Endocet Vs Oxycodone (Page 11)
UpdatedI HAVE BEEN ON OXYCODONE FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND MY DRUG STORE RAN OUT AND GAVE ME ENDOCET? SAID IT WAS THE SAME THING BUT MY BODY TELLS ME THAT IT'S NOT THE SAME. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CHANGE?
I think she would be okay with the u/a because percocet is oxycodone and tylenol and endocet is oxycodone and tylenol too. The only difference is in the strength which wouldn't matter they are just looking to see if the drug is in her system and to see if any drugs that she has not been prescribed are in her urine as well.
CVS only gives out generic not endocet or name perc's and they won't order them either! I personally like endo's better um CVS lost my business long time ago they ate nothing but smart asses
Jim, could please elaborate on that? What do you mean when you say, 'your body knew it was different?' Was the Endocet better, as in stronger--in other words, it took your pain away better than the Oxycodone; or had the Oxycodone done a better job of handling your pain than the Endocet? Which is it?
Sounds like you people know way too much about drugs....
RPH is Rhodes, its a company been around for a long time. my experience with them has been with mscontin, but i got RPH perc. 10/325 they work pretty good
tracy i agree with you 100%amneal isnt the best but id take that i would never take actavis EVER AGAIN qualitest works well for me too
Hi my name is Valerie and I have been taking Percocet since 2012 for my Stills disease which is a form of arthritis and I am currently still taking the Percocet but some how I went to the ER on dat before yesterday and was giving a prescription for the Percocet and I took it to a CVS to fill it and they gave me Endocet 5/325 and it is a different feeling from the Percocet which is Oxycodone. And do Endocet that I took is strong to me and they made me very very sleepy and worked on my pain
Hi Valerie! What a beautiful name! My only child, my 12 year old daughter, is Valerie! I love that name!
Anyway Valerie, with regard to your post, you only vaguely indicated what Endocet did for your pain! Do you think you could elaborate on it? Aside from making you drowsy, Valerie, do you think that the Endocet definitely worked better than Oxycodone, or about the same? I would truly appreciate knowing what you thought of it! Thank you so much!!
U seemed very knowledgeable right up till u said that ur not obliged to use one pharmacy. Have u ever read the pain contract u signed? Lol And for some reason, endocet works noticeably better for me. Remember, endocet is a NAME BRAND drug, that became really cheap
@Post #121,
Wow. That was a little uncomfortable there Bill. I hope your mood has improved since that post. So I felt compelled to explain to you exactly why I think you are wrong, but first. I should say to an extent, Im with you though Bill; the world is full of people who don't know nearly as much as they think they do, and I too have often found that confronting their ignorance as aggressively as possible often leads people to want to keep learning- you know? How dare they ask questions or try to seek out further knowledge- intelligence is something your born with right Bill?
How dare they try and learn from scholars such as ourselves, right Bill? I'm sorry this sarcasm is killing me! Bill you bully people who try and spread a little experience on chat rooms and I'm glad you do- because I get to take my frustration with the day out on you.
I have only taken Endocet it's been 6 mo since my last back surgery & I'm doing fine it works for me

First of all, I do not regularly take opiates. Until yesterday, I hadn't been written a prescription for over six months. However, when I have a legitimate reason to be prescribed an opiate based medication I make certain to tell the doc to prescribe percocet if they bother to ask and if they don't and tell me they're going to give me a scrip for "Lortab" or hydrocodone, I tell them oxy or percocet is more effective and they don't argue since I don't abuse opiates and if they're prescribing in that class of narcotics already, it makes no difference to them which one they prescribe. That said, if the opportunity to get a scrip for percocet presents itself, I make sure I get it because I do like it and it is some solace for legitimate pain...this time for a gum infection due to a broken root canal tooth. However, for the first time I was given Endocet 5 instead of the usual oxycodone I'very always previously been given...and, in fact, from the same pharmacy on a couple of occasions. Didn't think much about it as when I looked it up, it was said to be generic percocet...same as oxycodone from my understanding. That said, I wouldn't be reading this forum if I didn't have cause to wonder if there is, in fact, a difference. Because while I don't regularly use oxycodone, I sure as hell know what it's supposed to feel like and this ain't it. Like I don't feel that mellow, no worries high at all. I may as well be taking hydrocodone for as little affect as this Endocet is having. And I don't think it's in my head because I'm lucky to get a scrip for Percocet once a year, so I don't have a high tolerance. I don't know anything about the chemistry or compounding methods of the different brands, but I've had oxycodone enough to know this stuff is weak...like even after 3 5s, no floaty feeling and trying to get there, I've now got to seriously ration what's left or I'll be our long before the infection clears. So that's my two cents.
