Dosa My Daughter Is 5, Hydrocodone

My daughter just had tonsils, tubes, adnoids taken out.. she was prescribed (hydrocodon- acetamin 7.5-3.25/15. 5ml every 4 hours... I thought my wife saw me give it to her bc we were in the same room but 30 min. Later she gave her another dose... Is that too much?

In doubt ER.... at the very minimum monitor her for the next 6hrs. Usually after 2-3hrs if nothing has majorly gone wrong then it wont but I know if it was my kid I would at least be calling poison control and be ready for a hospital run or ambulance... not trying to freak you out or anything... odds are nothing will happen... its fairly hard to overdose on hydrocodone.... Now I will just throw it in there when I used oxycodone (stronger than hydrocodone roughly 5mg oxy=7.5 hydro) My first dose was 20mg of oxy at barely over 100lbs... except feeling really good nothing happened in a bad way.... did have a sitter who routinely monitored my pulse ox to make sure it stayed above 95 and it stayed 99 the entire time. So vitals were fine with pulse within normal ranges. Yes there is a reason im not dead compared to others I used to know... partial luck and the rest monitoring and always have a narcan shot. So just gave you the abuse side but 15mg is relatively high for the age... if there was more weight i probably would say you literally have nothing to worry about but you know why not just monitor? I dont know what medical equipment you have on hand but usually the first thing to go is depressed respiration unless they seriously over did it... 15mg at 80lbs shouldnt be too much unless they have a hyper sensitivity.... still wouldnt take my eyes off them until the 6hr mark.... thats just my parent side and enough medical equipment to find out quickly if something is going wrong.... if you dont have one get a pulse ox meter at least... can get a decent one for 20 on amazon... super handy for just even tracking basic health.... ours gets used most often on my asthmatic kid because he will have a panic attack when the asthma attack happens.... and swears he cant breathe and will keep a pulse ox almost perfect... so just have to calm him down and all is well... without the meter we would have had so many er visits by now I dont think I could even count them
