Fentanyl Patch Withdrawal Symptoms And Duration (Page 11)

Updated

i have post surgical lower back pain. was in 50 mcg patch and had side effects and so decided to wean off. i finished with the 12 mcg patch a week ago and am still suffering from periodic nausea, irritability, daily joint and muscle pain, but the worst is the consistent restless legs. it is driving me crazy. my doctor says that is not withdrawal. is he right? i don't think so. if it is withdrawal, what can i do about it and how long will it last? i am going crazy.

My daughter was abusing fentanyl and now she's in detox. Doc said she peaked on the 3rd day, but it's going on 6 days now and sick as a dog. It started out with oxymorphone then escalated and now she can't eat or sleep, has restless legs and is bouncing off the walls. I can't even visit cause she can't get out of bed. Doctors prescribe too much meds. I went in for a bad back without even getting an MRI. I was given 120 perks a month, from which I recently weaned myself off. Doctors are the biggest drug dealers. Beware when a doctor gives you that amount. He didn't care about his patient. It's all about the mighty dollar. Everyone I know gets that amount and the worst part is they're all junkies now. So sad.

I have been on Fentanyl patch 2 75mcg patches every 48 hrs for the past 8 years for chronic back pain, now I am in a situation with my pain clinic over a bill that I can't pay in full because I am disabled and just got my disability checks, and I live on a budget and this is the first income I have had in over a year while waiting for everything to go threw, I offered to pay half the bill and then make regular payments but they won't accept it so now I am out of the fentanyl and the Norco I have been on also so I am afraid of what the withdrawl symtoms are gonna be like on me, I don't have anything to help me at all other than nausea medications, I started experiencing the severe leg pain yesterday, can anyone tell me what to look for or what I should do, I have heard that coming off cold turkey after being on it this long could kill me or make me deathly ill please if anyone could give me advice I would greatly appreciate it, I am scared.

I was on fentanyl for 10 years and suffered a lot coming off them. I still have restless leg syndrome which I treat with a dopamine agonist. This is only a temporary reprieve as augmentation will kick in soon and the agonist will make the RLS worse. There seems to be no alternative apart from dopamine agonists, strong sedatives, Lyrica or opiates, none of which help the brain.

I have been on Fentayl 75 mcg for 15 years. Then a year ago I went down to 50mcg. Now today I am on 25mcg. Feeling like a have been hit by a truck. All my muscles are twisting 24 hours a day. Headaches terrible. I will see what happens.

I would avoid methadone all the way. That was the hardest med to get off of. I was severely sick, was in hospital because I kept having grand mall seizures and even after that I ended up in a detox center for 12/days. It took months to get over that hell. All because it was the cheapest ones to afford for my pain control. I'd suffer before ever taking that medicine again!!!! I thought I was in hell... And I was. I'm withdrawing from fentanyl now an it's rough but nothing close to what methadone put me through!!! Don do it guys! Guarantee you will regret.

Best thing for fentanyl withdraw if ur going thru withdraws symptoms have ur doc proscrib tramadol HCL 50 MG every 4 to 6 hrs . Is what my doc wanted me to take but I had very low withdraw symptoms and that's after a few yes on 100 MG patches every 2 days and didn't need it

The problem with narcotics are exactly what you're dealing with. I have 2 herniated discs, ripped rotor cuff and knee problems (possibly arthritis). And if that's not all I'm on a slew of head meds. I was on pills for 7 years, methadone for 3 yrs, opiates for 2 1/2 years. I have a little experience here. If your Dr is telling you it's not from the pain meds get a new Dr. Restless leg syndrome comes with W/D no matter what opiate you're coming off. I'm clean for 6 months now and just deal with the pain other ways. Try COBRA VENOM called Nyloxin. I was amazed, you will be as well. Also never forget about P.A.W.S. If you don't know about it research it. It stands for Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome. You can feel side effects up to a year after you stop. The good thing is they're acute, it lasts a day or 2. For the restless leg syndrome, make ur opiates last all month. Don't take more than needed. And for RLS try Ativan, alprazolam, klonopin, or even just Valuims, for the edge. You can use Imodium AD for the stomach problems. Ppl don't know this, even though it says it right on the label, it is an OPIATE. It will work identically for the body. I don't know what part of the globe ur from. If I did I would be able to assist you more (as far as the laws and what pharmacies think they can do whatever) hope I helped a little. Last question, ur not on any anti-psychotics are you? Reason I ask is because I'm highly sensitive to them and get a side effect called Acathecia, the same as RLS except involves arms also. Hope I shed some light.

Was on METHADONE in 2008-11. I've tried them all. THIS IS THE WORST. I was on 170mgs till I got into an altercation with someone. They then started dropping me 10mgs every 3 days. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. When I got to the 10mg mark, I couldn't stop jumping out of my f***ing skin. Subs did their job and I wasn't on free base long enough to catch a habit. I'm currently 6 mnths clean of everything illegal and feel great. There is no one jumping on my back 24/7. WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A WAY! Good luck. You can do it.

Ghost .. after being on fentanyl 100 MG patches 1 every 48 hrs for 2 years I had to get off them . almost lost my wife and kids so quit cold turkey 7 months ago . I didn't really have withdraw symptoms. Just a Lil insomnia. But my doctor told me if I needed something the best thing to take for most Opium type drugs was tramadol and most doctors don't mind prescribing it because in most states it not a tightly controlled substance but u have to b carefull if take to much to long u can get hooked on it to just like any drug

Yeah Steven, in a perfect world using a light synthetic alagesic narcotic will work. Just use the Tramadol as a substitute for the least amount of time possible. If you have stomach problems take Imodium AD, it's an opiate that doesn't break through the brain barrier. But on the body, your tummy won't be able to tell the difference. I don't know where ur from but where I'm at, getting Tramadol is close to impossible. I would have to go to Brooklyn or Manhatten to get a script. I use Suboxone for the last 6 mnths and I'm finally totally clean. U CAN DO IT

Ghost
Yea u can !! U just have to want it bad enough ,,,,.. ,FYI , I live in Louisiana , tramadol is not considered a controlled substance here , still need a scrip but it's not that tightly controlled

Steve I live on an opiate epidemic island. They won't give Tramadol unless ur in a pain management program. I'm good, been clean for 6 mnths now. Rather deal with the pain than the Dr's and pharmacists.
