fantastic Floriduh).

Most pharmacies have one main distributor that they use for all/most medications. The Florida law has cracked down so heavily on narcotics that they limit the number of pills to a certain amount within the WHOLE FAMILY of the drug. This means that a pharmacy may be able to order maybe 300-500 pills monthly TOTAL of everything in the oxycodoe family, regardless of strength or combination. Consider that a pharmacy may be close to a dental surgeon who removes wisdom teeth many times per week, or a hospital that treats emergencies by writing a prescription and you can see how 300 10/325 percocet could be dispensed within a few days. Now considering that oxycode HCL in particular comes in bottles of 100, with most prescriptions being for a larger number than that, I can understand why it may put the person in charge of ordering in a pickle. Additionally, I was told that a pharmacy can order from a secondary suplier (with limits as well) but because they are usually only ordering these controversial drugs, the supplier then jacks the price through the roof to protect their own costs, which then trickles down to the pharmacy (I believe she said a difference of $35 and $250 per bottle). This explains, but does not in any way excuse, the insane price gouging at some smaller pharmacies. I reported 4 pharmacies to the BBB after being told I would have to pay $10+ per pill for a Rx of over 150. No insurance accepted. You can bet I have had zero response or any indication that my report was sent anywhere but into oblivion. Oops. I almost started complaining, which is what I want to do all the time in this hell but I actually responded in hopes to give some insight, though I know it changes nothing in the big picture. Good luck to all who are suffering through this, Most importantly: VOTE! Get the sadistic Attorney General Pam Bondi out of office. God help her if she ever has to live with any real chronic physical pain, or if all that hair dye and teeth whitener seeps in and gives her a taste of what she has done to our state of Florida and those who call this our pain ridden home. Im almost back in the wheelchair after only being out and living for 2 years because no one in Florida will prescribe me the oxycodone that got me out of the wheelchair and was maintaining me.

Why won't they fill it?? Did the doctor give you a valid script?? I would call his doctor. Weed will help also. It's natural and there's no other toxins in weed unlike pain killers.

I am with you as well. it is easier to get the oxicodone on the street then to fill my script. Let's sue the s*** out of them. I've been looking for for over a week at least 20 different pharmacies.

Dear Sue the s*** out of them, are you in Florida? I am willing to testify and help you. I just dont have money for an attorney. I finally got a referral to pain management...I am walking on FIVE Heel spurs on top of my very painful osteoarthritus, but because I am disabled on medicaid, none of the HMOS you get forced on have non interventional pain management ......So its surgery, acupuncture, cortisone torture shots etc or you stay in pain. OMG, we are being abused. I am not a youth. I do not want to be out of commission or tortured. What happened to being able to choose what treatment gives quality of life??? This is my life. I just have one. My family, everyone dies in maximum 24 years from my current age. OMG

I am 60 Years Old and have Cancer,and on Chemo every Day,I get a few Oxycodone 15s each month,this last week I have went to 67 Pharmacys,in the Sarasota FL Area,trying to get my Needed legal Script filled,and the answers I get is we are out,or we dont carry that,two said they had them,but I lived in Sarasota,and my DR was there,and that was where I had to get them,one even demanded that I make my Cancer DR Prescribe them to me,Cancer DRs Dont Write and Pain Meds,I have been to several,and THEY DONT WRITE,at least the ones I go to dont,,and I even had my Chemo with me when I was looking,Are they any Pharmacist reading this that will help a Senior with Cancer ,and has a Legal Script,or anyone that can help me,I am out and what back up is gone also,I feel My time on this Earth is short ,looks like I will have to Suffer what time is left,this should not be.Please Help

I have been taking the oxy 30's for 3years. I cannot put my feet on the ground without severe pain. I wake up several times every night every time I try to roll over. The pain is excruciating! I pray every day the pharmacy that has filled my prescription all these years can tell me they have my meds. 12 days and still not filled. The pharmacist says the DEA is involved, that they cannot get them. HELP, PLEASE!

Its the end of the year. The quota the dea sets has been met so they cannot produce anymore until 2015. They ration out what is left to the pharmacies.