Sounds like you are looking more for that "high" than you are for pain relief, that is why it's not working.
What is endocet5.325mg. What does the 5 mean.n some have 7.325.
Endocet is generic percocet the 5 mg. is the amount of oxycodone and the 325 mg. is the amount of acetomenophin and 7.5 mg. is stronger and is the amount of oxycodone.
I am on Percocet (oxycodone) for bulging disc and arthritis in my neck. Since taking these meds every month I realized there is a wide range in effectiveness from different manufacturers. I find Endocet to be far superior than many of the generics. Rhodes pharmaceutical pills really suck for me. I need to take 1.5 to equal 1 Endocet. They are like two different meds in there effectiveness. It is really amazing.
Yes, I regularly get Oxycodone 10/325, it works perfectly for me. Yesterday, the pharmacy gave me Endocet 10/325 and it didn't touch my pain. They say it is exactly the same, but my body begs to differ. I am allowed 3 per day. I took 2 within 8 hours without relief, so, what is the difference?
Yes, it made me nauseous and gave me a headache. My pharmacy changed to it. Now, I go to a new pharmacy that has Malin croft or activas. There's something in those endocet that just did not agree with my system.
Oxycodone 10/325 (M523 Mallinckrodt) White Oblong M523 really performs much better than the Endocet 10/325 by far! At least for me. I have a Cervical Spine Injury Herniated Discs C-2 to C-7, including Lumbar Spasms and Lower Sciatic pain that runs down through my inner left thigh near the upper groin area, then the Dislocation of my left knee which I had surgery performed over 20 years since. So, Yes it works very well but my Pain Management Dr. includes Ms Continued or Morphine ER 12 hour medication & if needed break through Oxycodone 10/325 every 6-8 hours & always use it right away when you are starting to feel the pain coming through. Don't wait until your pain level is at pain level 7 because it will not work as well as it should. Always take a vegetarian laxative to avoid constipation because this medication will do just that.
I just wanted to say on another subject the Watson pale yellow Oblong medication for pain also worked wonders called Norco 853 not to be confused with all yellow pills. This one was Hydrocodone and when it got into your system you would know it a very good medication because you could work while being on this medication run your daily chores no problem, but if you were to just sit still maybe like in the subway or especially st the movies just forget it you would be out I missed the whole movie ! And once it was raining outside & it was cold about 45° nice & crisp so as was driving to this ATM to get money, I remember saying wow its really coming down I guess I'll just wait until it let's up a bit, well as I started to look at my windshield I was bored so I started to count the water drops that's like counting Star's in the sky at night! So the next thing I remember I look around and it was dark i arrived there about 2:30 pm on a Sunday nobody there and 4 hours later I looked at my watch I said its 6:30 pm! I had passed out! Wow, what just happened? That was the longest ever for me to be in what they call nodding out. Its happened before but not like that? Anyways, maybe that's why they discontinued this magnificent medication because it worked! Watson sold to Activas and that's history I saved 2 so I can say you see these pills these were the real deal. Now its a white Oblong pill still says Watson 853 but if you weigh them the pale yellow one weighs more because they changed the binder's and fillers basically ruined a good medication. This medication does NOT work at all! You would get better relief from Tylenol 3 with Codeine! No more the DEA has all the real Watson pale yellow 853 Hydrocodone 10/325 what a shame! You finally find something that works then they take it off the market? OK, then why did they approve it then in the first place? Why even make it? That's like taking Coca Cola off the market OMG people will riot like they tried back in the I think late 1970's or 1980's that started a war here in the U.S.A. so it was just a marketing scheme but it worked they came up with Classic Coca Cola and everybody was so relieved & happy I know I was!
