I suffer from severe panic attacks on a daily basis. im a perfect example of a person that needs medicine and is unable to get it because of so many people abusing prescription drugs. I have such severe anxiety and panic attacks and cant find a doctor to prescribe me xanax because im only 25 and its so addicting. but what they dont understand that i should be on xanax for the rest of my life because my anxiety is so bad. So if any1 knows a doctor in the monmouth county area of new jersey that will prescribe me xanax please let me know...thank u

I debated it. But at 10 yo I felt a drug, benzo would be too risky with a still developing brain. Believe me, I've questioned my decision. At that age it seems learning tools to deal with better than drugs, especially since her anxiety was mild then. Thank You

I am going to see him this week, I have suffered from panic attacks for the past 2 months almost every day, have been waking up all throughout the night, having bad dreams, feeling anxious and have had many mood swings. First time visiting and i need Xanax , think he will prescribe me it ?

Xanax is a very addictive narcotic. A PCP will not continue to write Xanax for a 10 y/o. They can get in serious trouble. Your daughter needs to see a pediatric psychiatrist. I am pretty sure they will probably put her on a SSRI like Zoloft. In fact, Xanax is more addictive than Ativan

The worst thing you can do with a doctor is to tell them you need narvotics like Xanax. It can raised a red flag. There are other SSRI like Zoloft they can try because its for depression, anxiety and. Panic disorder. What you could tell the doctor is to. Try you on a PRN Xanax because you are afraid to have an attack at work or at any other social event. Tell the doctor that you know it can be addictive, but right now you need it for the symptoms. Make it seee like you are reluctant but you will try it. Don't be over eager.

Go to dr vorybyev in old bridge he will give you anything you need. I feel terrible for you I suffer also but take valium not as habit forming. Feel better

I went to the doctor, in NJ. Explained to him I have a tightness in my chest, difficulty taking deep breaths, I also had a sense of impending doom (free floating anxiety). I'm also an insomniac which makes anxiety worse.

He was quick to suggest trying Xanax 0.5mg TID (3xdaily) and restoril 39mg st HS (bedtime) works winders and some days I don't even need it


Best of luck! Best thing to say is that you have tried Valium and Ativan and they both did not work.

The problem is that no doctors will ever prescribe Xanax for life. You cannot possibly know that you will need Xanax for life. Xanax is a short life benzo and because of that it's more addictive than others. ( I take it and have no problem with feeling addictive for it) the doctor are not going to prescribed Xanax as the main medication to treat anxiety and or panic attacks. They will prescribe it in conjunction with another med. Xanax is more like if you feel a panic attack coming, taking a Xanax will stop the symptoms in a flash. Also, combining meds with CBI therapy is very helpful.

I'm 25 years old and have had an EXTREME anxiety and panic attack disorder since I've been 13 (for a short period they had me on diazepam and seroquel). The seroquel made me a zombie so i stopped all medications. I self-medicated most of my life because of the severe anxiety and attacks. I turned to heroin after awhile, that took away all my pain for the moment. I am now 2 years clean off of that s***, thank god. 2 years ago right after i got clean, i started experiencing the long lost anxiety i thought was gone or i guess just forgot. Right after that i was in a severe car accident, which magnified the anxiety 50xs. I couldn't even leave my house it was that bad. I went to go see a doctor who started me on 2mg of xanax daily, that didn't work so i went to go see a psychiatrist who finally prescribed me the correct dosage and meds. I take 300mg of wellbutrin XL, clonzepam 1mg 4xs daily, and alprazolam as needed. I've been on it now for about 2 years and i still suffer from anxiety. I've tried other non narcotic anti anxiety meds, I've tried almost every SSRI (anti-depressants) under the sun, the only thing that keeps my anxiety at bay in the klonopin. and the only thing that can stop my severe panic attacks is the xanax. Although its very addicting, it's worth it not to go through life with this horrible, paralyzing disorder. So Verwon, before you've gone through it don't make stupid suggestions. By the way, I'm in grad school going for my BA at the moment majoring in psychology and plan on getting my PsyD.
